I think that might be a bit of a poor choice of words.  I would venture to guess that requested really means required in this instance.

I would also think that Carnival knows the importance of their wording and would have said required if that is what it was. I’m sure we will hear more in the next few days clearing up some of our questions.

  2. I have been working with a rep from Carnival to book a room on the Carnival Breeze that leaves next January. This was a part of a group and we booked 4 balcony cabins but I had them switch mine to an interior because I was concerned with the cost. On Friday, my original balcony cabin was showing as available again online and I decided to just go for it. So I called my rep and he said he could get it moved but we would have to wait until today because the people who can do it without losing my OBC promo were not there.

So today I call and now he says that the room is for 4 people (there are 2 of us) so we cannot have the room anymore (even though we originally had it booked). Plus, he cannot move it without losing the OBC promo (even though on Friday he said he could have it done).

I am a bit frustrated now. Does anyone have any advise as to what I could do?

  3. Hello all,

I am planning on bringing my Canon 5D Mark IV and several lenses (including a 70-200) on my next cruise- but I don’t want to bring my full size tripod and have been looking for something smaller. I keep seeing those flexible tripods that can wrap around hand railings and whatnot. Which one would you recommend for me?

  4. Again, thank ALL of you for ALL of your help! That is what I was thinking, but it beings peace of mind to me when other people confirm it.

And I understand what all of you are saying about how it is better to have one in case of emergency. The thing is, I already have a passport... somewhere. I recently moved and all of my stuff is inbetween two places... and my passport is lost somewhere in one of the many boxes.

The big reason I had to ask this is because I am taking my girlfriend on this cruise (and this is her FIRST cruise) and she has never even left the country before and therefore does not have a passport... and I am a little rusty on all the new passport rules.

Again, thanks everyone for their help!

  5. Okay, I am pretty sure I already have the answer, but being as paranoid as I am, I just have to ask and hopefully that'll relieve some of my tension...

I am looking at booking a cruise (Carnival) that leaves and returns to Miami, and hits Grand Cayman, Jamaica, and Cozumel in Jan of 2010. Is a passport needed or is a birth certificate and Drivers license all I need?

Thanks for any help I get...
