  1. I originally was looking at inside cabin for the kids but because we waited until January to book for a March cruise my options were limited to get the rooms in close proximity. Fortunately, I kept checking the price and the day of final payment that Boardwalk room dropped $1100. It does pay to keep checking prices ha!

    WOW thats awesome

  2. We are a family of 5 and have done three cruises with the kids, one time Disney in family suite and two times RC with two rooms. We found the two room setup much nicer. Our upcoming cruise on Oasis we have an oceanview balcony and kids across the hall in Boardwalk balcony.

Did you find it much more expensive to go from a non balcony to Boardwalk balcony or did you have your mind made up what you wanted? So you paid what it costs?

  3. If you want to save the most money: connecting interiors.

I am sure you are correct. Im not looking for the cheapest necessarily.

Who out there got an unbelievable deal. ie Got two balconies cheaper than a balcony cabin for 5. Or we got this Cabin for 5 cheaper than any other possibility but there is so few of those so you better act quick. I would like a balcony in some shape or form.

I am looking for the golden ticket room.

  4. Me and my family are going on the IOS on November 21 and were wondering if anyone had a list of Do Not Miss while we are on board. There are so many different things going on, but I would like to get out and do some fun stuff.

We are 46,47 and the boys are 11 and 10 and my daughter is 11.

Thank you for your assistance and ideas!

How many of the suggestions did you use and did you have any to add?

  5. If this is for kids and if the kids didn't meet height, age restrictions to do the waterslides then maybe the Anthem for Dreamworks would be better but I know my kids would choose the waterslides without hesitating.

What are the height and age restrictions?

  6. Carnivals new ship Vista has waterslides and a coaster of sorts. What does RC have to compete with that. We are looking at doing a family cruise, ages 6 - 70, my sister is pushing for the Vista and I would like to try an RC cruise. My parents are RC cruisers and comment that they don't really care what cruise line just as long as we are together for supper. So give me some good comments/arguments why we should do RC over Carnival Vista. 6 kids under the age of 12, 1 teenager and 9 adults.

I need what ship you suggest and why. Thank you

  7. We have found many times that it has been cheaper for our family of 4 to get 1 balcony and an inside across the hall for cheaper than it would be for all 4 of us in a balcony.

Really, WOW. It would seem odd to get 2 cabins for 2 cheaper than 1 for 4. Usually 3rd and 4th guest is cheaper than 1 & 2. That is awesome. We really liked the idea of the cabin we found on IOS, separate sleeping room for the kids away from Dad and mom. All 5 of us for 5 days during Christmas break for $3600.

  8. We booked a cruise on IOS and found a neat cabin (8200) for 5. It is a Family Oceanview. Now I am looking to book a cruise on Oasis Class ship ( I think they are a neat looking ship). Is there any hidden gems for cabins that I should be looking at for 5 (DH DW DD15,DS12,DD10) you know the ones that fill up fast cause smart people use Cruisecritic for info?

  9. I have the same problem. I tossed back and forth on what to do for a cabin. I like the FH Suites but hate the location. I have cruised some and I know the unwritten rule "Avoid rooms under the galley". So we decided to go with a balcony and a interior, it actually turned out to be the cheapest route.

Got luck making your decision. There is plusses and minuses to both scenario.

I don't have a floorpan but these are the only photo's I've seen from the Carnival website of the Family Harbor Suites.

According to these pics it looks like there is an accordion style wall that goes around the couch area to make a room. That would make sleeping for number 3 and 4. My question is where is the bed for the 5th?
