Valid point on the variations in ships, etc. Great tip on asking the server.
So, keeping that in mind...
The sweet and sour shrimp was prepared well, served hot and was awful.
The Indian vegetarian cutlet is always good, but better on some cruises.
The muesli varies, but is always the most delicious thing in the world.
Looking forward to trying some of your favorites...won't blame you if they aren't prepared well, cold or otherwise sub par on this particular cruise :)

I very much enjoy seeing your lovely shoes, but will need to form my own club based on my much loved black sandals that go with everything and flat pack. You will see them every night.
Just know we love your shoes as much as you do!

I booked an SZ guarantee at $2,000 less than published rate pp. I knew the gamble and was willing to take it after years of having to pick cabins based on having one child in the room. I enjoy the suspense and we don't have any needs based on mobility, noise, etc.
So...I got an SY below the very edge of the pool which is totally acceptable and could have been worse. It is very much equivalent to the location of the "we need to fill the ship" SZ category.
It was assigned 10 days out after my TA called. I was not worried, just curious. No up sells were offered which I expected because all the Verandahs and up were labeled sold out.

In so many of the food reviews folks say that the MDR is good if you "order right" I would love to see your opinions on the big hits and the big misses.
I'll start:
not so good:
Sweet and sour tempura shrimp
favorites:
Indian style vegetable cutlet is my daughter's absolute favorite.
muesli and raisin buns
How about you?

Not an exciting story, but booked guarentee SZ due to low price and ended up with SY in a perfectly fine location.

Very interesting...that you so much for the photos.

I attended a special chef's dinner on the Westerdam years ago where the chef prepared dinner in front of about 20-30 people and we ate together, and as many of you suspect...the cold soups are literally thin milkshakes. So...maybe order them for dessert!
My least favorite dinner is the international dinner. The food is just not good. I think it is because it is the end of the 7 day cruises and I find the food quality goes down (as it should) as all the freshest things get eaten.

I had trouble finding a hotel for May 28. It may have been an anomaly, but do some searching and Your cruise line deal may be what you need to go with. The Marriott only had $600 rooms left.

I got it. Seemed like they were trying to reconfirm what they are doing with the chef signature dishes and the wine tastings, mixology and culinary art center. Also, asked name recognition of chefs. I just remember Bobby Flay, Michael Mina, Rudy S. And Jacque Torres.
They did not ask my opinion regarding the loss of Dutch and Indonesian food which I mourn.

I've always gotten one from the cabin stewards.
Help us "order right" in the MDR

I will eat anything that would be served on HAL...so quail is a good tip as I wouldn't have ordered it otherwise.
