  1. Thanks for the encouraging reply:) The link to the remote, is referenced in post #159, courtesy of culvercitycruiser.
  2. We will be on the Discovery October 14th and December 4th. Has there been any updated reports regarding HDMI access since May? The last we heard, the Amazon remote was a workable solution, but that was some time ago. Hoping someone has a more recent success story:)
  3. Could not agree more. Discovery Internet is almost useless. We've been on the Discovery five times and it has not improved. Undoubtedly due to over four thousand (4,000) devices on 24/7. However, for us, it is the only game in town! Just paid $600 ($300 net) for Dec 4th 15 day Hawaiian cruise Internet. Hope you are correct about, possibly, getting some relief with Starlink. Often times SpeedTest.org comes in at 150Kbs, or less. I could get better performance from a carrier pigeon. Happy cruising..... PS Will check again on October 14th, Mexican cruise.
  4. Thanks for confirming Discovery capability:)
  5. Understood. Thanks for the prompt reply.
  6. Could you please elaborate? Are you hinting you were unsuccessful with any type of remote?
  7. The button/switch is there, it simply lacks the multiple functionality that is described in other's prior posts. I'm still hoping for some guidance on which remote to pursue.
  8. Unless I'm missing something, the switch on the Discovery sets have only on or off function. The two sets in our minisuite did not function like a tophat switch on a joy stick. If the set is on, pressing switch turns it off. If off, turns it on. Seemingly, no other function(s). I'm hoping seagunthera will disclose the manufacturer and model number of the remote control they used on the Discovery, to successfully change the input options. Was it LG or a third party? What "handshake" code(s) were entered to allow it to communicate with the Discovery set? We will be back on the Discovery in October, for Mexico, and in December, for Hawaii. Thanks for listening.
  9. Oops, my previous submission did not include the above as a quote. Mea culpa.
  10. I posted about the workaround four months back and have sailed on her since. I was surprised to learn that the old way of doing things no longer worked (they changed the ability to switch inputs as many have mentioned), but lo and behold...just in case, I brought my own remote and voila! We WIN again! Thanks for the, hopefully, encouraging comment. May I inquire as to the make/model and source of the remote, you were able to select input/source?
  11. The last post being 103 days old does not bode well for our cause. We were on the Discovery, March 11th for 7 day Coastal Cruise. Able to access HDMI connection, but unable to change input/source. The bottom, center, button appears to be off/on ONLY! No success in retrieving model number of either TV in mini-suite. Has anyone had any luck in using a third-party, or genuine LG, remote to select input/source? If so, what make/model remote was utilized, and where can it be purchased? I fear we are locked out, but we had a good run. Thanks in advance for any thoughts or contributions.
