How about an indoor pool the Crown/Island has one. Plus they are not crowded.:D

We also have over 27 cruises on Princess going back over twenty years and have never, repeat never seen a passenger being overly rude to a crew member. Not to say it doesn't happen. But for someone to go and jump overboard is some place off the chart in troubled behavior.

We went on this thing when it was brand new think 2006 and since that time I have been posting how crowded this tub was. But don't post much any more. IMO just not enough that interest me.

How can anybody find a ship with as poor a space ratio at this one and her sisters? But some do. And the Royal is a little better but not much.

But still IMO Princess has a good product and some very good ships and as long as they do we will go on them. Up coming in March the Coral, then in Sept the Pacific. And are reviews will be short and sweet. Great cruise and food.

A little research could have avoided this thread completely.

"Secrets to a Flat Tummy" seminars are marketing tools for expensive product. Staff are on commission to sell it , but the talk is interesting.

And IMHO a complete waist of time her or on board.

While on the Ruby I heard folks chatting about this, while I agree there needs to be something we need to think about this for a minute, the reason there are so many Elites is that we are all cruising more, so every day more Elites.

So we have Super Elites, in a few years do we then have this debate again and then Super Super Elites, then there is the issue of what perks to give.

So heres a thought for you all,

A new top level of captains circle , call it what you want but lets use an old name the Commodore Club.

How to get in, you must be in the top 50 most travelled on a cruise of 10 days or more.

you get a new colour of card.

So what perks ,

well club lunch or cocktail party as captains time dictates

a second party, say hosted by circle host but have ships dancers to dance with members no free drinks but allow members to bring a guest, again may be a formal event, timed to last a full evening ,may be split over two nights to allow early and late diners to attend

Breakfast at Sabainti for the top 50 onboard only, now some will be in suites, some will be travelling with family and friends and will not want to leave them.

A club lunch open to all but restricted by number to be held either in port or onboard a ship while in port, say a couple in the US and in Europe per year with CEO or similar to attend etc black tie event allow Princess to make announcements to this group first.

Then some vouchers, $5 of a bottle of wine, a free meal in the Crown or similar, a one day pass to the Sanctuary , $50 voucher of a future cruise, $10 off a shorex trip.

Any other ideas folks

Free laundry is a huge perk.

The mini's on the Dawn, Sea, Sun, are two rooms with a curtain separating them they also have a double balcony. They are a little pricey though.

Pam's picture must be the day she moved in, ours never looked that neat.

That is the only negative response I have read on a Chef's Table. We did ours on the Island last August and it was outstanding, and will do another on the Golden next month.

However, if something is not as it should be we will say something which is what you should do IMO.:eek:.

For us it comes down to one thing. You meaning the tour guide of what ever tour we are on give us a good informative and enjoyable tour we always give a generous tip.

Fortunately, I have an advanced math degree and can easily smell a rip off by thinking about the basic gaming economics. Clearly, I won't be playing cruise line bingo any more. However, I feel sick to my stomach for other travelers many of which are seniors and may not understand exactly why the Princess bingo structure is such a rip off for them. Since cruise ship gaming is essentially unregulated, there are no state gaming commissions to enforce disclosure or reasonable protections for consumers. I can pretty much guarantee that such a gaming structure would not survive any reasonable fairness test.

Sure, there is a "high" to participating in a jackpot bingo game in a crowded cruise ship lounge, but for me that benefit does not mean I'm willing to give away money. On top of that is the sinking feeling that most of the room has no idea how badly their being taken. I can guarantee you that if the pot actually got bigger with ticket sales, the customer satisfaction with bingo would actually increase.

It would be one thing if the cruise ships take were merely an obscenely large percentage (like 90 percent), but its another thing entirely when the passenger's upside is completely limited. No matter how many tickets Princess sells, that first game is worth -- $100 dollars. (that's about a sofa or two worth of ticket sales). I even witnessed a $125 dollar pot split six ways! This means even the winners lost money!

Finally, it's fine to say -- its your choice, don't participate. But don't forget that there is a finite amount of space and time on any voyage. Every vista-lounge-hour spent swindling passengers out of bingo money, is another hour lost for things like cultural lectures, cooking demos, and other forms of non-revenue entertainment.

More generally, I would almost rather pay a little more $$ for my cruise on a truly all inclusive cruise line than spend the entire cruise feeling that the cruise line is trying to maximize its revenue from me with bogus bingo games, art auctions, jewelry sales, shore excursions (aka more jewelry sales), internet charges, etc... I fear that cruising will eventually turn into the vacation equivalent of a 10 day "time share" sales pitch.

Please don't feel sorry for us poor seniors we can very well take care of our selves. Just speak for your self.

If I want to play bingo for entertainment that is my business. Or have you with your advanced degree figured out the profit on a $10.00 martini?

Also I suspect a great majority of those seniors can well afford to play bingo, or pay for their mini or full suite even after this October. It's called cruising and entertainment.

Lastly please go on your all inclusive cruise and spend a little more money. If you can find one. Or maybe you can Seaborne.
