My go-to guy for info is now an official go-to guy for info!
Yay! Enjoy!

We always eat all meals in the Windjammer and I did notice more people in the Windjammer at all meals on my Explorer sailing last month than what we usually see. Never had a problem finding a table though.

When they added all those cabins during the 2015 refurb the inside venues weren't expanded to accommodate the increase in guests. I found most venues quite crowded. I'm sailing Explorer again next month and am now aware of that issue and can plan accordingly.

Fire & Ice Pedicure = extremely expensive
Elemis Exotic Sole Delight Foot Treatment with Pedicure = insanely expensive
That made me laugh, thank you! (Zavi says "hi" btw)

They eventually admitted it shouldn't have happened, but it did all the same.
My gosh, that's horrible! When they "admitted" it did they give you back your money?

I oppose nuclear proliferation so this doesn't happen to me.
I'd be very upset if I were hit by an 'icy BM.'
That's great! THANK YOU!

What's amazing to me is that Disney apparently sold one of its newer ships to North Pacific Cruise Lines and no one noticed!

One other thing to keep in mind Snow!!!. As a proud Brooklyn born native (still waiting for the Dodgers to return to where the universe meant them to be) I have to admit that snow removal is not our finest activity. In the midwest 4 inches of snow is a pain in the neck. In NY, 4 inches turns the roads into a parking lot.
I was born in Brooklyn but grew up in L.A.
I BLEED DODGER BLUE!!!

Thanks for your reply!
I am gonna have my tablet and cell phone and my meds. I don't think I will have a lot because like I said it will be hard with my chair. I have 400 plus days to figure it out.
I just think it's not right to have someone who does not have a lot of moving power to be dragging things for 3 hours (example)
Right, and you don't have to. Don't take a large carry on or board later. You have choices.

Thank you. I guess I will use a backpack for the first night and things I need.
If they don't allow me in the dining room with out pants on I will just tell them sorry but due to your rules, I was unable to change. I won't want pants to be crush in a backpack.
I understand your concern about your carry-on. I use a scooter and the basket is the size of a pickle so no carry-ons for me except a shoulder tote. A backpack for you is a good idea.
All you really need to carry in it though are your electronics (phone, camera, laptop if you have one), swim trunks, and your medications on the offchance that your bags don't get to your cabin before you need them. Otherwise they should be there by 4:30 or 5:00, usually not later than 6:30.
The other option, of course, is that you board closer to 1:00 so you can go directly to your room.

The cc posting police are out in full force. Im travelling on Carnival next and not Princess... should I have even read the story? 😂 Thanks for the info. The people complaing are those people in society who clearly have nothing better to do than look for something to complain about. Move along complainers.

or, maybe, the people who have been CC members for three years and have nearly reached 20,000 posts. Just sayin'...

Thank you for posting this, Nelblu. I had heard about it but this is a pretty complete explanation.

Here is a photo I took through my telescope of the Venus transit in front of the sun in 2012.
The moon will block out a little more of the sun :)
This is breathtaking, thank you!

Yes, that's what it's SUPPOSED to be and the way it's sold ("15 coffees"). But there have been many people who have said that on THEIR ship they were being charged per shot, not per coffee. Someone posted a photo of the sign her ship put up stipulating one punch per shot, which is definitely not what it says in the cruise planner.
I took the card out of my cart and will wait 'til I get on board to see how they do it on Explorer. With tax it comes to just over $36, which for 15 coffees is a deal (or, as it says in the cruise planner, "save up to 50%"), but getting 7 for $36 is more than the cost of the drinks individually.
Do a search, there are several threads about this issue.

We're going to head out at the crack o' dawn to drive about 35 - 40 minutes south towards Lincoln City, Oregon, which is in the path of totality. We get it at around 10:15 a.m. but there will be MASSIVE traffic and Highway 101 comprises two meandering lanes most of the way.
We might make a left turn and go partly up the Coast Range. According to historic weather data for August 21, there is a 60% chance of fog or overcast sky on the coast at that time. (It usually blows off between 10:30 and noon, wouldn't it be a shame if that happened on this date?)

This was just AWESOME, thank you!

Nice dramatic segue. Diversion means you're en route and get diverted because someone drowned, medical, etc. Your scenario represents an Itinerary Change, which if you read your contract carefully is perfectly acceptable. Settle down now... Settle down...
While you might be technically correct, I like Randy's version much better than yours. It's joyful and fun. Yours isn't.
Lordy, I hope there are tapes. :D

^^^ That's sweet!

One of the reasons I never book connecting rooms is because they don't have sofas. The door is where the sofa would go; they just have a chair. (The Promenade cabins do though, because the setup is completely different, I just looked.) You might just have pullmans in that room, have you checked? You could get a trundle for the younger one...

I am not allowed to bring anything perishable on the ship. We can bring our own snacks and food for him but with the stipulation that it is not perishable.
Really?? Last year my daughter and I brought a pint of half and half because we like it in our coffee and RCI uses some sort of "coffee whitener" that has a binder to which I'm allergic. No one stopped us or questioned us about it, although if we had tried it with a half gallon they might have.
I'm going to bring a pint this year too, I hope they don't take it!

Lower level and mid-ship. It's engineering! That's where you'll get the least motion.
Good for you for trying again. You might live to regret it when you find yourself hooked...

Ugh. After nearly an hour on the phone with customer service, they will not honour the myvegas rewards as our cruise was booked in CDN. I still can't understand the reasoning behind this, as the cruise ship is in USD, but this is the stance they are taking. I spoke with a supervisor, and asked if they could provide some sort of OBC as a gesture to make up for this, they refused. Not a happy camper here.
I saw the "one only" rule in the T&C but nothing about having to be booked in USD. How odd, and how disappointing!

Yes! And the taxes will be refunded.

What ship?
Explorer
But maybe I'm wrong? It works that way on Carnival; I don't remember feeding cash (oh, so much cash!) into the machines on Explorer...
-
On Royal, the casino only takes cash to get chips for live games or to play machines. You can also use cash out tickets in some machines. You can use your SeaPass card in some machines to accumulate player's points, but not to play the game.
We used our SeaPass card the whole time to draw money from our shipboard account while playing the slots. It was convenient... a little TOO convenient, which is just the way they like it ;p
At the end of the cruise we paid what was on our bill, including the amount we had played on the slots.
Interline booking deposits
in Royal Caribbean International
Posted
I can see it; the non-refundable deposit lowers the cost and then they'd take the interline discount from that.
It could be just your agency. We can't name agencies here but is it the biggest one that starts with a P? Do they give you extras that are important to you? You might call the cruise line itself, I've gotten interline rates directly in the past, but usually much closer to sail date.
Good luck!
