MSC hasn't announced it yet, the port schedules often "leak" the schedule before it is announced by the cruise company.

After working out of Asia, it looks like they'll do 7-night Mexican Riviera sailings (probably Cabo, Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan)... the big question will be if they'll move north in the spring to do Alaska sailings.

Splendida is also now in the Pacific... will be interesting to see if they do Australia as well

I’m thinking Alaska and L.A year round. Prior to the pandemic MSC was working with RCI and another cruise line (I think NCL) on a new terminal for Seattle. Of course the pandemic stopped the discussion. I’m guessing that they want to expand across more U.S ports.

Sorry to hear about your Mother’s illness.

I sincerely hope the poster who reacted with laughter to the first post, did so by accident. If not, this place is getting worse by the day.

I had not noticed that but went back to look. Sad. Who could possibly find humor in any of this?

Well it is nicer than trailer trash.

I've never sailed Carnival or MSC but often hear the term Carnival 2.0

Personally, I don’t think it can get much worse than Carnival. Been there, did that and have no desire or reason to return. Just my two cents. Many love the line and that’s great but not us.

The problem with Yacht Club is you’re stuck in Yacht Club. If YC is too sleepy for you, once you pass those doors you find yourself on Carnival 2.0 which is a hard pass for me.

Agree. Found the exact same issue on the Norwegian Bliss. Once outside of the Haven, it was a madhouse.

One pass purchased per cabin....  Celebrity could end up with twice as many people using the pass than they planned for  😅

Royal Caribbean has had something very similar in place for a while. It’s called the “Key” and it printed on on your boarding pass and Set Sail card. Celebrity will catch on to this quick.

Got the Bermuda cruise we’re hoping for. Fare is sky high so we will hope for price drops!

If Celebrity interests you then I suggest checking them out. We booked the Silhouette in the retreat to Bermuda out of NJ for seven nights and it ends up being a better value than what the Liberty would be on a per day basis as it includes the premium drink package and premium WiFi. This was for the May 2025 time period.

Having said that there seems to have been a few significant updates on the Infinity including Michaels Club and other public spaces.

The OP stated that they expected to be “sailing on a new ship”. The ship has not been revolutionized and my bet is that it will not be. Also, a two week dry dock only gives time to take care of maintenance and maybe some new carpet.

Is the refurbishment still on for this spring? I notice that for my fall booking many cabins have opened up recently…While it gets rave reviews…i had planned on sailing on a “ new” ship.

The Infinity and Connie are both twenty plus year old ships. While they both were due to be revolutionized, I think that ship has sailed due to the amount of debt racked up during the pandemic. IMHO I don’t see RCG putting extra money in either ship other than just standard maintenance to keep them in service. Focus will now be the S class moving forward.

On our last cruise 11 years ago, my DH and I requested to be seated at a larger table in the MDR with other passengers (old school)😀.   In the past it had always been a good and enhancing part of our cruise experience.  There was  a couple who were frequent cruises and they boasted how they had learned to complain frequently so that they would be comped extra perks.  We watched them repeatedly complain about the food at every meal (sending things back and demanding the meals be remade), weak drinks, slow service, etc.  demanding to speak to the maitre d and sure enough, they received future cruise credits, on board cash, bottles of wine etc.  We were embarrassed and even though we didn’t know them, we felt shame and felt like we wanted to be even nicer to the staff to make up for their bad behavior.  This really wasn’t fair to us either because it would have been nice to just enjoy the food and service, naturally.  This time around we will request a table for 2 and if we make friends onboard that we would like to dine with one night, maybe we will splurge with them for a specialty restaurant dinner.

The cruise lines have caught up with cruisers like this. There was a person who used to post here on CC and she and her family always complained to the point where RCG banned them for life. Last I saw she had become a MSC cruiser.

  10. Agree that it’s not just on cruises but I have witnessed this behavior on just about every cruise line and not just the suite area. The worst has been on Royal Caribbean in the now Crown lounge by Crown and Anchor guests who felt their importance. Guests talking down to crew members, snapping their fingers and ordering them around like they were their personal servant. Very sad. It’s one reason that we avoid the past guest and suite lounges at all costs. There will almost always be a few that are trying to one up another on who they know and how many cruises they have taken with said cruise line. It’s disgusting.

  11. We now cruise between the two. Our last few X cruises have not been what we experienced in the past. Especially the Retreat. IMHO RCI has better perks for the past guests.

Since the restart, I would rate the two lines close in service with RCI being ahead of X in entertainment. Both are great cruise lines which is why we go back and forth between the two.

  12. Not going to read this entire thread. I have read of “one” incident where RCI had to turn guests away which was in Australia. Booking a ship at over 100% capacity is not the same as overselling. Many ships go out each sailing at over 100% capacity since many third and fourth berths are booked. Other than the Australia situation, I have not read of any other situations. I guess when it comes to choosing your own stateroom, is the glass half full or half empty? I look at it as paying less for allowing the cruise line to choose my stateroom. If a person has an issue with any business then they should take it up with that business and if they’re still not satisfied then in fact move on. Read any of the cruise boards here and cruising has and continues to change. Some good and other areas perceived as being not as good. When the time comes that I no longer enjoy the product then I will choose to find something that we like better.

    Rest of post snipped……

Navigator is not young but she is in fine condition and with the excellent service is a great sail - had a nice winter break and will repeat next year.

Glad that you enjoyed the NV. One of our favorite ships. Love having her close to home.
