Plus,, as a diamond member, you get a discount on cabins, balcony and up, and a discount on internet when booked onboard.

That balcony discount seems to not be very useful...really...if RCCL has any other discounts (and they always do) you cannot combine them with the discount.  So, a first-time customer gets same price as Diamond Plus loyalty member.

  2. Smallest inside cabin we have ever seen.  Door from hall opened mid cabin.  The TV when pushed in all the way inhibited the entrance into the room.  It had to be extended then pushed away from the doorway.  Hardly any shelves/storage in the bathroom.  It was impossible to walk around one corner of the bed you had to crawl in and out from the foot to get in/out.  Of course, no fridge, phone was on opposite wall from the bed wall and was mounted crooked, so it was difficult to hang up, so it kept falling off.  The closet had one side that only had half of the door to the closet that would open.  This made getting to the clothes or shoes etc. a difficult stretch.  I'm not a large person, but this cabin is the first one where my own butt got in my way.  Would never book a cruise on this ship again.  I know I could get a balcony and it might be roomier but it left bad impression on us.

  3. Just got off cruise on Sunday tested positive for Covid on Saturday.  I went to the medical center after calling for an appointment at 0730 hrs.  I arrived at 0800 and was taken to an examination room and vitals were taken.  The doctor ordered a pcr test to see if I had covd, after about an hour they came and told me I was positive.  My wife was given a antigen test (she had no symptoms) it came back negative.  She was taken to our stateroom to pack our things for the move to the red zone located on the 6 deck where the quarantined people go.  I remained in the examination room until 1230 before the hazmat team came for me.  It was a team of 4 all dressed in your typical hazmat gear, one had a little portable fogger to disinfect the examination room and then follow behind me up to the 6 deck fogging behind me in the hallway.  I waited for about 30 minutes for my wife to be brought down, they had to defog our original cabin along with our luggage.  Once in the room you are in quarantine you will get room service but you cannot leave.  The next morning at 0600 they brought down breakfast.  At 0700 they came for us with the hazmat team and a luggage buggy.  They loaded the luggage and took it down to deck two where we were deboarded.  The day before my wife told me a rep. came down when she was packing and took pictures of our vacc cards and our passports.  Upon our deboarding we did not have to deal with customs.  Once off the ship they had 4 to 5 black large SUV's standing by.  Our luggage was loaded into the SUV and we were taken to our vehicle in he parking lot where they loaded our car.  Now to answer your question they gave me dayquil and niquil and a small bag of cough drops.

I will just throw this one out there.  Can the cruise lines not test passengers prior to embarkation on their ships.  This then solves all the problems with social distancing, masks, half full ships etc..   Of coarse the question is?  How the heck are they going to do that on embarkation day?  Simple.....move up the embarkation day by 24hrs.  You don't start your cruise holiday at the pier, you start it at a pre-selected hotel(s) the day before your cruise.  I'm going to assume that there are private labs out there that could process these tests within 24hrs?  Therefore, when everyone does join the ship they have all tested negative.  Now there's lots of logistics involved here, but I'm going to go out on a limb and guess any major hotel chain would be more then happy to book their entire property out to Royal Caribbean at a discounted rate.  Let's face it, hotels are in the same boat as cruise lines. They have zero business coming in the door in the foreseeable future.  Here's the caveat:  You check in for your cruise at your assigned hotel 24hrs prior to sailing.  Someone shoves a swab down your throat and has you proceed to the front desk for your room assignment.  Here's the sticky part.  You can't leave your hotel room until cleared and you get on a bus the following day for your trip to the port.  So if your fare just increased by $100. per person, would you book a cruise knowing that you are getting on a virus free ship.  This could also be reversed where you are swabbed prior to entering the ship at your last port.  These swabs are then flown to the city where the lab(s) are located and tests processed prior to the ship arriving for it's turn around, if the county of entry has concerns.

I would think this could work and satisfy local governments and the CDC.

That would be a major problem...so many reason.   Not so sure a hotel would want  to take this mess on.  It sounds like a TLC idea for a series. Like Honey Boo Boo, or married at first sight.  Three to five thousand people showing up at one time with loads of luggage,  who can't leave, everybody is hungry standing in line for test, hoping they are negative and realizing they could possibly be contagious but not testing positive yet.  All the story lines real or  contrived....everybody checking out the next day needing transport to the port, breakfast...and on and on it  goes...Nah

Astrazeneca has stated they will have 300M US vaccine doses by September. Now, take that for what it is worth. It is most likely a placebo to calm everyone's nerves that they will charge $50-$500 for, everyone will have to take it, and it won't do anything. There will be no true vaccine for 2-3 years assuming they have completed 1st stage trials already. Any vaccine will come with 500-pages of side effects and a waiver clause to take it eliminating liability. It is a complete win/win for any pharmaceutical.

Thanks for the heads up.  Looks like no cruising for 2-3 years.  And my 500 dollar deposit for my next cruise will go for a worthless placebo.  Maybe I can buy some stock in Astrazeneca and in 2-3 years I will get a Jr. Suite if there are any cruise lines still in business.  This is getting depressing I think I will go to MSNBC for some encouragement.

  6. This reminds me of a person who has a car with only liability insurance.  The person is involved in a auto accident that they are clearly at fault in and their car is destroyed.  The owner calls his insurance company to get the car repaired and finds out that their policy is liability only and is a total loss,    They cannot accept this and decide to tell everyone they know how heartless and uncaring this particular company is.  I have not read if the OP had purchased insurance but if he did not then who takes on the risk when the proper insurance is not purchased?

Not defending him, but once again, only HE knows what he knew regarding the window.

He denied knowing in several interviews, but was it a lie or the truth?  Only HE knows.

But, it's hard to believe, based on public evidence, that he did not know.

The human mind works in mysterious ways.

Based on this logic, nobody knows anything about anything other than what THEY subjectively want to believe about it.  Therefore my truth is mine and I'm sticking with it.  Faced with overwhelming  video evidence you simply maintain YOUR truth and YOU should not be doubted about YOUR truth.  Simply a case of the Grandfather's attempt to shift blame so he can live with himself and in the process get a settlement from RCCL.  The video is a  lawsuit ender, any thinking person can see that.  Even if a jury with people who refuse to recognize the truth because of sympathy for the family on appeal it would sink like a rock.
