Carnival's FAQ's state that: "Future cruise credits are issued in the name of the original payee, regardless of whether they were ever booked in the cancelled reservation. For bookings paid with a travel agency credit card or check, the cruise credit will then be issued in the name of the cancelled guest."

OP, how was the deposit paid? To me, that says whoever made the payment is who they'll issue the credit to.

I think the OP is implying that they would like half the FCC. If that's what they're saying, and they paid for half, I agree they deserve half. That's the problem with the way Carnival has it set up. The FCC gets issued to one person when there may have been multiple people who helped pay for it.

The booking was made by her and I am listed as the second passenger and I made the payment with my credit card

  2. I have a booking Jan 2021 under Early Saver in which a $250 deposit was made... My friend is saying she doesn't want to go now due to losing her job from covid-19... I know we have to pay a $50 penalty per person and the remaining $150 will be given a Future Cruise Credit... The booking was initially made in her name... My question is can I get the Future Cruise Credit put in my name even though she's the Primary booker?

  3. If your children are in your cabin they will get some of the Platinum perks... such as; they will be able to board the ship with you from the Platinum/Diamond waiting area, also get priority tendering with you, and also if you go with them to guest services they will be able to use the Platinum line... I know this because I am Platinum and no one else in my cabin ever is but they get the 3 perks I've listed.

And if they are not staying in your cabin they get no perks... only the people that are in your cabin get them.

  4. I am interested too... we'll be there from 11am to 7pm... I've been to St Thomas about 5 times and always went to Coki Beach so looking at trying something different... and like you, I am also looking for a beach that has fun things to as we have five 20 yr olds in our group... thinking maybe Magen's Bay since I keep reading that you have to go there at least once

This right here shows you don't know much about veganism

( ps I am not vegan nor vegetarian however support my 2 sons that are)

hmmm weird... the part of the quote you responded to has my username attached to it but that quote is actually from  "On 10/24/2019 at 12:21 PM, Homosassa said:"... as I only said (I think you make very good points)... guess its the way you carried it forward... no biggie

Of course common sense would suggest that a meat eater would enjoy vegetarian fare in a vegetarian establishment.  However, common sense is in short supply.

As I said, my mind was just thinking about how life does work both ways.  My post was just a random thought and was just a comment to make people think sometimes about what is being asked.

If I go to a vegetarian restaurant, yes, I  eat vegetarian. If I go to a steak house, I don't insist on a tofu steak. It is the same as following the local customs of any location I visit.

But as far as the meat/vegetarian issue goes, how many threads have been posted over the years where the questions has been raised if a vegetarian option is available at a hamburger grill or other on board venue (leaving out the buffet and dining room where there are such options). Look back in this thread, there is a post about the restrictions being on the poster because some venues on board don't have a vegetarian option.  Or the infamous complaint several years ago that even John Heald commented on when a woman who was vegetarian raised a ruckus because the on board steak house actually had a poster outside the door that showed a steak. Gasp!!!!! Vegetarians had to walk by that sign and  see it.

Obviously, from the reaction of some to my post, the idea of reversing the situation and wanting meat in a vegetarian/vegan establishment is rude and not funny. Isn't the idea of expecting a vegetarian /vegan option to be available anywhere one goes also rude and not funny.

I had no intention of being either.  It was just a comment to make people think about the situation.  I failed in my intention.

Here is another rhetorical question to cause knicker twisting in some:  If vegans decide to raise their children vegan and will not include animal products in the child's diet, is the milk of a human female animal also excluded?

I think you make very good points

  7. I don't book a cabin that is around any dead space because on the few times that I did it ended up being where the vacuum and other cleaning supplies are kept and especially where the ice cube maker is kept as the crew goes into this area a lot and in the morning its loud... anyways to each his own... that's just my opinion

  8. I’m looking at booking an ATV Excursion is Amber Cove.

Iguana Mama is $125.00 and through Carnival its $89.99.

The difference in the two that I can see is that Iguana Mama is 5 hours and comes with lunch where Carnival is 4 hours and does not come with lunch.

I’m trying to figure out why I would spend an additional $35.00 to go with Iguana Mama… is it really worth the extra money for an additional hour and lunch?

Also I noticed Carnival says you must be (16+ and hold a valid Driver's License) where Iguana Mama only says (16+)... the reason I mention this is because we will have two 20 year olds in our group and they don't have a valid Driver's License so I wonder if Carnival actually checks and if this will cause us a problem?

I would love to hear what people who have been to Amber Cove and done an ATV Excursion think about my two concerns....

I also noticed that Marysol offers an ATV Excursion for $80.00 for 3 hours and no lunch and only 20 min at the beach… I don’t think my group will be interested in this one since such a short stop at the beach.

I dont think it is so competitive anymore the prices. Just looking at a 7 night cruise in February, Carnival Breeze is $599 and the brand new Princess Sky is 760. That is not a huge difference in pricing.

I actually think that is a lot more money... so 160 US is about 216 CDN... so for this Canadian that would mean an extra $432 CDN for two people... I'm sticking with Carnival lol

  10. There is no difference between closed connecting doors and a wall. The doors are probably a better sound barrier than the wall.

I do not agree... last year on the Carnival Vista it was our very first time being in a cabin that has connecting doors and I will NEVER do that again... we could hear everything from the adjoining room... so a wall is much better than a door

  11. SOOOO frustrated with Carnival right now. I am ready to book a cruise. Credit card in hand. I have been platinum for several years. Surprisingly, I get very few email offers for deals, but a friend of mine, who cruised with me a few years back and had my email address on her booking, is getting them DAILY! Reduced prices, reduced deposits, upgrades, but NOTHING for my platinum status. I've watched CCL go cheap on a lot of things over the years, but you would think that they would want to keep their customers who have been loyal to them coming back. I even called to see if they had anything they can offer; I just got an apology...but no deals. Guess I will be booking an all-inclusive at a resort, instead of taking a cruise.:mad:Anyone else encounter this issue?

Yep same thing here... I am Platinum and my husband is Gold... I never get any kind of promotion or upgrade offer but her gets one every week it seems... makes no sense to me... and yes it bothers me too

  12. I clicked on your TripAdvisor link and - surprise - found myself looking at my own review of Mullet Bay !! It's from 2012 but I still stand behind every word. We go to Mullet every time our cruise ship docks at this port. We will be on the Allure in just a few weeks and I've been trying to find an economical way to get there that doesn't involve driving, because of the road construction !! I finally found a catamaran that specifically states that it parks us in Mullet Bay and I am booking it !

Hopefully, by December when we port here again on the Horizon, the road construction will be mostly done. I have 8 people interested in visiting Mullet with my husband and I. I just wish the Taxi association would post their new rate sheet !!

Can you tell me what company you will be going on the catamaran to Mullet Bay with? As that might be a good way to travel instead of taxi

  13. We've booked thru Pereira Tours for $20 per person for a reserved chair, shared umbrella and round trip transportation to and from Cockleshell (Reggae Beach Bar) and a welcome rum punch. We've used Liz before and comes highly recommended.

I just checked their website and wanted to make sure that people are aware the chair and umbrella is NOT included in the $20 so it will be extra

  14. No offense to smokers out there but the last thing I want to do is go to the beach with the kids as a non smoker and sit in a plume of smoke for 6 hours. I am reading reviews that say that Sanchos allows smoking in a lot of places. How prevalent are the smokers there? Can you move tables if necessary? Any family oriented beaches where smoking is entirely prohibited? Thanks.

No offense to non-smokers but this is why I love Mexico... because the last thing that I want to do is go to the beach and sit beside ranting non-smokers... Mr. Sanchos allows smoking anywhere on the property so please definitely consider going elsewhere! Thanks!

  15. I saw a few reviews of people saying they went with this company and were able to combine excursions... we want to do the Stringray Swim and also the Hell/Turtle Farm... we will be on the Carnival Vista arriving in Grand Cayman on Wed Jan 24th from 8am to 4pm (last tender back to ship is probably 3pm)... the person that I was making the reservation with said we can only do one as we won't have enough time to combine the two excursions; is this true?... my friend has never been to Grand Cayman and most likely never will be again so was really hoping to be able to take her to swim with the stingray's and also visit the turtle farm as she loves turtles... if Captain Marvin's can not help me do both is there another company that can... suggestions needed please

  16. But he does know the answer. He said he has had FTTF so he knows the guidelines. I believe he is just looking for validation to do something that he knows is not right.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I thought the exact same thing... the OP must know as they had FTTF before.
