I think they applied the service charge to our promo package at final payment. It wasn't listed when we booked, but later. Also, maybe because your cruise is in 2017, they are waiting to see if it gets higher.

We had a Mr Coffee type last year. Don't know if any were changed in the work done earlier this year. It used coffee packs which were refilled daily. It made about 2-3 cups.
I didn't see any space for a pull out bed, just the sofa/bed.

We gathered in the Bliss lounge and were escorted off the ship to a waiting area in the terminal. After a short wait, we were allowed back on. Only problem was that not much of anything was open and we couldn't get back to our rooms easily.

They are. I think it was around the 90-day mark for our April cruise that it appeared on the website for booked guests.

We were on a B2B earlier this year and had the same thing happen. We went from gold to platinum during the first leg. Perhaps because I said nothing, we were not given anything. I had read that B2B's were considered as one cruise, so the change wasn't official until the end of the cruise.

Another thing I was wondering about. Can just one person in the cabin purchase the package? I seem to remember something about both needing to get it, but that might have just been with the promo.

Cool, better deal than here then :). Good for you.

If it were me, I'd check to make sure that isn't for the pay yourself package and not the "free" promo. Just being cautious since the extra charge for us is due at final payment.

Yes, It's like a small Mr. Coffee type brewer. I think it is about a 2-3 cup size. There are coffee packets (regular and decaf) that contain a bag made of same kind of paper as tea bags. You put that in the coffee holder and the water drips through. If you are bringing coffee bags (the tea bag kind), it should work fine. Just run water with nothing in the holder.

Also be aware that you might have to pay a charge based on the number of days of your cruise (service charge). For our 10-day it is $115.30 pp.

One more thing for those of you who "kind of" asked about a "per drink" tip - The Bartenders actually do receive an 18% gratuity for each drink that you receive while on board - If you are paying per drink, YOU are the one paying that Gratuity - If you have the UBP Norwegian is actually paying the gratuity.
The cruise lines came up with the "average" cost and gratuity long before they decided to offer that UBP, and I'm sure that - in the long run - they believe that they are at least coming up even, or they would never have given us the option.
Be aware, as I think has been stated, if you have the UBP as a promo item, you will be charged the gratuity fee payable at final payment. It is based on number of nights (for a 10-night cruise it's $115.20 pp).

We will be on the Gem in April. First time as Platinum level. I've been told that since both of us are at that level, we will be entitled to two dinners at Le Bistro and 2 bags of laundry. Also, that there are other dining choices that can be used instead of Le Bistro. Is this true and if so, which choices? Thanks.

on this same type of thing- my daughter and I would like to do the chinese/sushi place on monday when we are in Florida- do you think i will need a reservation or that most of the people will be off of the ship?
I don't think you should have a problem just walking in.

Thank you very much for your time and effort to post all your pics and commentaries. I'm sitting here looking at our suitcases and anticipating getting aboard tomorrow even more because of you.

If you buy liquor on the first leg of a B2B, will they automatically hold it until the last night of the second leg?

Going on the Gem in June. We do not have the UPD but we want to try a couple of the specialty restaurants. Do I need to book them in advance or will there be some reservations available on embarkation?
You might want to try the online route. With the UPD plan, I am imagining a lot of reservations have already been made.

I have checked in, but my printer is broken. I believe they can print this up at the dockside. Is this correct?
I'm not sure, but I think the only thing you can get dockside is luggage tags.

Does anyone know if the only outlet in a mini-suite on the Gem is the one at the desk? Trying to figure out how long an extension cord I'll need for my concentrator.

On previous cruises, I noticed that when you ordered a drink in Miami, you were charged a local sales tax.
It's the same in NYC.

There is a bridge viewing room on deck 11. I think it might be port side.

Another thing about driving in Boston if you're not familiar with it is that sometimes road signs are lacking and the streets are not exactly a grid :P. We wasted a lot of time driving in circles looking for things and decided we'd never rent a car there again.

Does NCL offer any kind of a prepaid laundry package? We've done this on several HAL cruises and found it worthwhile.

Hello! Thanks for the answer to all my questions! Viewing forum we have seen that in some outlets offer the service to carry the suitcases to the airport in the Eurodam so do?Because it would be great for us! Another thing, the arrival is timely to Copenhagen? The landing is fast? We arrived at 10, and there is a tour Sandemans at 11, and we doubt if we will.
Ah! And the theme taxis in Copenhagen harbor such? We have read that is a little chaos. Thank you very much again! You're very kind!
There is a service on the ship to ship your baggage to the airport and I think check it in for your flight. Don't know the cost, but just check with the front desk the first day. If you are flying in to Copenhagen and landing at 10, I wouldn't count on a tour at 11 unless it leaves from the airport then.

The Explorer4 card is the one with the $50.00 per day, per person package. We had it on a 26 day TA and used it everyday. We mostly got wine and beer with ours, and never used them up every day!
There are two packages offered depending on the cruise; the $50 per day or the Signature Beverage (15 drinks per day). We had the Signature one on our 12-day Baltic. Any drinks as long as they were under $7.

Two years ago, we had to wait to do that until we were on board (MDR's only). Then we had to do it each day and basically was in the Magenta at 5:30. We had 9
