  1. Two of my favorite meals on the ship were the Porterhouse at Cagney's and the Osso Buco at La Cucina. My wife was especially impressed with Cagneys as well, and loved the Crab Cake at Cagneys almost as much as her filet.

Teppanyaki was fun, and the food quite good, and the scallops perfectly cooked, but it was just the least impressive of the 3 specialty meals I had. I got the seafood combo there, for reference, and also tried some of my wife's chicken from her chicken/shrimp combo.

Thank you! I've made a note of those dishes to try. :)

  2. You need to put your kids in the kid's club and go and enjoy your specialty meals without them. It's not like you're abandoning them... and depending on their ages, they will have way more fun in the club than in some restaurant. Just a thought... take them to the buffet as kids love the buffet and then after they go to the kid's club, you can enjoy a nice meal for two. I loved Moderno and La Cucina. I didn't go to Le Bistro because of all the seafood dishes, but heard from many that it was their favourite restaurant. Teppanyaki was just okay for us. Cagney's was great too. Hope you have fun! Enjoy the Haven and all the perks that come with it.

Trust me, I would love to drop them off at kid's club if I could but it starts at 3 years old. I can only drop the 3 year old at Splash Academy (which I did on our May cruise and it was awesome, he loved it) so I'll definitely be doing that again. I can't wait until my youngest is 3 years old, he just turned 2 this month!

If you have any favorite dishes from those restaurants (except for Moderno), feel free to share! I was looking forward to any recommended dishes to try.

  3. Going on a 14 day in jan and we have SDP which I believe is 6 meals in either Cagneys, Le Bistro, La Cucina, Modernk, and Teppanyaki. One main and unlimited apps/dessert right?

I was wondering if anyone had a favorite dish to try or must have? We will be in haven and have two little ones under 4 so we will probably have dinner in suite most of the time or at buffet. Except for teppanyaki.

We went one a one week this past May and had 3 SDP but only used it once at teppanyaki because it was so hard sitting through a meal with kids. That's why I decided to splurge and stay in haven so we can enjoy more things. Look forward to hearing recommendations!

  4. I have cruised with a one year old. We left the car seat at home because we lived close to the port. I brought a baby carrier and that was the best thing. When we went on excursions they were booked private and we were able to customize the tours. The tours were mostly driving around the island, and beach stop then visiting something local. The ergo baby or toddler Tula was great because they would fall asleep while the tour was going on. For stroller I would recommend an umbrella that is easy to open and close and doesn't take up much room.

  5. I have stayed on inside cabin on a high floor like 11 and liked it. I was in the room with a toddler and it was great for naps because there No light. I have booked insides on lower floors like 5 and found them to be too noisy and creaky so I recommend booking on a high floor midship if possible.

This Portable Clothesline! to hang your wet bathing suits and clotes on the balcony to dry!!! It's a lifesaver :)

    Nice!! I also order this.

On cruise I also bring extra hook magnets to hang stuff in the bathroom.

  7. Rubin sandwich in O'Sheehans, the so called lox in the buffet, it is a lox mouse sort of and am not a fan of the desserts except as others have said, Creme Burle. I was surprised to see someone say Eggs bene in the buffet. It must have been a bad morning or the end of a pan of them. I always get them and love the spinach eggs benedict.

They have real lox but you have to request it from someone standing behind the counter.

  8. I think some people need to sit back and read a book. Give Norwegian a break.

Exactly!! Working in the tech industry im pretty sure it will take weeks if not months to update all of the touch points. First the person who updates the website needs to wait for the ship schedulers to confirm the itineraries then make the updates on the site. It's not like you can just flip a switch and make the updates. A lot of involved and requires approvals/confirmations from the people planning and executives. Right now their top priority I imagine is assessing the damages on the islands and planning rerouting. Then when things settle down they will update the sites. Hence the disclaimer that things can change at any given time.

  9. Just booked 2bedroom haven for 5 (3 adults mom, sis and myself and 2 kids under 4). This is a big treat for us because it has been a rough year.

We arent really big drinkers and they are offering the UBP for first two guests. We would have to pay around 199$ for gratuity for two people (400$ estimated total cost). If we take the promo will we be required to get a UBP for the third adult too? If so then we might just have them remove the promo and do a la carte. I think we would do a drink here or there without UBP. If we had UBP then we might do two drinks max per day for myself and sis each. We usually dont go crazy and just like to try new drinks if possible.

  10. What size room do you have? Any tips with organizing clothes for 4 people in the space of the room? Traveling with a 3 and 7 year old.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

I would advise using travel cubes. They are also. I have two boys and we all have different colors. It also makes packing and unpacking easy because I can just pull out a cube. I would also recommend bringing magnetic hooks. You can use this anywhere in the cabin like on the ceiling or walls.

Lastly get this organizer because you can hang it on the side of the shower instead of the door.

  11. It would probably be complicated. As a side note I missed my cruise once in San Juan when a friend and I took an excursion that came back late. When we got to the dock we saw the ship leaving. The cabbie found us a cheap hotel where we stayed for the night and the next morning we took a flight to meet them at the next island. I worked for an airline at the time and luckily could buy the flight tickets from my phone. Also thank goodness that we had taken our passports. I like to call it our overnight excursion but would never want to do it again.

  12. This is very interesting, I went to one of the sites that track cruise prices and found out that the OP was probably looking at the very peak in the price of an SE suite. Here is what I found on an SE cabin for the 4/4/16 Pearl sailing

The cruises were announced on 4/17/14 at 3,549.00

    7/15 $3,659

    9/24 $4.029

    10/1 $4,149

    11/11 $5,519 OUCH

    2/5 $5,289

4/2 $2,999 This was the 2 mo. window of the best buy

    6/10 $3,199

    6/12 $3,299

    12/29 $3,619

Since this is a suite, they get all the promotions - is there a correlation between the promotions and the ups and downs of the price - I don't know.

I would like to know, what website do you use to track prices?

  13. We went on a feb cruise once and there were less than 20 kids on the cruise. It was awesome. Just got off the breakaway may 7 and they have around 500 kids. Which I thought was a lot. I cannot imagine over 2000. I booked a jan 2018 cruise the next day I got back.

  14. Hi JoAnn - I'm so sorry to hear about your father. My husband also passed away from cancer this past January. It's a horrible disease. Recently I have been going to a bereavement group and I read this book called option B which has helped.

I just wanted to thank you for sharing your haven reviews. My family booked Jan 5 breakaway with two balconies and may try upgrading to haven. If not we will still enjoy the cruise. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
