We've used Airola eSim in North America but I like to use a physical SIM in Europe. Just store your Canada SIM safely and use a prepaid SIM .
On a cruise your cellphone will connect to the ship network but with a prepaid SIM it won't give service. If your Canadian SIM is still installed and active you could get some very high connection and roaming charges.
-
True but we only used onshore and for a 12 night cruise more than sufficient for our needs.

We've used a physical 3UK SIM ordered from Amazon in Canada before we leave. Change SIM card while on plane and it works on arrival. Works in UK and EU countries. 25 GB for $30/Cdn. Doesn't work while you are underway unless close to shore.

I replied on your other post as well
We self -disembarked Britannia in April. We had a breakfast in the main dining room( buffet was crazy busy) and were off the ship by 0725. I'm sure if you skipped breakfast you could be off even earlier. We actually walked to the coach terminal and were there about 8 and took the National Express Coach direct to Heathrow and arrived at 11AM. The Southampton train station is in the same general area. Train will take you to Waterloo station in London or to Gatwick while coach will take you to Heathrow. There was no delay for customs in Southampton. We overnighted at a Heathrow area hotel before an early morning flight back to Canada.
We've been watching the prices on your cruise and may book it yet

Thanks for all the quick answers!
Cathy - are alteration services available at M&S? I know I'd be buying off the rack but I have never been able to get the correct inseam.
I just checked and M&S actually has an online Canadian site with free shipping and customs.

We are from Canada and thinking of trying P&O. It appears the only way we can book is through a travel agent in the US which I'm not keen on doing, but here are a some questions after searching I haven't come up with answers to.
1. Breakfast - I've found information on breakfast items but not locations served - is it just available in the buffet and room service or is it also available in main dining room?
2. Auto Tips/Service charge - I see they have been removed for May 2019 onward. Will individual tipping in cash still done or expected. North American question I know.
2. Black Tie nights. Would a dark suit be acceptable. My one and only tux was for a QE2 crossing 19 years ago and long gone. Recent cruises have been either suit, sports jacket or not at all. I don't have a use for one other than this cruise. Tux prices are riduculous in Canada - the rental market seems to have taken over. It would be cheaper to buy a Marks and Spencer or similar and pay for shipping to Canada but not sure of the quality.
Finally - any comments from Canadians who have cruised P&O. Thank you in advance.

While it may be the legal purchase age it isn't necessarily the consumption age as it differs from state to state.21 is the drinking age in the US, irrespective of where you live ;). We have an 18yr old that is able to drink legally on European cruises but cannot consume alcohol on our US sailings.Sent from my Moto G (5) Plus using Forums mobile app

Well it everyone wants an investigation how about a sanitation inspection on arrival..maybe find some broken glass in the kitchen

So if I were to be a Senior Business Travel Consultant I would be special and have superior web skills, but my cruise would still be chartered out and I'd have the same OBC

If you don't mind a B&B check out Casa Marcello. Great location

Wow an entree being served already when they were only 10-15 late

Fine dining and MDR don't normally belong in the same sentence. A dining experience yes, whether it's good or bad is what you make of it

Well after reading through all the posts I know two things
Cash is king and now I understand the size of some of the suitcases.. They must be full of gifts for the crew

Taxi from BCN airport to center city is 29.50 plus 3.5 euro surcharge. We were there in March. If you feel like public transportation remember you may have to change Terminals to get to it. If you are going to use the Metro while there you could purchase a T10 card for 9.95 euro and it is shareable. You can actually get from the airport to the city center for one ticket each so 2 euros.. Depends how you feel after the long flight

I agree cruising is not the value it once was. We cruised the Spirit last month out of Barcelona last minute so both UDP and UBP were included. I would not purchase either standalone as even with the inflated alcohol prices we could not possibly spend what the package costs. As far as the speciality restaurants go - the food was for the most part ok, not better than a shore restaurant and if the service we received happened on shore it is doubtful we would return to that restaurant. The food quality in the specially restaurants only just reaches what used to be available in main dining rooms on our first cruise in 2000.
We did however love the ship. We had a great cruise so I don't want to give the impression we didn't - it's just the value is no longer there in ocean cruises.
-
Carry on always. We just returned in March from a ten day cruise out of Barcelona with two days before and three after. We had four total flight segments but with weather and the Lufthansa strike we ended up on five in total flight segments, none original
-
We got off the Spirit in March. We ate only one supper in the MDR and service was terrible although to be fair it was the first night. I can't say the service was very good in the specialty restaurants either - drink service was especially poor. We had both UDP and UBP
-
We were on the Spirit this month 9152 glass front on the balcony

I didn't receive an email for our Mar 6 on the Spirit however we did prepay when booking
Cruise Insurance Question for US Citizens
in P&O Cruises ( UK )
Posted
We are from Canada and took a P&O cruise last year booked through the North American travel agency. We bought the insurance they sold - it satisfied the online form filling and were never asked at the port for anything else.
