Just to make sure you know, not all Caribbean countries except the cards. For example Martinique and Guadeloupe do not. Also, if anything happens and you have to fly home during the trip, passport cards will not allow you to.

Can we blame the Facebook outage for this?

Interested to know how you decided to handle it and then how did NCL handle it?
I should have come back and closed the loop. Just showed up without my wife. Checked in with no issues. About two weeks later was refunded port charges and prepaid grats.

How far out is the sail date?
Three Days

Should you call in and let NCL know or, just show up to the pier with only one guest. We only have essential insurance so that is out the window for a claim. Mother in Law needs surgery so my wife is staying back. Trying to limit the loss.

See you on board.

Which ship? When?
Sorry, it is the Silhouette, and I am using it currently.

Just a note, we were able to use our Fire TV stick in the TV on the cruise ship. Once it was a plugged in and powered in HDMI 3 the channel guide showed Channel 0 as the HDMI port and was able change to it. To move back to the Celebrity instance just use the remote to change the channel up or down.
Game changer. Also the USB port on the powered the Fire stick to leave an outlet open.

With 20% off currently on line for premium, what I am seeing is this is per day on a 10 day cruise. Looks like the biggest discounts are for Device 3 and 4.
1 Device 27.99
2 Device 50.99
3 Device 63.99
4 Device 85.99

Have not cruised on Celebrity in a decade. Looking online and I see the prices for the specialty restaurants are around $50 to $60. I also found these, and the way it reads seems to good to be true.
Specialty Restaurant Certificate
From
$45.00ReserveOverview
Treat your family, friends, or yourself to an elegant, gourmet dinner at any one of our specialty restaurants with a gift certificate of $45. Gift certificates may be redeemed at any of our specialty restaurants. *An 18% gratuity will automatically be added to any specialty restaurant cover charge.
Do these certificates act a full cover charge, or do they only act as part of the cover charge and it has to added to at the time of service?
Thank you

The Dream does not have a Havana area. The Vista, Horizon and Panorama have the nice aft Havana area with the pool and two hot tubs. Mardi Gras and Celebration have the smaller Havana area with just the hot tub.

ET if only for the bike scene going across the moon with the stars as a backdrop.

As someone who enjoys the Havana area I will really miss the food service in Ocean Plaza. That was such an easy place to grab a bite without having to brave the lido during peak breakfast and lunch hours.

once May 2023 come all passengers will need a passport or Real/Enhance ID
Just to make sure everyone knows there is a difference between a Real ID and Enhanced ID. Gold Star equals Real ID and allows you to board domestic flights, enter some federal buildings and Military Bases. If you do not have a passport (or passport card) you will still need a birth certificate to cruise with a Real ID (Gold Star). Every state offers a real ID. These do not prove citizenship.
The Enhanced Driver's Licence Has a hologram American Flag on it and is only offered by Five States (New York, Vermont, Washington State, Michigan, and Minnesota) for an additional. These are designed to speed land and sea border crossings and prove identity and citizenship. They are a combination of a Real ID Driver's Licence and a United States Passport CARD (not book). They only allow travel on domestic flights and across land a sea borders. They will not work for international flights.
If you are on a Closed Loop Cruise (Departing and Returning to the same US Port) a real ID and Birth Certificate are all you need an enhanced driver's license (From one of the five listed States) or US Passport Card are also sufficient. If an emergency should happen and you are traveling with only the above ID's additional steps will be needed to leave a cruise early for an emergency. The cruise line will most likely assist. As always, barring any unseen needs for Visa's, an US Passport Book is also allowed and acts as a fail safe against any possible travel issues.
The one exception to cruising on a closed loop cruise without a passport from the United States that I am aware of is if the cruise visits some French Caribbean islands (Such as Guadeloupe or Martinique). These require a US passport because of how flight to and from France are handled as domestic and do not clear customs upon arrival to France.

Just out of curiosity, which Caribbean cruise ports requires a passport for you to get off the ship?
Some French Ports, Martinique and Guadeloupe are two that do. The reason for this is they have flights to France that act as domestic flights, so there is no passport control at the airport for those flights. Because of that they require passport for cruise passengers even if it is a closed loop cruise.

If memory serves me correctly on the Horizon and Panorama have the smart(ish) elevators. Both the Vista and Mardi Gr. have the traditional free for all.
-
Yes it does. Love the elevators. Just be sure to enter everyone on the keypad so that the load balancer can do its magic.

From a programming side, it is done backwards, it should be number of passengers and then floor. This would keep parties from being split up and causing all the issues. Flow in my mind should be... Accessible (if needed, not a required input), party size, then deck. Solves so many issues.

Love following your cruise, we are joining the Enchanted on November 30th. I know the crew is not allowed off in port yet. I'd there anything we can bring to help then out (other then cash which we will have as well)?
I'm thinking toiletries, snacks, etc?

Reading the terms and conditions of the Premier Coffee and Soda package and noticed this gem.
- Excludes beverages offered via vending machines, but includes Coke Freestyle machines where available (coming soon).
Anyone know if the Enchanted Princess will have the Freestyle machines would love to have some Coke Zero available outside of the can, (a 43 year old kid can dream).
The same bullet point was listed on the classic soda package but not on the Premier Beverage package (in fact it states that it is not for use on any self serve machines, but I am assuming that is in regards to the self serve wine machines.

The PSVA should allow this path because the Panama canal cruise will already have satisfied the distant foreign port requirement allowing the cruiser to embark from one American Port to another American Port.

Last Saturday we had group 24, which was in the last three groups and were off by 10:30am. Great Cruise.
-
Sunday and Thursday, first and second days at sea, currently.
-
On board Panorama now, cabin 5218, Havana inside. No noise issues. Currently the Havana has operating hours of 8am to midnight. The Havana bar inside area is open to all passengers, the outside area of Havana Bar is only for Havana guests.
Love the area.

Passport cards for Princess cruises

Other way around, they are only good for land and sea travel and are not good for air travel at all.
