Question about the ultimate unlimited alcohol drink package. How exactly is it enforced? Am I allowed to buy multiple drinks at one time? Anybody have experience with the package

Never even thought about that! They never do call it "Water" slide, do they

I have already put in my two cents on the pricing before, but I'll share my story again...
I was all set to book a ov balcony on the harmony, the only reason I didn't pull the trigger was because I wanted to get in CC and ask about people's experience in selecting a guaranteed vs non guaranteed. Now it was my fault for not selecting the hold reservation option, and I will never make that mistake again, but the price jumped 2000, in less than 90 minutes. Needless to say, I was furious, and when I called to speak with a rep, one said they saw the rate I had, but couldn't do anything about it, when I spoke to their supervisor, they claimed not to be able to ever see the original rate I had intended to book (implying I was lying or not being entirely forthcoming?) then went on to tell me that there were only 3 OV balconies left and that I should jump on it before they sold out. Of course I knew that was absolute BS. Why is it that the number 3 always seems to be the go in the travel industry regarding availability? 3 seats left at this price, 3 rooms available at this price, etc... anyways, that's how these big companies work, always have always will

Will I encounter any issues bringing a ziplock bag of protein powder onboard the ship. If it's gonna cause a hassle, I won't bother. Anybody done this?

yes! ginger has been a remedy for nausea since ancient times i believe. i ask about ginger ale because my girlfriend likes to drink rum with ginger ale (must be a cuban thing? lol) i've tried it, not bad, but i'm more partial to rum and coke if I am going to have a rum drink... but i digress, will the nausea fighting component be effective if drinking it with rum hahahaha
-
thank you!

Anyone know if Royal Caribbean carries ginger ale soda on their ships? Specifically Oasis class...
Thanks

The balcony cabins on Harmony are not the same as on Oasis and Allure. They are actually longer and are the same as the cabins on the Quantum class ships. I have no ispdea if the beds alternate on the Quantum class ships.
hmmm, well i will be a happy camper either way with my ocean view!

thank you! just worked it out, our bed is supposed to be by the balcony! can't wait.

I think that's right, and then Ken takes over when Harmony heads to Ft. lauderdale if I remember correctly.
When the Harmony arrives here in Barcelona, I heard it's Bobby Brown that takes over.

You understand that's literally the definition of a troll?
yes, i am aware. i believe i even went so far as to mention that i was in a trolling mood in my second post.

whatever you do, if you got a good deal, jump on it. i was on the boards a little over a week ago asking about a guarantee because the price was better, then in the span of 90 minutes, the price had jumped 1000 dollars and the guarantee staterooms were gone.

You almost hooked me earlier in the thread. LOL. You joke about Royal being the best because they are the only cruise line you've been on but you would be surprised at the number of people that really think that. Thats why I said head in the sand :D
haha i almost reeled you in! i'm generally a lurker on the boards until i have booked a trip, then i'll become more active. i know all too well about how defensive people get about "their" cruise line lol. i do find it quite amusing, i must admit.
-
Lol I have now! :D
lol just bored, seeing who will ignore my comments and who will get riled up lol
-
Ok then.
please tell me you caught on that i was joking lol

I certainly don't want a bunch of unaccompanied 18 year olds on a a cruise ship!
understandable, but I've seen plenty of unaccompanied 30 years acting a fool as well. Now I understand that chances of misbehavior is more closely associated with a younger crowd, but still, something irks me about that. I think about all the unaccompanied 18 year olds that are deemed mature enough to go fight in wars, but can't go on a cruise. I know that might be a played out line, but, 18 is an adult in all legal regards in most parts of the world, and with the exception of car rentals (the normal rate at least) and alcohol consumption, it is in the US as well.

listen Craig, I've only sailed on Royal, so I can tell you, unequivocally, that Royal is better.
...so easy to ruffle feathers on here... but in all seriousness, you sound like me, trying to gauge based on comparisons, but while you may like Carnival better still after your Royal cruise, you still can't go wrong with RC, you'll enjoy it, that I am quite sure of.
-
you can. on Disney and Cunard.
well then it's ridiculous that royal caribbean doesn't let 18 year olds travel alone.
-
Another Royal Caribbean cheerleader that clearly has their head in the sand
haha!!! suppose i'm in a trolling mood this afternoon. guess i'm getting caught up in the "spirited" presidential races going on right now lol
-
really is ridiculous that at 18 you cannot travel alone.
-
this pretty much sums it up: If you want to be treated like a King (or Queen) choose Royal, if you want to be treated like a CLOWN, go with Carnival.
