Hello,

My SIL will be on the Insignia next month and is wondering how to get from the ship to the most convenient town. From reading posts, Portland isn't the attraction. What would you suggest for her? She and her husband are seasoned travelers, but haven't been to this region of the British Isles before. Should they get to Dorchester then explore from there? Are there taxis to hire? Are there places to walk and explore on their own? I know there are several well-known attractions in the area, but they love the more out of the way things.

It looks like, from the deck plan, that we have a big orange tender outside our window...but considering the savings for our Med cruise next spring, it will be tolerable. Anyone have pictures from that area? :confused:
