Bring everything your baby needs. There are very few supplies on board. You might want to being a duck tub to bath baby in. Disposible bibs are great. Bring all medications and your sheets for the crib/pack-in-play.
There's a great Family board with tons of information. You might want to check that out.
Have a great family cruise.:)

Thank you for your opinion. I see you have sailed Valor : ) I hope it was a good cruise for you. It seems people would opt for the balcony more so than a refurbished ship.
I have to say it was an excellent cruise. And as other people always say, a cruise is what you make of it. Just remember if you get a dish that you don't like, order another. :D

As you can see, I've sailed on both lines and this next cruise is on Royal. It never hurts to try something new. At least you can form your own oppinion on what works for you. I don't sail on Royal often because they tend to be more expensive for me. I think its because of all the extra bells and whistles (ice rink, rock wall, flow rider, etc). I don't use them so why pay more. But thats just me. I cruise for the itinerery. :)

Sorry you had issues on your cruise. Since this particular cruise is so port intensive, you probably did not have much opportunity to have breakfast in the main dining room. I eat there whenever I get the opportunity. :)
The Jumbotron has always been a turn off for me. I head to other parts of the ship to avoid it when I can.
Agree with you on getting around on this class of ships. its a pain. I've learned a few tricks over the years to make it easier.

On my last cruise, I walked into the cabin and there was a red rose in a vase. My boyfriend buys me flowers on the ship every cruise but he knows I don't like red roses. him "Who's that from?" me "Heck if I know. No card. Maybe it got left by the last passenger. Not fresh." we were both surprised. :D

I always use my passport to board when coming from shore. Works just fine.

I don't remember if they put away the serenity deck furniture but the hammocks there are AWESOME and padded. Big enough to hold two people.
-
I guess I don't trust them at all with my delicates. *grin* I use the self laundry on a sea day in the morning and all my stuff is done the way I like it.

any place in the historic district will be very nice. We chose to stay at Four Points by Sheraton which is right at the edge of the historic district. We walked all over the historic district and the hotel was very nice.
Please please go to the Chart House on Bay street. http://www.chart-house.com/locations/savannah/
They also have a wonderful happy hour. Seriously, we found one great place after another there. But you can narrow it down via Yelp.com.
I'm a bit jealous. *grin*

On John Heald's facebook page. He lists them every Thursday when he can.

Afternoon bump for those who need their football fix. :)

I did this exact cruise this year. LOVE LOVE New Orleans. Now your going to get some sticker shock. We stayed at a private B&B in Marigny which is a little neighborhood just out of the quarter. Quiet, safe and easy walk to the action. It was $500 a night but all of the B&Bs/hotels go UP for Marti Gras. So I don't know how much you want to spend. To me, it was worth it.

Yes its allowed.

But you can buy a bottle of Vodka from Bon Voyage and have it in your cabin. :)
-
Interesting... I wonder who's making a bid to be the major sharehold owner of Carnival.
-
And let her know that there is a fine involved as well. I think the going rate is $250. I'm sure someone will correct me if I have the amount wrong. I don't smoke so never been fined.

Last bump before the weekend for those wacky football fans who need thier fix. Bon Voyage :)

As you can see by my history, I've done both and my cruise in Feb 2014 is on Royal. I wanted a different itinerary and just a change of pace for my boyfriend. The thing that gets me is I paid the same price for an inside room as I did on my last carnival cruise for a balcony. ouch.
I can only guess its the extra bells and whistles on the ship. Its stuff I don't use so I will probably go back to Carnival again until I feel the need for another change. :)

This thread makes me laugh. Just last night, my hubby said to me that the Eagles are playing the day we arrive on the ship next week. So I asked, "Are you going to spend the entire trip watching the games?" His response was "Hey, obviously if they show the game, they want me to watch it."
OY!
I'm sure the cruise line had to make special arrangements with the NFL just to show the games. I got to watch the super bowl this year while on my cruise. it was fun.
-
WAIT! So are these the ONLY GAMES?
I'm interested in the Washington vs Atlanta game.
Will it not be shown?
they use the Miami sat feed in the east and a different sat feed from the west. so that might explain why they are showing Miami in stead of Atlanta. I can never tell.

We carry on a 12 pack at every port. No problems.

both of your kids are adults. The 19 year old can do anything the 21 year old can do except drink. Carnival, Royal caribbean or NCL would do the trick.
