  1. I would compare cost and coverage. CCL should have a copy of the policy on the website or that they can send you and you can compare many third party plans at www.insuremytrip.com. I have heard that CCL's plan does not take traveler age into account whereas a third party insurer will.

That is what I found out when comparing cost with regards to their age. The other companies were higher than Carnival. I was just wondering if it was easier to use on the ship if they needed to see a doctor or deal with the evactuation if needed. (God forbid they have to use it :( ) At their age carnival just seemed easier to deal with.

  2. We are sailing Oct 4th out of Miami with my in laws. My husband and I got vacation insurance thru an outside company. My in laws are in their 80's and I thought it might be better/easier for them to purchase the insurance thru carnival. It is compariable to outside companies due to their age. Has anyone had any experience with the Carnival Insurance and would it be better to go with an outside company?

  3. I know this has been asked before but I couldn't locate it. My husband and I are sailing Oct 4th and we are trying to decide if it is worth it to get the Cheers Program. We will be going to 4 ports, one is Half Moon Caye. Is the Cheers Program applicable on the Half Moon Caye :) ?? Thanks!

  4. I quit smoking about 7 years ago, however my husband has not! We actually had a cruise booked on the Dream for Nov 2 and canceled because of the new policy. We were looking at sailing on the HAL but decided to just change our Carnival cruise to the begininnig of Oct prior to the smoking policy change. That gives me a year to get him to quit :D

  5. Unfortunately for us I don't think we will be seeing a price break. We booked ES for wrap aft balcony and since there is not that many of them I never see a price drop:p but love our wrap balconies:D the best I am hoping for is the $50 deposit so I can book next years cruise:)

  6. Ate there this past Saturday night. It says the dress code is Cruise Elegant (like formal night). I had kakis and a polo shirt and was fine. I have seen people with jeans with no problem.

Thank you! I didn't want to have to bring 3 formal outfits:) We love formal night but not sure about getting hubby in a suit 3 times on vacation;)

  7. Hi all,

Gina Kramer, Cruise Critic's Associate Editor, here! I am compiling a list of mistakes that can ruin your cruise and would love to hear your personal accounts.

Have you ever made a mistake while cruising that taught you a valuable lesson -- whether it was your first cruise or something that simply slipped your mind?

A few of us at Cruise Critic HQ have our own, including forgetting a visa in Romania and signing up for a burger-eating challenge. (Hey, we all make mistakes!)

Please share your stories below. I'm looking forward to reading them! :D

Yes taking 8 suitcases on our first cruise that included everything including the duct tape. I now have us down to 4 LOL:D This of course was before they started charging for bags on the airlines!

  8. We have never made reservations at the steakhouse before but since this is our 30th anniversary cruise we made it the night after the first formal night. Can anyone tell me what the dress code is? Is this formal too? Or can we dress in sundresses/casual pants for the guys? Thanks:)

  9. FTTF for breeze oct. 19 sailing is open, about 18 left.

Just curious. How can you tell how many are open? I just purchased it for our cruise (luckily:)) but I never saw it show how many were left!

  10. Uh oh..... deja vu...

Last time this happened, they got slammed for requests and put a stop to answering requests. Not saying don't do it, but maybe be careful... and be sure to not forget your "please" & "thank you"s ;)

I definitely Thanked them! They were so nice to response so soon:D Only 192 days until the Dream!
