Anyone order a gift card recently? How long did it take to ship? Last time I ordered it shipped a day or two later. I placed an order Sunday and it still hasn't shipped.

I was on the Triumph July 2017. We had an absolute blast! I cruise RCL and Carnival. It was on par with all the other ships I have sailed.
-
I bought four at one time. Two $500 ones and two $100 ones all at the same time with no problem.
When was this? I haven't seen the $500 cards in awhile.

If you book your cruise online can you use multiple gift cards for the initial deposit?

nevermind please delete I contacted the agency

Usually 5,000 points or more will get you a free interior room. They will send a postcard to your cabin (same as what you got), but instead of a discount it will be for a free interior cabin for 2. These offers must be booked within 2 weeks and are valid for sailings up to 6 months in the future. The offer will note any exclusions, but usually the terms indicate it's valid for sailings up to 15 days, and Vista/Alaska are sometimes excluded. However, in my recent experience, the only sailings actually available when trying to book were 3-5 day sailings and only within the next 1-3 months (vs. the 6 months advertised).
Like suz1450 mentioned, if you skip your offer, they will usually still try to get you to come back, occasionally with an even better offer.
On my very fist Carnival cruise, which was free from a land-based casino, I earned around 3,500 points and received no offer. Within a few months, I had a "Pack and Play" offer in my online account, which included a free interior cabin for nearly every sailing for any length.
Keep an eye on your online account. You'll definitely see some offers pop up occasionally.
When you say online account, is that just my carnival account or is there a different account I need to create for the players club?

I went on a Carnival Cruise and racked up almost 4,000 points on a 5 night cruise. I realize many people rack up more than this but what type of offers can I expect with that type of play? Before the cruise ended, they sent something to my stateroom about a discount but that discount didn't really look like much of a discount.

Do they have a build a bear on the Triumph? If so, how much is it? Also, can you use build a bear gift cards to pay for it?

Post office in Cozumel will do it. It was a $12 taxi ride roundtrip.

Braver than I am. I was at Great Stirrup Cay, which is right next to Coco Cay. Saw a baby barracuda and that was about it. Any pictures?
I had left my phone on the ship so I didn't get any pictures. 2 or 3 people were filming and said they would upload the videos to youtube. I hope I can find one of those.

I was at Coco Cay on July 8th and we saw 5 sharks and 2 stingrays. When we walked in we made a right and walked 10 minutes to an area that was less crowded. The sharks and stingrays left everyone alone despite people swimming towards them. They all seemed use to being around humans and left everyone alone. It was a really weird experience because you would think your initial reaction would be to jump out of the water but no one did. I only wish I had my GoPro to film it. It was a really great experience.

Just got back. We pretty much did everything, but only for a short amount of time. We walked from the cruise port to the straw market (less than 5 minutes) and then continued walking to Junkanoo Beach. I was not overly impressed with Junkanoo. It seemed really small and crowded. We then took a cab to cabbage beach (really nice but larger waves). We kept out heads down and told a couple people no when we first arrived and we were left alone. We walked what felt like 1-2 miles (probably not that far) down to the Atlantis. We actually just walked past security and could see some lakes/sharks. The path we took eventually led to the casino (which was a dead end for us). Cab to Cabbage beach was $4 per person if you did a shared ride or about $20 for a private ride.

Several people are saying February. Watch out for cruises over Presidents Day or Mardi Gras. Those could be packed with kids.

Looking for suggestions on a hotel that has a free airport shuttle from FLL. I would prefer something towards the south of the airport as my cruise is out of Miami and my flight is arriving after 11pm, so I need a hotel with a shuttle that runs that late. Suggestions please.

For an Alaskan cruise, I would have done it.

Here are a few things we enjoy:
If you've never sailed from New Orleans you MUST be outside during sailaway so you can watch how they turn the ship around and see how the river is above the little towns down river. On the way back, you should be on deck when we get close to the mouth of the river so you can see how close we come to the oil rigs. If you've never seen how the Gulf waters mix with the muddy Mississippi River water that's pretty cool to see also. It's also a sight to see the sun rising on the river and city of New Orleans the day we return. It sucks to see it because vacation is over, but oh what a sight it is!!
About how long does it take from the time you leave to the time you get to the mouth of the river?

I am considering the FTTF for a cruise out of New Orleans. If I purchase this, what time do I get to board the ship? I currently have a 11:00 AM boarding time and it says noon for the FTTF? Can that be accurate? I am considering buying it since I have kids and would rather not wait.

Both are in stock right now.

Great news for everyone.

To sail if they can, it is what they do, but I would think you (or whomever) is sailing on the ship would take solace that the Coast Guard is the final arbiter in decisions like this. I wonder if our local expert will jump in with sage comments on the standards in areas like this.

I hear you and I understand. I was asked to go on this cruise but decided not to because I wasn't comfortable going on one of their older cruise ships in case of something like this.
It is hard for someone that has been saving to go on a cruise, took vacation, packed there bags, have 2 kids (1 with autism) and driving 14 hours to get to a boat that I would say is 50/50 at leaving port. I think it concerned her that they are no longer taking reservations for cruises for the next several weeks. Hopefully it is something they can fix while they are at sea and everything will be good.
-
Are you suggesting they are going to stiff the cruisers and blame it on the Coast Guard?

Just telling you what they said when called.I have no idea what there intentions are.

My sister is sailing on this on Monday. She has is leaving today to drive there. She called Carnival as her son has autism and change is difficult. What she found out is they no longer have for sale any dates until May 11th on the Fantasy, they won't refund her money right now, they would not provide any discount/OBC and are not willing to switch her to any other boat. They said it will be up to the coast guard if they sail on Monday.
-
Carnival quit selling cruises on this boat through May 11th. They also won't refund or offer a switch to another boat for sailings leaving on Monday. They are claiming it is up to the coast guard, not them.
-
So is it working fine now or did they do a cruise to no where? I have family members getting on the boat on Monday.
APRIL 6 REFUND THREAD: Have you received your refund?
in Carnival Cruise Lines
Posted
Glad to find this. Cancelled my cruise in the middle of March online. A week later I received a phone call from a sales rep that works for carnival (not a third party). She looked up my cancellation and saw that I had cancelled but said it was in "limbo" because the computer system didn't know if I wanted future credit or a refund. She fixed that and sent it over to accounting to refund. She said it would take up to 3 weeks (not months). It has been 3 weeks and nothing.
I personally do not think they have the money to issue any refunds. I don't know a single person that has received a refund. They did a stock offering the other day (which dilutes the value of shares) for $8 a share to raise money. This tells me they are broke and days or weeks from bankruptcy. I doubt I ever get a refund. I would like a reporter to do a story on this. The government is not going to bail out the cruise lines because they pay 90% of their taxes to other countries, so we might all end up out of luck.
I'm getting ready to ask John Heald if Carnival has the money to refund. Any other company issues refunds in a day or two. It only takes Carnival 10 seconds to take my money so it shouldn't take 90 days to get it back.
To add on to this, I received a nice offer via e-mail and called to try to potentially take advantage of the offer. They were trying to charge me $400 up front and then they could apply my cruise credit. It felt like a total scam. Just like all of those people they offered cheap upgrades to in late March knowing that those cruises weren't going.
