  1. Hi gg

these 2 hotels are across the road from each other. The Pan is the hotel above the cruise ship terminal. Both are absolutely gorgeous hotels.

There is a starbucks in the lobby of the Pan Pacific there another starbucks in the concourse underground walkway below the fairmont that goes across to the convention centre/Pan Pacific. Vancouver is a coffee kind of city - There are many great coffee places in Vancouver...starbucks aplenty + many others.

Stanley park is a fast 20 minute walk or a slow 30 minute walk along the seawall..or use one of the many kinds of tours that go there or the local city buses or catch a cab. You're in a great location.

for breakfast, the hotels are notoriously expensive, but there is a good food fair in the concourse attached to the fairmont waterfront. lots of places to choose from in there & not all fast-food...I'd go there from both hotels.

  2. Hi A&W

there are lots of restaurants a few blocks in either direction on davie.

+ you're not far (3 or 4 blocks) from "yaletown" a very trendy/hip part of town & there's a "choices" food market on Richards..it's got quite good selection.

the only "sights" that are within walking distance are the beaches & the cute little ferries that take you across to granville island.

the rest you can do on public transit - or there are a couple of hop on hop off tourist bus companies that take you to most things that you mentioned... bigbus & the trolley company.

looks like big bus stops close to your hotel (near stop #7 on this map) http://bigbus.ca/staticpages/index.php?page=route probably the vancouver trolley company does too.

  3. are you going there in the evening?

It's a fairly lengthy cab ride to richmond (about 1/2 hour)... does your hotel have a shuttle to the airport? if they do, you could shuttle to their & then take a cab to the riverrock (just a 5 minute drive from the airport)

....there are lots of hotels close by the riverrock though... you might want to consider staying near their instead?

  4. gambler.... If you can stay at any of the 3, I'd pick the westin bayshore for sure... gorgeous hotel, close to stanley park. the other 2 are okay, but the locations aren't nearly as nice.

your difference in travel time that early in the morning will be at most 20 minutes. imho staying at the bayshore is worth getting up earlier.

(driving time from the bayshore to the airport at 5 or 5:30 am for your early flight would be a little under 1/2 hour...you won't have much traffic at all) from the other westin...shave maybe 5 minutes off the drive if that. from the richmond four points... the drive will be 10 to 15 minutes.
