I don’t know their COVID protocol but for GI it was great. It was a long cruise of 32 days with 23 sea days but they stuck with it and nipped it. No one stayed away from dining or dancing or ship activities. It didn’t hinder once we were made aware we knew also how to go in to protection mode. Have a great sail.

I don’t know. We didn’t have any Covid but it might depend on the captain. Although I know they have to report to the CDC I think if there is an outbreak of any kind involving a certain number of guests. I don’t know what that number is. But our Captain was all around amazing. His transparency was what built complete trust and confidence. And he had a lot to deal with. We had an 85 year old basically drown while snorkeling on a very remote island in Fiji. It was handled with out most knowing but he came on daily to advise us and blow by blow updates on what was going on. Guest was med vac to Fiji hospital and captain shared his correspondence with said guest after the guest…… who survived 👏👏👏🙏👏 letters from home. Best captain I have ever seen.

We were on the Sapphire in April for a 32 day cruise roundtrip from Los Angeles to South Pacific. We had a GI outbreak not quite midway through. I can assure you the captain Todd Mcbain wasted no time putting safety measures into place. He was very transparent and kept us up to date daily. By acting as quickly and thoroughly as he did the outbreak was kept down to barely over 100 people out of 3,600 including crew. Crew would serve you at buffet, no salt, pepper, catsup or that kind of stuff at your table but it never felt like deprivation or uncomfortable at any point. Those that did get it were quarantined to their cabin for only usually a day or two, but they had a small table outside their door for food delivery. If you just keep washing your hands and try and avoid handrails and doorknobs you should be fine. Handwashing is the single best way to avoid the crud. The captain and crew on that ship were all around amazing in everything.

I just booked hubby and I for this same cruise. We booked it because we won’t need air travel and we’re looking for many sea days to get faaa faaa away. It was a heck of a 2023! 👎
