  1. Got ours done on a Princess cruise a few months ago by ship photographers. We had excess OBC to burn off so it was "free". Just print out the photo specs from state department website so they get it right. They will do it on a "dress up" night when they do portraits and have a white background screen to use. Should be same on HAL. By the way got our passports back in only 8 weeks.

  2. Last cruise, Dec 22 on the Diamond, Journey view would not work. Went to internet cafe and the attendant could not help. Said latest software upgrade on Medallion behaves poorly with Android 9 and lower. Can anyone confirm same problem? Don't want to buy new phone just for next cruise.

  3. Same here - have tried with Chrome and Edge and on a desktop and a laptop and using spouse's credentials - all to no avail. Having same problem - blank page when trying to access the shore excursions or get stuck in a loop. Frustrating!

  4. You may not like it. We were assigned a Neptune handicap on Kongingsdam but had no need for handicap cabin. It was a guarantee SC. Cabin has no couch, small desk and poor bathroom for non-handicap person. Only one sink, minimal counter space for toiletries, roll-in show with SLICK tile floor, tub has no shower curtain or overhead shower head - sit down only. Only small desk almost unusable for laptop. On the plus side, giant balcony.  Fortunately, we we able to change cabins due to a no-show.

  5. I think some Native American tribe reservations have some kind of "sovereign nation" status. Could a port such as Icy Straight Point Alaska Tlingit village qualify as a foreign port for Jones Act purposes? A long shot of course. What if a cruise line took that position and started  the Alaska season with a stop there? The Feds of course would file a lawsuit but by the time it got to court the 2021 season would be over and would be moot for 2022 as Canada should be open.

  6. We disembarked May 17 and purchased the HAL transfer. HAL took the luggage directly to airport via truck so we did not have to deal with it in the terminal. HOWEVER, the luggage is retrieved from a tent set up across the road from the airport. Although luggage carts were provided, it was pouring rain and we had to schlep our stuff across the road and wait for a green walk light to cross the road. By the time we got inside terminal we were soaked.
