Just a few observations: Embarkation was quick, on board by 12:15. Sea were very rough first 2 days, I had to leave the dining room the first night due to the motion.
The ship is in need of updates and refreshing. Our cabin, 6487, extended aft balcony. The room directly above comedy club, could hear the shows. The floor had a spot between the bed and table that buckled and popped when stepped on. Some trim in the cabin was broken off. Room looked clean, however, there was visible dust on the shelf that had the TV on it. This stayed all cruise. I asked for ice the first evening, did not receive it until the 2nd night. Also had to request robes.
The food in the dining room was good. Our wait staff was attentive. Food in the lido buffet was not as good. The barbecue on deck 10 was good, as was the deli, cantina, and Guys.
We enjoyed the Dive in movies. The music was okay for the most part. Liked a sax and trombone duet.
Debarkation was a mess. The gangway was broken so everyone was delayed.
It was round 11:30 when we finally got our luggage and waited in a long line for customs.
If you have any questions, I will try to answer them.

Would appreciate tips, suggestions, etc. for first time Royal cruiser. Have been on 11 Holland America and Carnival cruises. Looking at Allure of the Seas. Thank you

The past several weeks I have watched the port Everglades web cam and noticed the Conquest leaving past the 4 pm departure time. Today it was 5:40. Any ideas if the ship is having issues or if it just because there are so many ships in port?

In the past, I could view my account and menus on the cabin TV. Is this still possible?

We have flown into Fort Lauderdale many times and rented cars, this time we are taking a hotel shuttle. Years ago there were specific phones in baggage claim that connected directly to a specific hotel. Are these still available or because most people have cell phones, have they been discontinued?

I am looking at booking the Sheraton Suites Plantation for 2 nights pre cruise (11/3-11/5). Prices on anything near the beach in Ft Lauderdale is sky high due to the boat show and the Hyatt on value trips is not available for those days. :(
I have stayed in Hollywood near/on beach and would stay again as it is not too far from port but just thought we could try something different?? We will get a car so driving is not a problem. Any thoughts on the hotel and/or area??
Thanks
We have stayed there, but it has been 4 or 5 years ago. The area is fine. Shopping and restaurants close. The hotel was nice. Liked the separate sleeping and living area.

For those who pack in a carry on, my hat is off to you! I just took a 3 night trip and had a 21 inch carry on and small bag (reusable grocery type). Both were pretty full.

Friends are going on a 7 day Carnival cruise. Four coworkers and I want to buy wine to be delivered. I read you can only have 2 bottles delivered. Can each of us buy a bottle and request it be delivered on a different day. We want to send them a bottle for each day they cruise.

We are staying overnight on a Sunday in December in Miami after our cruise. We will have a car. Any recommendations on what to do?
-
That is exactly what I am concerned about.
If you are not able to pick up your rental car within an hour of when you schedule it, you may want to call the rental car company and let them know you are held up. Last year in Jacksonville, we were delayed getting off the ship and when we showed up 30 to 45 minutes late at the rental car office, they had already given our car to someone else and didn't have a comparable car available. We ended up having to get a car several categories above what we needed and had to pay the difference.... -
Post cruise we are renting a car. What time should I put as the pick up time? Cruise from Port Everglades, car rental FLL. I was thinking 10:30, but not sure. Anyone have first hand experience?

Just received my confirmation. Submitted the request on Tuesday. This saved me about $100 from the price quoted on their website!
-
For those who submitted a reservation have you received a confirmation? I am still waiting.

I tried to book Hyatt Place on value trips, but kept getting an error message when I submitted my reservation request. Any ideas why or if this happens often? Thanks for your help.

Are there refrigerators in the balcony cabins on the Triumph?
-
Are the balconies on deck 8 larger than deck 9? I thought I read they were but the diagrams look pretty much the same size. Also any thoughts on 8340 cabin from someone who has stayed there. Thanks in advance for the help!

Are the balconies on deck 12 larger than deck 11? In the deck plan diagrams they appear larger.

I want to redeem points for 4 bottles of wine. Anyone know if there is a limit on how many bottles of wine you can get. Someone stated from Bon voyage carnival gifts you can only get 2.
Thanks for your help.

Is there any way to get a Carnival printed brochure of their cruises? RCCI, Holland, Princess and Celebrity still offer them on their websites. Thanks in advance for your help.

What cabins have refrigerators (minibar)?

Reviews seem to be useless now. I went through a lot of hassle to only have 8,000 people look at the pictures. Surely my pictures (and Ginny's can't be that bad!
We are cruising on the Sunshine in December. Thanks for the pictures!

We are interested in the December 10th cruise on Sunshine. The only balcony cabins showing as available are spa cabins. Hard to believe the other balconies are sold out. If I have to book a spa cabin, which deck would you recommend and why? (Cabins on 10, 11, & 12)
Thanks for your help!

On HAL and Carnival we could add money to our own board credit once the cruise was booked. Does RCI offer this option? I could not find it on their website. Thanks in advance.

You said it would be a spa cabin on the Carnival cruise, but would it be an inside, a balcony, etc? If it's a balcony (which would make it comparable to the Royal cruise), then the Carnival cruise has the added advantage of having the spa pass which is worth more than the $175 OBC you are getting from Royal. Also, what are the itineraries for each? For me, itinerary would be the most important factor, but how much does itinerary matter to you?

It is a balcony spa cabin. Both are similar itineraries, Arbua, Bonaire, etc.
Returned from Dec. 10th Conquest
