  1. Has anyone booked an inside guarantee on the Divina? Were you happy with your cabin and/or upgrade? How soon did you receive your cabin number? Thanks!

I booked w/ MSC direct the last two cruises on the Poesia and got an inside guar. I got moved up to an outside. This time they would only give me an assigned cabin, - Divina, so I think I have less chance. I don't know how it works w/ MSC. Most lines gives preference to those who have traveled with them before as I had when I had the guar. However I have traveled Carnival 18 times and never once had an upgrade.

I found out about the cabin several wks. bef. when it was on my MSC reg. on line.

  2. Thanks, that helps. I guess I have a few months to learn all about this ship.. I'm just so excited!! I can't believe the price of this cruise! When I saw that price I told my husband I didn't care if it was a horrible cruise, I figured I could eat that much in food :). But I'm sure it will be a wonderful cruise!!

OH it won't be horrible. It will open up your world. It's divine!

  3. Yeah that's kind of how I feel, we can enjoy the ports with the extra money. I will enjoy the cruise, I'm not real picky. I just hope my friends do.

But you can't really not take advantage of that price!

take the plunge - it's a fabulous line. My fourth time in Sept. Come with us. Sept. 13. We are taking friends also.I am confident they will like it, esp. the shows. Not to be missed. I have done all the other lines, I am really impressed with MSC. What's not to love? You have a week of no work or cooking!

    See you Sept. 13.

  4. Y0u can buy spirits, booze, etc from Bon Voyage PRIOR to sailing. Order at least one week ahead. Need your name, book. no., sailing date and ship.

The booze is pricy but if you want to drink in your cabin prior to dinner this is the best bet.

    Call during business hours. 800 533 7648

Google Carnival Bon Voyage for prices and amounts.

All spirits are in a one liter bottle and about $65.

  5. Hi, my friends and I are going on the MSC Divina for 7 nights to the Western Caribbean on March 8. Does anyone know if there are themed nights (like a White night, Italian night)??? I know there are 2 formal nights, but I was wondering if there was anything else besides that. Just trying to figure out what to pack, any other suggestions would be great.. I've been on one other cruise years ago. Thanks!

Yes, the have an Italian and White night.

  6. trying to register online with birth certificate and can't get past 1st page. apparently i am inputting "issue" date and "expiration" date incorrectly. does anyone know how to do this? help please

Think you need a passport. The only ship out of US in Miami states on my recent confirmation that a passport is required.

  7. Sorry to ask this but the search function is disabled so I just want to know whether or not I am allowed to take some vodka on board and if not how strictly is the ban enforced. Thanks.

I think I found the answer on the South African site to be that I can't, but is it enforced in Cape Town?

Can't take anything on board. Not even wine as other lines allow. Look into the vouchers for drinks.

  8. There are adequate plugs. Our electronic toothbrushes just needed a few hours and held a charge for the ipad to recharge and some other electronic. We had no problems.

Outstanding review Cam. Sailing on the Divina Sept. 13. We have sailed the Opera and the Poisia. (twice.) We were on a Poesia sailing with you a few years back.

    Love MSC too.

  9. Thanks for the tip. We will be on the Ecstasy at the end of March for a weekend getaway. Any more tips/advice about the ship?

Lots smaller than the ships you have listed. I love the Fantasy class, esp. for a quick get away. Good service.

I try to grab those smaller ships for a get away when I see a great price.

  10. Hi the cruise that fit our schedule only have B3 available which means deck 12 or deck 13.

I wonder if anyone here will know which one is good or which one should avoid.

    Thank you!

Check the deck plan and stay away from a cabin with a public area above. Try to look for cabins above you.

  11. Thanks for the answers!! I am so disappointed, I went to purchase this groupon today and it was sold out...I hope they do another one..I mean sailing MSC would really be something I would love to do, but I do love getting deals. I will keep watching this employee pricing thing too! Thanks everyone for the tips!

Keep watching - MSC is an amazing line. We have cruised over 30 times and really love this line.

Go to MSC web site, best way to do it.

  12. We're trying to plan a wedding/honeymoon. With all of that going on it is difficult to nail down a date. But I think we're getting close.

    Thanks for your helpful response.

You can get a refund up until the last 2 mos.

  13. Wass getting ready to book on the Divinia for one of the October deals. The prices almost doubled since yesterday. Bad luck for me. I'll probably have to go on another line.

Sign up for their emails for specials. They may be back. They work diff. than other cruise lines. I booked yesterday for Sept. Now everything is gone. I couldn't get the lowest price, but still did well.

  14. WE have sailed MSC 3 times, all in the Carib. - in Europe your client will be mostly European.

All announcements are in 5 languages.

Food is subjective, however if you are an adventuresome eater, you may like it. Lots of unusual food with sauces. I like it bec. it is N. Italian food. (not red sauces and pizza.) The buffet is very good.

I don't remember many extra fees. Drinking water is available at all meals.

Shows are outstanding, all live and mostly non verbal since the crowd is so mixed.

    Beautiful and outstanding décor.

Rooms are ample but not as big as CARNIVAL.

    .

The prices are LOW in Sept. I would go in a heartbeat, but we live in FL and absolutely hate the drive to Miami.

If you have traveled abroad I would say go for it, if you have only traveled the US and are not very adventuresome, it may be a stretch for you.

The staff is polite but does not fall all over you like the American cruise lines.

  15. Does anyone know anything about cove cabin #'s 2248 and 2273 on the Dream? I see they are located in the same area, just on opposite sides of the ship. Also, does anyone have a favorite cove cabin? Or the worst cove cabin? Thx for all your input.

I had 2256 and loved it. They are wonderful if you love being near the water.
