  1. For the first time on a cruise - I am doing one of Carnival's excursions. We always book private ones - but the timing just wasn't working out right. So, we are doing an early snorkeling trip and we're looking at going here afterwards. Since it's a cheap taxi and quick drive - it looks like it would work out for a short trip if we have some extra time. Thanks for posting the pics! Looks like a quiet laid back place - which is what I was looking for!
  2. Wow - that sounds great!! Thanks for all the info including taxi and umbrella/chair prices!! I'll mention this to my daughters!
  3. I'm going to be in Aruba next month and I'm trying to decide between a snorkeling tour or a beach trip. I don't like super crowded, loud beaches. I like scenic ones with a more limitied crowd like Shipwreck in St. Kitts or Nachi Cocom in Cozumel. Does anyone know of a beach like that? How far from the port? Taxi price? Safe for me to go to with my daughters? Thanks for any suggestions!
  4. We (me and 4 daughters 14-22) will be in Aruba from 8-4 (9-5 local time) I was looking at the Mi Dushi Snorkeling trip. Can anyone tell me how far from the cruise port it is? How much for a taxi? We arrive at 8 and the tour leaves at 9 ship time. Will this give me enough time to get there?
  5. Thank you! I knew the site for Port Canaveral and used it a couple of times and was hoping there was a similar site for FLL!
  6. What is your favorite place to stay in FLL that has cruise parking and transport? I would prefer oceanfront and since I'm traveling with 4 daughters - looking for the best deal!! Last time I was in FLL I stayed in Lauderdale by the Sea and loved that area. We had a smaller mom and pop hotel on the ocean. This time, I don't think I want to stay that far from the port. Any suggestions?
  7. My daughters and I spent the day at Shipwreck in October. It is one of my favorite beaches and I purposely booked a cruise with St. Kitts as an itinerary because I wanted my daughters to see it. Shipwreck isn't for everyone. It's very low key - not a fancy touristy place. The snorkeling from shore is decent. The views are outstanding! Just swim out to the platform and enjoy the clear water. When you arrive in port- your taxi driver should know whether or not Shipwreck is still open. Some taxi drivers will try to take you to Carambola - assuming you're looking for a more upscale experience. You could message Shipwreck from their FB account closer to the time you're visiting. On 11.23, they posted that they were hiring seasonal workers. It doesn't sound like they're planning on closing anytime soon.
