I have found the HVAC to be louder than on other lines. Consider it white noise, it drowns out sounds coming to room.

Got ours done on a Princess cruise a few months ago by ship photographers. We had excess OBC to burn off so it was "free". Just print out the photo specs from state department website so they get it right. They will do it on a "dress up" night when they do portraits and have a white background screen to use. Should be same on HAL. By the way got our passports back in only 8 weeks.

Last cruise, Dec 22 on the Diamond, Journey view would not work. Went to internet cafe and the attendant could not help. Said latest software upgrade on Medallion behaves poorly with Android 9 and lower. Can anyone confirm same problem? Don't want to buy new phone just for next cruise.

Still out for me. 4:45pm pacific.

Same here - have tried with Chrome and Edge and on a desktop and a laptop and using spouse's credentials - all to no avail. Having same problem - blank page when trying to access the shore excursions or get stuck in a loop. Frustrating!

Was on K-dam for Nov 5 coastal. Same thing on last night of cruise.

You may not like it. We were assigned a Neptune handicap on Kongingsdam but had no need for handicap cabin. It was a guarantee SC. Cabin has no couch, small desk and poor bathroom for non-handicap person. Only one sink, minimal counter space for toiletries, roll-in show with SLICK tile floor, tub has no shower curtain or overhead shower head - sit down only. Only small desk almost unusable for laptop. On the plus side, giant balcony. Fortunately, we we able to change cabins due to a no-show.

Beware of water already in reservoir. Who knows how long it was there and had previous occupant dumped his bottle in that was partially drank from.

On the Hawaii cruise now. They tested us all again today onboard. Marched thru deck 3 dining room and tested. Very quick.

Have another theory on this. It is to spread the pressure on housekeeping around to have rooms ready for arriving guests. Say group A is all on deck 6 aft, extra pressure is on housekeeping to be ready first. Next cruise they get a break and are assigned the last arrivals. Just a theory...

Was breakfast item in MDR on Kdam earlier this month. Served in small pan it is baked in, very good.

Am not seeing daily MDR menus in navigator. Just one generic menu. Where did you find dailies? This is for Kdam November coastal.

We were told the safety briefing had to be completed before your drink vouchers are "unlocked".

If you used cell phone does it need both front and back cameras?

What's so special about 3 days for the rapid test? It is supposed to prove you have antibodies in your system. There will be no measurable difference between 3 days and several weeks. The PCR test shows if you have an active infection and of course time is of the essence. Why make us scramble around for the rapid test at the last minute?

I think some Native American tribe reservations have some kind of "sovereign nation" status. Could a port such as Icy Straight Point Alaska Tlingit village qualify as a foreign port for Jones Act purposes? A long shot of course. What if a cruise line took that position and started the Alaska season with a stop there? The Feds of course would file a lawsuit but by the time it got to court the 2021 season would be over and would be moot for 2022 as Canada should be open.

Luggage drop off is usually first, BEFORE any health screenings. What happens if denied boarding but luggage is sent onboard?

I am looking at the table of cost for travel protection. Should I use the base rate of cruise or include port charges, tax and beverage service charges? I am also looking at third party cancellation policies and have same question.

We disembarked May 17 and purchased the HAL transfer. HAL took the luggage directly to airport via truck so we did not have to deal with it in the terminal. HOWEVER, the luggage is retrieved from a tent set up across the road from the airport. Although luggage carts were provided, it was pouring rain and we had to schlep our stuff across the road and wait for a green walk light to cross the road. By the time we got inside terminal we were soaked.

Reviewing HAL shore excursions for European cruise next year. Some say to bring Euro coins for pay toilets, particularly France. Anyone know if the bus guides usually have an ample supply to purchase?

Does anyone know if 4-5 star or suites can use the express security line that is usually for wheelchairs and disabled? Many times seems underutilized while regular line is mile long. Some airports allow this.

Will be staying at a Seatac hotel prior. Will go back to airport next morning to get HAL SHUTTLE. Does anyone know if luggage goes with us on bus or sent separately and will arrive directly to cabin? Have had it go either way on several other lines.
