  1. Thank you for taking the time to post this review.   We will be doing the same (minus Key West) itinerary in February on the Silhouette as well.

I was especially pleased to hear that you enjoyed your cabin as we have the same one booked for  B2B for 2019 and 2020.   I also like to sit in the shade and often can’t find one on the pool decks, especially on sea days.....and a quick 2 flights down to Cafe al Bacio for a morning cappuccino!    We have been in 1As before but never with the bed by the balcony as this one is......how did you like that?

  2. Take a pool “noodle” and a partial roll of duct tape and tape it along the edge of the bed onto the mattress, under the bottom sheet. I have used this for the past 3 years at our house for the grandkids and my daughter uses this method at home as well. It is enough of a hump to prevent them rolling off the bed and very lightweight to pack in your suitcase.

  3. On the Royal the chairs on the extended balconies do recline but there were NO foot stools (rests) available. Tried to get 2 and inquired at passenger services and they basically told us we were out of luck.:o:o:o

Thanks for your reply.....that’s what I was expecting. Too bad when there is room on the balcony that they aren’t provided. It is my escape from the crowded sun decks on sea days especially

  4. I have a small inflatable footrest that I will bring but it will need to be propped up on something in order to raise my legs up enough. I think it has a height of only about 6” but it will work if I put it on my carryon suitcase I suppose. Testing it out on this cruise. If not, the beachball sounds like a good alternative. Thanks for the suggestion!

  5. I have been using a Kipling carry on for over 20 years and it has the outside pockets I need to either put my jacket in or my iPad (will hold a computer as well), plus a small zip that I store a small luggage scale in and on the back is another pocket that I keep a file folder of our travel documents in (hotel accommodations, cruise boarding pass, flight arrangements, etc.....just not my passport).

It has very rugged zippers and the fabric shows no sign of wear after many flights and weekend trips. I only just replaced it a couple of years ago with the 4 wheel spinner model but will not part with the 2 wheeled version in order to have it for those rougher terrains I may encounter on some trips.

I am VERY particular about my carry on and 2nd personal bag/purse. I have many other Kipling bags and can attest t their wearability and functionality. Very well designed and many options to select what is right for you.

  6. For carryon bags, handbags and purses I can’t find anything better than Kipling bags. I have a very old Kipling carryon that has travelled the world with me and shows no sign of wear. (This goes for all of my Kipling handbags or backbacks...they are remarkable.) I only replaced it a few years ago for one that has the 4 wheel spinner wheels.

Can’t part with the old one yet as it was so reliable and still in great shape. Pricy, yes, but very durable, great zippers and outer pockets, which is very important to me.

  7. Bus transport is easy and cheap....take the L10 bus from the bus terminal located right scross the street as you exit from the cruise port out onto the main street. You can buy a round trip ticket for $5.00 per person. Get off at either Eagle Beach (fewer amenities but less crowded) or carry on to Palm Beach. Go to the De Palm Pier (ask bus driver to notify you when to get off) where you can rent a lounge chair and umbrella or enjoy a drink or lunch at the Bugaloe restaurant at the end of the pier. Water and sandy beach are amazing.

  8. Returned last weekend from 14 day Southern Caribbean onboard the Eclipse. Nicer towels than were on pool deck were left in our stateroom (an inside csbin) the night before a port day. We used them once and returned them to cabin. Fresh towels were left again but we never used them. Could be because we had a "concierge steward" and he was used to providing this service. I must say he was excellent and made having this stay in an inside cabin (late booking) not a hardship.... cabins are the same minus the daylight, which did make us sleep in later than usual but we viewed as a guilty pleasure after a couple of days.

  9. We also stayed at this hotel precruise on celebrity equinox departing Oct 2 Great location, wonderful front desk staff and comfortable beds. Request a room at the back to avoid street noise at the front.

We opted for the room with breakfast included when booking through booking.com and it was well worth it for the convenience.

i would most certainly return to this hotel.

We did the Hop on Hop off bus for our one full day in Barcelona and felt it gave us a very good overview of the entire city.

Word of caution..... beer and wine are reasonably priced, but we were taken on ordering Sangria (not on Las Ramblas....but a couple, of blocks off) Beers were €6, but upon getting the bill (and at a litttle baguette shop to boot!) we were charged €16 for one glass of sangria!!!

Just he sure to ask the price before ordering! I thought I had all the scams covered, but I guess I let my guard down after a full day of touring. We just wanted a quick bite before retiring.

Later in the cruise we had a very full lunch today f 2 very large personal size pizzas and 3 local beers for under €15 total on our visit to Malta, but this lunch was on the island of Gozo.

  10. Silly question, I suppose....but can OBC given as part of 123 promo be used to pay gratuities? We are late seating, so gratuities are not automatically charged
