How do you return something to the gift shop?
Carry it back to the gift shop and say " I would like to return this purchase".

I'm struggling with the same problem... don't want to go to another cookie cutter Cruise company made resort. Not "Beliz-y" at all. I've been to Mexican ruins before and therefore don't want another replica of an excursion I've already done. I've inquired about snorkeling but all are too far away from the island. I'll follow this thread to see if there are any good feedback... otherwise we'll just stay on the ship!

I'm hearing ya.

We were on the Dawn sailing starting on 12/23 and ending on 12/30. The Christmas decorations remained up the entire time and showed no signs of removal when we left.
It could be that they do the 12 days of Christmas thing. Our stuff stays on through tomorrow night.

Zoo.

I daresay that this is not something that very many people have EVER wondered about.

LMAO it was 100% sarcasm
Ya think? !!!:)

Seeing as how maple syrup is clearly not a beverage, I can't see how the no beverages rule would apply; but to be on the safe side I'd bring a small container of it so worse case scenario is they pitch it.

Well, it's drinkable.
I understand not wanting to use the fake stuff. Maple syrup isn't on our packing list.
-
You weren't excited by Harvest Cay?
-
What new rules? I see no reason why you should not be able to take Maple Syrup onto the ship if it is in a sealed container that has not been opened.
The 'No bringing consumable liquids onto the ship' rule.
No water or pop allowed. We must assume that maple syrup would be included. I feel the pain. Fake maple syrup is simply vile.

There was an extended thread on this exact subject.
Here ya go.

With the new rules you probably won't be able to bring it onto the ship.

I think this poster has watched Titanic a few too many times.
I was gonna watch 'Titanic' way back when. Then a neighbor spoiled things and told me the boat sinks in the end. Ruined it for me so I didn't see the movie.

Are you no longer permitted to carry on a third child? I always just smacked a luggage tag on the third and left him curbside with the porter.
Nope. Since the kid is mostly water this doesn't work anymore.
The ban on bringing water on board comes into play.
-
. Survival suits would definitely boost a ship's safety record.
How do you figure that?

This is one of the services that the Service Charge pays for.

Not with scissors.

You could do what some people have done.
Drink lots of beer or wine.
That's how they make water safe to drink.
-
Had I known a simple question about whether ship's water is drinkable would stir up such an old feud, I wouldn't have asked. I've been lucky to live someplace with good tap water and always assume I'll drink that unless told otherwise.
There are absolutely some people who believe that they will die from drinking safe tap water, at home or on the ship. They have been sold a lie.
-
Is there a reason not to simply drink tap water from your room or suite? I mean, is it contaminated or something?
mooph
There is no reason to eschew the water from the tap nor the water that they will serve you with every meal.

I see that you didn't make a New Years resolution to not enter threads and make 'snide' remarks that doesn't concern you're cruise experience personally.
The same could be said about wine, champagne, beer.....They all are called the same so they MUST taste the same so why bother having a 'choice'.
Well they do have a different TASTE and water to "some" have a different taste.
Happy New Year.
Hold the Evian bottle in front of the mirror and read the label.
You are missing the point in re the water. They cannot stock a decent selection of beer which could actually satisfy a lot of people. Taking the effort and space to stock a selection of bottled water would be as stupid wanting them to do so.
-
You do realize that LOTS of people just drink the ship's water.
Tastes great.
Price is right.
Unlimited.
Those that like to carry a bottle around just bring a few empties from home.
Oh now.
Don't you realize how wonderful it would be for the ships to have a HUGE selection of bottled water from all over the world so the water connoisseurs
could sit around and compose some water pairing for their meals?
Shewt, the ship could set up a showroom to display the vast selection of varied bottled waters
And they could probably make four people on every cruise just ecstatic with this nonsense. It seems like a VERY cost-effective revenue generator for them.
-
The same amount as with any other cruise company.
It's not a rule that the cruise companies created.
-
Fantastic.
Not really but you know.
Kinda like a Six Flags park.
-
I'm thinking the 19yr old cannot get the UBP. They won't serve him liquor, only beer. There are threads addressing the subject.
-
It isn't near Belize City.
At this point we have heard that the only way off the island is via a NCL excursion and those are very limited options.
The beverage plan isn't in play on the island, they have you captured.
