To me a cruise where I can't go outside sucks! They had 8 days with 33ft waves and high winds all the time! It is not only the cold temperature that can suck!

We did a crossing in December 2022, Lisbon to NY, 9 straight days of rough seas, no ports, outside decks all closed, rain, wind and 35-45 ft seas. It wasn’t enjoyable and I don’t think I’d do it in the winter again.

Sorry you met some crappy Pins. Not sure why some people let “status” go to their heads, but DH and I are the same as we were before we made Pin. I’ve met many nice Pins and maybe we will have a chance to cruise with you.

I feel that a small group of Pinnacles give the rest of us a bad reputation unfortunately.

  3. I made the mistake of trying to use 75,000 points for a companion fare, which it says can be up to $1500. The problem is they remove all the discounts from your booking before applying the $1500 thereby making it worth about $900 in the end. I wouldn’t try to use them that way again. I have never tried for the free cruise.

Has anyone canceled the drink package upgrade using their onboard credit?? Same situation here as we are now Zenith. Do you get your onboard credit back to your onboard account??

Just did this the other day. The OBC was restored within 24 hours.

Luminae and sundeck access would cost them the same amount it costs them for suite guests.

I think Celebrity was smart in limiting access to Luminae. Royal has a huge problem now with all the Pinnacles and Coastal Kitchen. There are so many Pinnacles now (due in part to the double points they gave away so freely) that only the top x amount are allowed to eat there on some sailings, and even this can be a problem. Last sailing on Anthem in a GS there was a waiting line outside of Coastal every night and some of the suite guests were none too happy about it. I would say half of the people in the restaurant were wearing pins.

Too late to edit. Clarification, it's most likely going to be Prima, Aqua, or possibly the Pearl in Jan 2026. My spouse liked the Pearl back in the day, so any comments on how well the Pearl has held up or changes in the non-Haven suites.

We were on the Pearl in the fall. It was fine. It’s a smaller, older ship. You can’t compare it to the Prima. Just got off the Prima last week. It’s like brand new. I know some people love it or hate it, it’s a lot of smaller venues, but we really liked it. We had an SJ suite and we loved the cabin, much more than the suite we had on the Pearl. We ate in the pay restaurants, the dining room as well as the Local and Indulge. We never found any of them to be overcrowded. Suites on both ships had suite amenities such as breakfast and lunch in Cagneys and a butler and concierge, just not access to the Haven itself.

Perfect, thank you for such a prompt response.

Is soft drink and water available in the lounge through the day with the tea and coffee?

    Thank you

Unlike the Oasis class, the suite lounge and Coastal Kitchen are not in the same space. They are actually on two separate floors, not even near each other. Also on Oasis there is an actual bar in the suite lounge. On Anthem there is no bar in the lounge. They get the drinks from somewhere behind closed doors. The only time drinks other than the coffee machine are available is during happy hour.

The same with us...but you were recognized then...like we were.  Still have the photo from the Ceremony on my "cruise corner" cabinet along with the engraved stratum (now 2 and about to be 3).  😉

I thought it was funny. We got to hold the stratum and the champagne for the photo and then they took them both back 😂

Didn't they do an award ceremony for you at the Upper Tier event?

Yes, but we don’t actually have Pinnacle status til our next sailing. Someone had mentioned it was different for Pinnacles, but it’s the same. You don’t actually have that status til your next cruise.

Oceansaway17, we too are on the Odyssey next April 2025. Would you have any advice for reasonable parking for the 2 weeks? Driving the 4 hrs from MA.

Also from MA. I have booked thru Trinity Reservations many times in the past. We usually drive down the day before. They include hotel in Newark area, 14 days of free parking and transfer to the ship if you want it. No problems ever.
Also, they have always been cheaper than booking thru the hotel directly.

Technically, you don't change status on the cruise because points are not awarded until after the cruise is completed. The exception to this I believe, is when you reach Pinnacle.

We just reached Pinnacle on our current sailing (day 2 of 12) but we are not recognized as Pinnacle until our next sailing. We have not been included in any Pinnacle activities.

  12. I had a balcony guarantee booked on an upcoming sailing and put in a small bid for the large balcony cabin. My original guarantee was never assigned. I just won the bid about a month out and was assigned a cabin in the category I bid on. There’s a ton of suites open, but I cannot bid again. I guess once you win a bid you cannot bid a second time.

Grand suites and above on Wonder are all on the top two floors of the ship. The only reason we went down was if we felt like walking around, specialty dining or to see the shows.  Otherwise we stayed in the suite area.  Does this sound the  same as NCL?

I have not been on the Wonder so I’m not sure what the suite set up is like. Is there a pool and hot tub up there as well? If everything is enclosed in one area, then yes it would be like the Haven.

What do you need to do to get the status match?

We matched to their highest tier. It gives you a few perks, like a specialty restaurant dinner, 5% discount and maybe an OBC. Not sure of all the perks.

Will do.  So far I'm just trying to figure what is different.  For example, their included internet is 300 minutes per person.  That's pretty lame considering what they charge for these rooms.

To me when you are paying that kind of money for a suite you should have unlimited internet and free bottled water. That’s why I prefer MSC Yacht Club over NCL Haven. The lack of bottled water on NCLs drink package baffles me.

I have an FCC resulting from price crop after final payment for our upcoming cruise on the Spirit and am still receiving Upgrade notice offers.

I am still receiving offers and can place bids, but if I try to modify any of the bids it says “no eligible cruise found”.  I don’t really care because I’m happy with the cabin I have and don’t really want to spend any more money. I just thought it was weird.
