  1. I just posted this thing about the ad since I found it interesting that Princess would compare basically to Disney.  They alluded to it perfectly.  And yes, the fireworks Princess showed wouldn't be during the cruising times, unless the sun keeps acting up as it has been!  Disney is currently in the limelight now and maybe some may consider other trips.  I've been going there over 40 years and costs are truly skyrocketing there as well as all the politics now.

  2. Not for the high end hotels.  That new Star Wars is I believe .5,000 for a 2 day stay.  My son works there.  Prices sky high, while yes you may do it for of course less than 16,000 with their high end places like you are doing on Princess, probably not.  Now all park entries are on a reservation basis, for tickets, and those prices way up.  and the food etc.  I've been going to Disney World since 1976 and at least 30 trips since and always did a trip on a decent price.  But now they are charging, I guess like Princess for things like Fast Pass.  The things that Princess was pointing out in the ad,  all at Disney World.  So while of course completely different, seemed to be alluding to Disney World.

  3. I was watching TV last night and saw a commercial for Princess.  It lists all the wonderful things to do there in Alaska!  While watching seemed like what a theme park states, a Main Street, Wilderness Lodge, and more ending with and fireworks (all the statements depicted Alaska right down to the fireworks being the Northern Lights).  Has anyone seen this yet?  I'm sure it's brand new.  I was trying to find online and only found older ads.  It ends stating how you can cruise to Alaska for half the price of a theme park vacation.

Paraphrased...."Anitbodies wane over time - it's  normal,  I've been exposed to dozens of viruses and bacteria over my life.  If I still had active antibodies in my blood for all of them, my blood would be a thick goo."

    - Dr. John Campbell, May 30th video on Youtube.

    Seems simple enough to understand.

It's the Tcells and bone marrow that remember and protect the recovered as well

Another issue are the families that have already suffered through the disease of covid and have natual immunities built into their bodies now. This is being completely ignored by the CDC. There are enough people that have had covid now & studies have been made that indicate there is no difference between the vaccinations and the natural immunities. But many are so absolutely convinced because it's all they hear is vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. Following certain 'science' and ignoring other science that does not fit their agenda is what has caused many to lose faith in the CDC. Having people pay a different price and/or be treated indifferently is going to be a real issue and it's completely being ignored. RCG is complicit, less than other cruise lines but still complicit.

Thank you.   Only one 'science' matters.  The recovered studies by the NIH even are never mentioned.  They had a study back in Jan of this year stating the recovered were showing great antibodies and they were hoping the vaccine showed the same.  There have been (although a different illness but shows how the body remembers in not only antibodies but Tcells and Bcells and bone marrow) studies of those that had the 1918 flu and after even 80-90 years had strong immunity.

Just for clarification, from a great lover of cruises, NCL mostly, I need some information as far as is known.  We always cruise with a group.  Some are vaccinated, some would, some refuse as they have already had intense Covid and feel they're naturally immune!  No one mentions the anti-body tests.  For $25.00 you can get a finger ***** and a lab can tell if you have immunity.  Looks like that would be a cheaper and less invasive test and more accurate as to a say 10 day cruise or so. On another note;  Wondering what would happen now, that there are good meds to give if someone gets sick, it would be soon after they've gotten on board, couldn't the ship just quarantine them, and not the whole ship?  Food could be brought to the whole cabin and sad for them, but at least the whole ship isn't quarantined!  Would that work?  Also back to my suggestion of the anti-bodies test.  Would that work?

We have a 60th anniversary, family members have a 50th, and retirement celebrations and this is just awful.  At our age, in a year or two we may not have the good health we have now to enjoy a cruise.

BTW we ARE vaccinated and also tested before for anti-bodies, which we had even before the vaccinations.

Somehow antibodies don't seem to matter.  It should matter.  Recovered seem to only matter for blooddonations.  If a recovered person comes in contact with a positive person, no retest or quarantine so that's telling.  But Doesn't seem to matter

Seems all recovered are great for is donatedblood.  They want that and recovered matter there. I'm kind of tired of it all.  As an aside, they don't test the recovered if they happen to come in contact with a coronapositive.  So that says a lot to me.  No quarantine either.

No, because the testing fee is going to the company that was contracted to do it — Royal indicated in their announcement that they aren’t taking any of the funds for unvaccinated testing, in addition to paying for the testing for under 12 yo.

Could be a referral/percentage to the cruise line  Depends on the agreement/contract

Seems like 2 contradictory statements here from 2 different people at Royal.

Seems always the way it is.  This whole thing was rushed and people did different things to get vaccinated but now issues at times.  And I wonder about boosters.  They originally mentioned 6 months maybe.  I don't know but that time is up for the first who got it.  And mixing and matching, another maybe foolish thing if countries will recognize fully vaccinated as 2 of the same item. That is how the studies/trials went.  Who knows the value of mixing up?  No one.  It's just something that happened to rush this along.

I know more than I'd like to know. My dad tells his stories, cant stop him. Hes 102 and was in WWII. Though it's how he met my 95 year old mom.

Tree skier says it better than me. I marched in the 70s for equality and to me this was about treating the cruise industry the same. I get it, many here argue cruising should be treated as the wicked step child. Their argument is they deserve it... they shouldn't be treated the same.

I was in the 2nd class of my mba class who accepted women, and many other things women werent supposed to do. I didnt listen then and dont know if they say all shouldn't be treated equally. Which was floridas argument. The cruiseline was singled out for unequal treatment.

Lots of sore posters here upset equal treatment won today .. until tomorrow anyway. Things change. They will keep on arguing cruising is the ugly stepsister and deserves to be treated badly.

Not everyone believes in equal treatment. My bil treats his boys different because they don't go to church .. always people think they have a good reason. .until it hurts them.

You are SO LUCKY to have both your parents alive at those wonderful ages!  Thank him for his service and happy father's day!

That has been the unfortunate data going around from the beginning, people didn't really know that a mask is to retain a sterile field, not to keep you from getting something.

I predict masking will be gone entirely except for personal preference by our cruise in September.

and worn by people that don't touch them, hang them on a rearview mirror, put them on a table with their keys on top, drop and put it back on the face.  There is no sterile environment the way they're constantly touched and where they go when in a restaurant etc.

Just going from the news story I saw.  No idea on trials etc.  At this point I think NACI just makes stuff up while rolling the dice.

One day they probably didn't have the same type available when second shot was scheduled is most likely what happened.  That's my guess.  None were trialed that way I'm sure.  Then someone says how great the combo is.  How do they know?  They don't.

Does America really want to tell it's closest allies that half their people in some cases can't travel because of the vaccination they have had? It would destroy relations though it would also make me smile to be fair. It would be no different than getting rid of the visa waiver program because half the applicants would not get the visas and those countries would demand relations with USA be scrapped forever.

And Royal wouldn't dare turn half the Anthem customers away. There would be no point to running the ship. Although Cunard would be more affected if something like this came in. Under 40s don't get AZ.

Springstein is in NYC.  They state must be a US approved vaccine.  We'll see how that goes.
