  1. I have read through prior posts and I looked through the photos but for those who have cruised this year, what lines moved the fastest and which were the slowest to transfer to the airport?    Uber/lyft, taxi, or cruise line shuttle? This would be for passengers with only carry on luggage and provided they could easily walk to the Uber/lyft pickup area.

  2. Use it or lose it. It's described in the Terms and Conditions of the promo.

$50 Per Port Shore Excursion Credit:

$50 USD per port shore excursion credit is per stateroom.

Credit has no monetary value and is nonrefundable.

In the event a port of call or excursion is missed, for any reason, no refund or credit will be issued.

Shore excursion credit is applicable for each port, including debarkation port, and is not transferable to other ports. Use the credit or lose it.

Does not include embarkation ports. Overnight stays count as one port, except Bermuda sailings which can receive up to 3 individual days of shore excursion credit.

Shore excursion credit can only be redeemed by calling 1-866-625-1167 or booking onboard.

Thanks! The fine print isn't on the flyer they sent for group amenities.

  3. It has been awhile since I was on NCL. It was before all the Free At Sea stuff. As I am traveling with a group they are wanting to know how to reserve dining times together. My understanding is the specialty restaurants will become available online after final payment. How does it work when trying to be seated together in the main dining room? Can it be requested upon boarding with the maitre d or does it need to be requested when going to dine? What are the rules for reserving a table? Can it be reserved for 2 people or what is the minimum?

  4. How big is the group you're traveling with, and are they self-directed or do they need to be herded? That can make a huge difference. Is there anyone with mobility issues?

There is no one with mobility issues and they are pretty good at directions. In total, there are 21 of us but not all will be on the same flight. The ones wanting the early flight will not be able to carry off their luggage though. They will have too much of it, I have no doubt on that one.

  5. 11:00 AM is the earliest recommended time. That time and your time requires being in the first group off the ship. Yes you can make it but if you are like me and get worried and stressed about making an early flight you could consider taking a later flight and not rushing off the ship. However if the rest of your party wants the early flight then the key is be in the first group off the ship and head over to the airport.

Just to clarify then, they would need to carry their own bags off the ship, not collect them in the warehouse, right? Also, what is the normal wait time through SEA security if you do not have pre-check? The Ruby will be debarking passengers too so we are looking at 7000 passengers getting off between the 2 ships that morning. I am seeing old posts saying anywhere from 1/2 an hour to 1 hour in TSA lines.

  6. They will each have identical menus in the evenings. The difference is that the Manhattan Room is a much larger, more elegant space with views of the ocean in 3 directions, a large dance floor, and live music each evening. The other 2 are just plain restaurants.

Thanks, that is what I figured but I wanted to be sure. Do you know which dining room is used for breakfast?

  7. It has been awhile since I've been on NCL and the largest ship I've been on with them is the Pearl. I will be on the Bliss in July and have some questions regarding the main dining rooms.

Is there going to be a difference in the nightly menus served in Savor, Taste, and the Manhattan Room or is it just a difference in location? Also, which of these will be open for breakfast? I do realize the ship isn't even sailing yet but I would guess it will be similar to the sister ships.

  8. Ask Mother Nature herself.

Too many variables for anyone to tell you. How do you plan around an air controllers strike in Paris, ice and storms in northeast US, hurricanes in Florida ?

Mother Nature is an exception to the rule , and the nature and extent of any circumstantial event which out of our control is not possible to plan around.

I realize it is hard to determine the weather but in general, does the fog blow out by the afternoon or does it hang around for days?
