  1. I was really shocked when booking regarding the NONREFUNDABLE, we are Elite on Celebrity and first time we've seen this!

We booked with a TA for May 2019 and she gave us refundable and several price cuts or we may not have booked at all. We have cruised almost yearly lately so this must be new.

  2. This would be great for us, we are B2B on Constellation next May, we are Elite but also non-alcohol drinkers, big cappucino & espresso drinkers however. So this means we could get our coffee drinks throughout the day if there were vouchers or on our card. Or do I have this wrong, maybe I need a drink?!

  3. We are booked on the same cruise on Silhouette in Sept 2016 and are not too sure what to do. Although it is almost a year away we are the next Celebrity Cruise scheduled to go to Ashdod and Haifa. I don't want to get into the situation where we pay the final balance and then the ports are changed as those 2 ports are the reason we had planned to take this cruise. Any advice welcome.

We are on that same cruise and in the same boat BeeEss, so to speak. Our plans are to wait 3 months prior to cruise, see what's in the news, see how much prices have dropped (we received a $1700 refund Monday) if they drop enough to warrant seeing nothing but the Med again, we will hang in and go.

Make sure you apply for that price drop from Monday! We saved on 1 Concierge and 1 Inside cabin = $1700

  4. Really?? Tell me what you would do for two days and a night on your fourth stop in Athens? Once you have been to the Acropolis, there really isn't much else of interest. Shopping for junk in the Plaka?

If the State Department have issued a warning against traveling to Israel, I would take Celebrity's position more seriously!

I have had ports of call changed on almost every cruise I've ever taken. It's never been a big deal. But this IS a big deal, this is a very unique itinerary and the only thing different about it is the Israel ports. That's what makes it so disappointing. And to add insult to injury, they waited until the very last minute to make the announcement. Obviously they have been planning this for a while, since they have had time to add these additional ports, and it would really have been nice if they would've alerted us before we left home!

Yes, that 12 hour notice is obvious as I said in an earlier post. I believe we will cancel 3 months out because we purchased Israel Med and when I added family to our reservation it is called Eastern Med with same itinerary! It appears they already plan on skipping Israel, we booked only for Israel. Must plan land trip.

  5. I am not blaming Celebrity for cancelling the Israel stops, although I have been assured by two Israeli tour guides that there is nothing to worry about if the correct precautions are taken

My problem is that no imagination has gone into the replacement stops

We would have been looking at five hot and sunny days, this has been replaced by high teens low twenties places that most people who have cruised in that region have visited several times

So, a cold cruise rather than a hot one to places that are always much cheaper than this cruise to visit on any number of ships and cruise lines

You hit the nail on the head, this cruise is more costly and they told you 12 HOURS in advance? Too late to cancel for people like us who must fly to port, leave home more than 12 hours prior! We are booked on Israel Med for 9/2016 with our family, their reservation says East Med, I guess that should tell me something.

  6. We were on Reflection last May and yes, there was more rocking, it was a TA and my first time needing an assessible cabin so thought it was just me. I was extra cautious due to my condition, I do get sea sick and drank several ginger ales.

Definitely prepare, ginger snaps, pills and ale always works for me, I don't like to be sleepy.

  7. Do check on the acessible room, I have needed one for last cruise and probably all future ones. They are lovely and large, bathroom especially wonderful, better than I have at home.

Wheelchairs are available if you ask early. The room description will tell you all the benefits. If not needed then leave it but don't be afraid if you do, you are treated very well, as expected.

  8. Its not just the wee and the poop. I choose the adults only pools to avoid being splashed, bombed, hit with balls, squirted with water guns, no high pitched screaming, no running, no tantrums and so I dont have to listen to inane baby talk by adults.

I have 2 grown children - I have moved on from that and when I go on holidays, I dont need to relive it!

I also have no qualms in pointing out the pool rules or asking to speak to the Deck Officer in charge.

Yeah a post after my own heart, agree, agree!!!:D

  9. We'll be on a cruise to Iceland this summer and got a nice OBC from.our TA.

We would like to book the Golden Circle tour but now I wonder: do.we have to pay it immediately if we book it now? In that case it would be better to wait until we're on board, on the other hand I'm a bit worried that the tour might sell out.

We also booked that cruise and trying for days to book that excursion as well as 3 others, it takes the reservation but never shows up on our account as booked. It has a blurb when you reserve that says you should pay or you may lose it, so I guess we need to pay right when reserved

I don't like to pay so early but I suppose you would get a refund if you cancel in good time. Celebrity holding $900 of my dough is not inviting either.

  10. I agree with your comments. On our last celebrity cruise (April 2013 equinox) the brunch and the elite tea were just fair. In fact, after that cruise my husband decided he never wanted dinner in Blu . Maybe the food was just fair fleet wide

Back on topic-the gala buffet was not very good. Plus, the way folks attacked the food was a bit disgusting.

    M

Yes, we found it unappetising this past April on Reflection. I had bragged it up to my daughter and then it was like a very pretty trough, pushing and jumping in front of you (I use a cane) so I just sat down and watched. Would never go again.
