  1. Just finished cruise Canary Islands Spirit did five speciality dining BELIEVE me no lobster! I fear this line is heading to Carnival food.

    Could they just serve it in a speciality restaurant? We were told they took off 4 months ago.

    The food was pretty bad.

    Back to Celebrity for us

     

    Carnival food is a lot better than Norwegian..and they have Lobster night in the regular dining rooms on elegant night.

  2. I know everyone has different taste in food. Most people that have cruised several lines do not rate NCL anywhere near the top. I have only been on two other NCL cruises, but 11 Carnival, as well as RCCL, Princess. I like Carnival's food the best, but NCL was not bad..

     

    What are some really good items in the regular dining rooms (not specialty) that everyone seems to like? Or avoid? 13 more days for me!

  3. AND..because people are willing to pay the price...many people..not me..just not in my budget to spend over $1000 for two people for just two hours or less.

     

     

     

    a) Because they can

     

    b) Because it is seasonal

     

    c) Because they have to cancel many trips because of the weather

     

    d) Because they have to maintain a camp on the glacier

     

    e) Because helicopters cost a lot to run.

    The link to download your luggage tags is not overly obvious. Under "At the Pier" on your eDocs is a little suitcase. To the right of the suitcase it says, "Print luggage tags here." The word here is actually a hyperlink to your luggage tags. The print is very small and easy to miss.
  5. Yes, in fact yesterday I called about why my e-docs aren't ready 25 days till cruise..He said there was a technical issue. When I called the tech department, they gave me a different answer.. Carnival is much better..plus they watch for prices drops (and on NCL there isn't any anymore)

     

    I have found on multiple occasions now, that our PCC is flat out giving me the wrong information When I explain this to him, he just argues with me. I am unable to book shows and I'm less than 90 days out. He tells me my room 11312 on escape does not have "bathroom with a view" when any info I can find says it does. Does anyone have a PCC who knows what they are talking about and is somewhat helpful? I just want to talk to someone who actually understands the product they are working for.

  6. A friend of mine went on a day day European cruise. Her luggage never arrived..She had to go buy clothes in Denmark before she embarked (she was there five days before the trip, never arrived) In addition it was the trip from hell.. 2 days flight cancellations in Paris forcing her to cancel her excursions. She got money for clothes, her luggage, and for trip interruption. Then two weeks after she came home they found her luggage..in Morroco!

  7. I agree the Nickel and Dime ship for sure, although they all have gotten worse.. and cut down on lots of nice thing in the past three or four years.

    In my experience, NCL's biggest negatives are the free food (MDRs) and their nickel and dime culture. They're the worst in the business at money grabs. I always call them the Spirit Airlines of cruising. Also, no one steers you toward specialty restaurants like NCL. And to make matter worse, if you don't have the package, their specialty dining is ala cart pricing, and they add an 18% gratuity on top.

     

    But those negatives aside, NCL has excellent entertainment and from what I've seen, they put more effort into their main productions shows than Carnival.
