  1. If it would not be an inconvenience to you, would you please check what doors are in the hallway across from 3155. Someone told me one of the doors leads to a crew staircase and my husband is concerned the area might be noisy. Thank you in advance for your time in checking out this area.

I'll try and get to see it tomorrow.

  2. Thanks for answering questions....

I have one.....we are on Reflection in 9 days taking your Eastern Caribbean route...what times are the headline shows? We will be enjoying the Suite Life and want to plan dinner reservations in Lumonae around them....thanks in advance and enjoy the rest of your cruise....

    7 and 9 PM.

  3. I'm really cruising about the proximity of room 1620 to the elevators, library balcony and balcony that over looks the central atrium. I know it's close, but am curious how close and if there's any separation or noise barriers from the stateroom doors to these public areas. If you're able to provide a picture or two, that would be fantastic, but if not, a description will more than do.

Only if you have a chance... because of course your vacation and relaxation are priority!!

    Thanks!

I just went exploring around your future stateroom. Nice spot. There are glass sliding doors and then the wall that separate the hallway from two comfy chairs. There were two people in the chairs chatting when I went past and I couldn't hear them from the hallway in front of your stateroom. Game on is two floors below and it was full and I didn't hear any noise from that venue either. I took a few photos I'll try and post them when I return and I can go back and see if there is any noise in the area.

The room looks like it is adjacent to a Royal Suite. I don't think they'd place a RS in the spot if noise was an issue.

  4. Happy to hear that you are enjoying.

If at all possible could you kindly post a listing of the Senior Officers and Personnel; what is usually outlined on the "Spotlight" sheet that you receive on arrival day.

    Thank you very much.

  5. I'll be on the Reflection for the first time next month, so I appreciate you taking the time to answer questions. I realize you may choose to wait till you're back home before addressing each of these! So here we go...

1- Please tell us about any excursions you took. We didn't take any ship sponsored excursions. In Puerto Rico we walked around town and did some shopping. We then visited Castillo San Cristobal, did a little more shopping and had dinner./COLOR]

2- Which nights were Chic nights. The 2nd and 6th nights.

3- Which category room are you in and are you pleased with it We are in a balcony cabin, 1A on the angle of the hump. Love it.

4- What is your reaction to the nightly shows as well as any other entertainment events. We love live shows and music. I think the shows are good to very good. The production singers have good voices and as long as they pick songs catered to their strengths they do fine. The dance is basic and my daughter who studied dance for 16 years didn't give it high marks. Whether that is due to talent or choreography I do not know. I enjoyed them although they were usually short 45 minutes to an hour. The comedians made me laugh

5- Which restaurant(s) have you eaten in and how was the food. We ate most nights in the main dining room. The food was very good and better in my opinion then when last we cruised in 2011. We ate one night in QSine and enjoyed that as well. The Ocean View Cafe was good as well. I'll give more details in my review.

Thanks in advance for any answers you may give!

You are quite welcome. Glad to help.
  6. We will be on Reflection starting 1/28 for our B2B. We have sailed her 4 times and really enjoy the ship. If you don,t mind, can you tell me what was offered for booking the Ireland/Iceland trip as far as perks and credits? We booked the 5/10/18 Ireland/Iceland but wanted to see what was offered on board as a booking deal. Thanks and enjoy the rest of the trip!

I'd have to look at the cruise documents but I think it was the Go Big package and we picked the drink package. Plus we received a $250 OBC and reduced deposit.

  7. We also have an alcove reserved for Thursday of our trip!...are you enjoying that? It will be our first time in an alcove. Really looking forward to that.

Our first time in one too.

We are enjoying the experience. There are 5 on each side. We are on the starboard side, one off the end closest to the Porch. It is very windy topside today so they cannot open the canopies so it gets quite sunny. That said you can lie on the lawn right in from on the alcove as the short wall profile some small area of shade. There is a small 2 person couch with one side so you can sit or lie down, two wicker chairs with cushions and an ottoman. Comfortable for 4. The walls provide some barrier from the wind and some privacy but they are fairly open. There are waiters that can get you a drink from the sunset bar but you need to ahvea drink package or pay for them.

Around 12-1PM they bring you a nice plate of assorted cheeses, fruits and a basket of saltine crackers. There is a phone to call for an attendant if you need something and they walk by occasionally as well. They can also bring you food from the Porch Restaurant but that is an up charge as well. The Mast Grill is a few feet away as well as the Sunset Bar.

I will take a look later today and snap a few photos. No problem :)

  9. One other question about the internet. The last several times on Celebrity, they offered several different internet packages; but according to what I see online, there is just one option which is about $250 (?) for the week. I only need to send a couple of e-mails to friends who have birthdays while I am away so $250 is a bit steep. Do you know if there are other packages available?

    Thanks again!

We have unlimited as part of a package. I'm pretty sure they have options from as little as 40 minutes and up. I will stop by the iCafe and see what I can find out for you.

  10. Are you sailing the Eastern Carib ? My wife and I are on that cruise at the end of March, last time we did it there were a couple of rough sea days. I am wondering if that is normal for this cruise because you sail over some pretty open water. They even cancelled our excursion in one port because of rough seas, can't remember if it was St. Kitts or St. Martin.

Yes same itinerary. No problem from Miami to PR seas were pretty calm.

St Martin and St Kitts a little choppier but nothing that bothered me and I have some sensitivity to motion.

The Captain altered our route going back from St Kitts to Miami to avoid a storm that was heading in the direction of our route. Last night it was fairly rocky, a lot of motion. Today it is worse. 20+ MPH winds and moderate to rough seas. Beautiful day though. He is doing his best to get to good weather.

  11. Good morning,

Glad to hear you are having a great time and looking forward to reading your entire review. We board Reflection in 51 days (but who's counting?).

I understand the Lawn Club Grill is open on some days for lunch. By any chance, do you know which days? We are thinking about doing that for lunch on the day we have a late arrival into San Juan.

Thanks...enjoy the rest of your cruise.

I'm trying to remember if it was open on our day in PR.... I was on deck 14 the deck below and smelled something good at lunchtime so perhaps. I will ask.

We are on a sea day today and are in an alcove right near it. They are open for lunch today for sure. Pretty empty but it it only 12PM and very windy and rocky today.

  12. Congratulations!

You are going to have a great time. I would go ahead and book the GO Best package. You will have the greatest choices of room and ship location. If you are booking a Concierge Cabin you might give consideration to the ones on the hump of the ship as the balconies are larger even though they don't appear to be so on the deck plans. If you see later on down the line they start offering it again at a reduced price you can cancel your reservation. Then rebook the new package. You do run the chance of losing your original room choice though.

We enjoy the main dining room and there are some good choices. The specialty restaurants vary in quality and cuisine and opinions vary but I would book at least a few for your special occasion. We had dinner in QSine last night and it the room was good not amazing but it was just a lot of fun eating there.

With the premium drink package you can drink quite a lot without having to worry about an up charge. A few of the more expensive wines by the glass require you to pay the difference. A few cocktails at the World Class bar are over the limit and the martini flight at the martini bar.

I'm onboard now so any specific questions ask away.

    Ron

  13. Currently at sea on the Reflection. I'm going to post a detailed review when we are off the ship but I just wanted to express my opinion, especially in light of many negatives I've read recently. We are having a great time on a great ship with a great crew. So much so that we booked two more cruises while we are onboard.

If there are any questions specific to the Reflection or the eastern caribbean itinerary I can answer or find out when I am still onboard feel free to ask.

  14. We are on the Reflection since Saturday.

    My experiences so far.

Martini Bar. I haven't seen any servers. The bartenders have been great. If they can't handle you immediately they let you know it will be just a minute. Haven't waited more then 3 -4 minutes there so far.

Ensemble Lounge. Bartender was quick. Servers were there almost upon us sitting down.

World Class Bar. Was pretty empty. Cannot imagine it would take long there.

Bar service in the theatre was quick.

    Sunset Bar. Quick service.

I'm going to post a detailed review when we get home.

My experience so far has not mirrored most of the recent complaints I have seen.

  15. We've been to Bermuda on the Summit in 2011. The kids in our group ranged from 13 - 17 at the time.

Everyone had a great time and was never bored. That said if the boys are high energy they may prefer a Royal Caribbean ship with more activities like rock climbing etc. If they are ok with other type of activities there are always things to do.

Lots of things to see and do in Bermuda especially the beaches.

  16. In 2009 we did an 11 night cruise in the Eastern Med (Italy, Turkey, Greece and a few Greek islands).

We travelled the last few days in July and the 1st week in August. The only place I remember the heat being an issue was Istanbul and Turkey (some days over 100 degrees). We had a large group that ranged in age from 9 years old to 88.

Even the eldest was able to navigate the excursions.

Sun protection (hats, sunglasses and sunscreen) is a must. The hat vendor was doing a thriving business. Stay hydrated.

  17. I've been on 3 Celebrity cruises and 1 on Disney.

All four cruses were great but I have to give the edge to Disney.

We were with our kids who were pre teen and teenage at the time.

The ship was filled with kids but it never felt that way. Our kids opted not to participate in the kid clubs on Disney but there was plenty of activities we all enjoyed together.

Disney's stage shows were better, the food was better and the service was slightly better.

The price was significantly more on Disney. The split bathroom with the sink outside made it easier for us to get ready quicker.

As an adult I enjoyed Disney more but I also had a great time on all of my Celebrity cruises. You get more with Disney but you are paying for it.

  18. Hi Ron,

We've eaten in the MDR on past Celebrity cruises and haven't seen a separate vegetarian menu, but they always seem to have an vegetarian option as part of the evening's offerings. I have always found the servers and kitchen to be very accommodating and can substitute things if asked.

Thanks Paul. My understanding is they don't offer the seperate vegetarian menu unless asked. I know they have one option but it is nice to have a selection. I'm sure omnivores wouldn't like a menu with one choice, lol.

    http://www.celebritycruises.com/onboard-celebrity/onboard-special-dietary-needs

This shows the option of a separate 7 day vegetarian menu but I found this by googling it, and couldn't navigate to it through the site directly. I've heard people who have traveled who said they definitely have one and other who say they don't. Which is why I asked if you could ask a server.

Anyway sorry to take your thread off topic. Have an awesome cruise!

  19. Paul:

I know that you aren't dining in the MDR but if isn't a great inconvenience could you ask your waiter if they have a separate vegetarian menu in the MDR? I have received conflicting reports depending on the ship and we are sailing on the Reflection is less then two weeks.

    Thanks so much.

    Ron
