My documents say "no charge"... Is this for new reservations? My date is April 26, 2014
We are on this sailing too. I reserved this a few weeks ago and it is still showing up as a reservation and still appears to be free for our sailing.

We did it with our son for the first time when he was 17 months old. It was a nice vacation, he did a good job traveling, eating in the MDR and we used the nursery a few times but he didn't like it. The western itinerary is my preference for traveling with a little one. There are tons of tips out there regarding traveling with a little one. I agree with the previous poster, if you use the pack and play the ship provides, take one or two of your own pack and play fitted sheets!

Are there ipads/computers/leap pads or anything of this nature available for the kids to use in the 3-5 room on Oasis?

At lunch they had some type of asian broths/soups and you could select what you wanted in the soup. Possibly Pho? They had different meat, noodle and vegetable options to add.
-
On Allure they had amazing butter pecan ice cream that was offered at lunch in the dining room. It was the same ice cream offered in the for fee ice cream parlor. Normally I wouldn't normally order this flavor but this one was so good we ordered it in the dining room and paid for it a few more times in the ice cream parlor during the week.

We took the potty seat toppers for our son in the past. The foldable ones are space savers and great for travel but they can pinch easily and aren't comfortable. If you can spare the space, take what is comfortable and what he uses at home.

Love this thread, lol. Like others said, mixed drinks are all quite strong.

We were there in October 2014 with our 3 year old. I didn't feel unsafe.

Thanks for your review. Can you please give me the following info. We have been there/done that everywhere in Jamaica and wanted to try something different since we'll have a sea day before and after our Jamaica stop....I understand about the rustic stuff and actually enjoy that type of thing.
1. Should I bother bringing snorkel?
2. Alot of sea urchins?
3. Were you bothered by locals "pushing/selling" stuff?
4. Did you use their pickup/takeback $20pp service or a taxi? If taxi, how did you handle that?
5. Although I know the chairs, beach, etc were "rustic", was the beach free of glass, garbage, etc?
Thanks so much
Barbara
I'm not sure about snorkeling, sorry. I forgot my stuff and didn't ask them if there was anything decent to see.
There were large shallow pools with nothing on the bottom. We were warned that there were sea urchins in the areas with sea grass so we stayed clear of that area.
Only one guy selling stuff and he wasn't approaching anyone. You could go up to his 'area' to look if you wanted.
We used their pick up service, it was a decent air conditioned van. We had a half hour from when the ship docked to get to the pickup point. We had to hustle to make it but we also had a 3 year old with us. If you have any mobility issues, a half hour might not be enough time, otherwise you should be able to make it.
I didn't notice glass or garbage on the beach.

We visited this week. Pros: affordable, close to the port, not at all crowded, great water for very young children, food didn't cause any GI issues and tasted decent. Able to return to the ship whenever we wanted. Cons: the place was in a state of serious disrepair. Drink options limited to bottled water & beer. Although they had plenty of liquor I didn't see mixers or clean ice. Bar was self serve. I would probably go again, but this place isn't for everyone. If you are expecting a resort experience, find another excursion. If you want to feel like you are living a jimmy buffet song, you will be fine!

Yes, it only took about 10 minutes to walk from the boat to the bank. Once you go through the gates go right then its the first road to the right I believe and its on the right.
Thank You, again!

One more question, if you opted for the 10am pickup, did you have adequate time to get off the ship and walk to the meeting point? I was concerned about only having a half hour to get off and walk there with a 3.5 year old.
-
Does the driver have a sign that says 'Time n' Place' or did you just ask the drivers hanging around the area?
-
Booked for next week!
-
Remember that their time is an hour behind ship time so if you book a ten o'clock pick up time it's gonna be eleven o'clock ship time and most ships dock at 10 so if you get off the boat then you would have an hour, but it only took us about 15 minutes to walk there.
Yes, I think allure docks at 1030 (ship time) so that would give us 30 minutes to get off the ship and make it to the pick up point.
Thanks a lot for answering all these questions!
-
If you booked for 10am pick up, was 30 minutes enough time to get off the ship and to the pick up point?

It was perfect and amazing! I am going to be doing a full review with pictures later today or tomorrow. Book it!
Great to hear you had a good time. Thank you so much for your input.

Our cruise leaves Sunday and we are going here on Wednesday! I will make sure to update after!
How was it? Leaving in less than 2 weeks, very curious!
-
Three specific questions if anyone can elaborate:
1. How were the mixed drinks? Just thinking simple things like rum punch or coconut rum & pineapple juice type drinks. I don't want frozen drinks.
2. How were the restrooms?
3. Was the water shallow for a good distance out or was there a drop off? (Is it ideal for a 3 year old?) Not a deal breaker, just curious.
Thanks in advance!

We are for sure going to My Time and Place while in Jamaica. Hope to see you and your family there phred!
If you are going to there before October 2013 please let us know how it was!

I'd like to hear from recent visitors. Thinking about visiting in October but I'm a little hesitant. Maybe others will reply. I'm curious about the toilets/changing facilities.

We did beach day excursions (just a beach not a resort day pass) with our son in Falmouth and Ocho Rios. He was 2 and 3 at the time of each excursion. Like you, we generally do not do ship excursions but did so for Jamaica. At least it was nice water, nice weather and a nice beach. He enjoyed playing in the sand and surf. When he is a little older we can get more adventurous.

Just to clarify, is this a 5-minute ride from Falmouth?
It's less than 10 minutes from Falmouth where Oasis and Allure and probably other Royal ships dock.
Salmon for breakfast?

I order salmon almost daily in the MDR when we cruise. Most recent was in the fall. It was on the menu if I recall correctly. It was also on the breakfast buffet station in the MDR on Allure.
