  1. In regard to the cruisers who booked a Cuba itinerary with MyVegas points or a Casino Royale offer -- I'm in a similar situation - I had booked the cruise with Royal Caribbean Visa points. I was told I would receive compensation in the form of OBC once onboard but never received it. We spoke to Guest Services on the ship (a late August sailing), who were nice but unable to help us. Since returning home, I've been on the phone 2.5 hours trying to get a partial refund of the monetary equivalent of my Visa points. I used over $1000 worth of Visa points and am being told I am getting $53 in compensation. Ugh. Did anyone else book a Cuba itinerary with Royal Caribbean Visa points? I've already escalated to a supervisor who is unwilling to help me.
  2. We recently stayed on Deck 5 on the Majesty and enjoyed how convenient it was to the Schooner Bar, the casino, and the Main Dining Room. We had an Ocean View room that had an ample window, adequate storage, good water pressure, etc. Wishing you all a great cruise!
  3. I agree with the others who are recommending balconies. We've done three Alaskan cruises (all on Holland so far), and we chose the northbound itineraries each time because they were cheaper than the southbound itineraries.
  4. Agree with Island Lady -- we too thought our first Alaska trip was our "once in a lifetime" trip, but we liked it so much that we're not looking at Alaskan cruise #4. We've done both cruisetours and cruises (all on Holland so far) but are considering Royal for our next one.
  5. So enjoyed reading about your trip and seeing all of those fantastic photos! Wishing you a wonderful time on your next sailing!
  6. We were just off the Majesty for the first time in late August. I agree that the Schooner Bar piano player, Eric, was excellent! And this Schooner Bar seemed larger and more light-filled than those on other ships. We were happy we chose a room on Deck 5 so that we were close to the Schooner Bar and casino and a quick walk to the Main Dining Room. We'd happily sail on Majesty again!
  7. What a great photo of Maggie! Two of my favorites in one photo - a smiling dog and a cruise ship. Love it! I'm a therapy dog handler myself and can attest to the training and socialization that go into getting a pup ready to make visits. Hats off to you and Maggie! It is so nice of you and Maggie to greet the ship! We've cruised to Juneau three times (one of our most favorite ports ever), and I know it would have made my day to get to meet Maggie. Leaving our pups at home is the only downside to cruising, and I'm sure she's brought many smiles to the passengers.. Wishing you and Maggie the best!
  8. Thank you for posting all of these fun details about the Majesty! We are sailing a re-routed Cuba cruise (to the Bahamas now) later this month. It will be our first time on the Majesty - looking forward to it!
