We will be sailing on Ryndam on 5th September. Our last cruise was Celebrity Infinity in May which was also reported to have had noro problems in previous cruises but we had no problems. As a previous poster had said this a risk in any community.

Well said Globaliser.

Thank you for your prompt replies

We have booked our first cruise with HAL and have a flexible dining package. Does anyone know if Is it possible to prebook times on line before we sail as it Is with Celebrity please? I can't see any options on the website.
Thanks.

Maybe check if you can pre-book seats. If we can book early enough and get a deal we travel 1st class where luggage space seems to be more and easier to keep an eye on.
-
If you book on line strongly advise that you speak to Celebrity as Itineraries have not been fully changed in the website

Sushi was served every evening in the buffet around 5.30 /6pm when we were on Infinity last month.
-
Although Celebrity have changed the itineries of a number of cruises to include overnights they have not changed their website. This means that they are still selling cruises based on itineraries that are now inaccurate.

You need to get a tube to Tower Hill

We ate at Tracey's a couple of weeks ago. Not a restaurant more a picnic area. Food good but we thought very expensive.

We used Harv and Marv a couple of weeks ago. Brilliant!!

Just back from Alaska.
We did a Harv and Marv whale watching trip from Juneau which was amazing. Small boat containing 5 of us ( 2 parties) and we saw numerous whales and included a visit to Mendenhall on way back.
In Skagway we used Chilkoot Charters and Tours and went into Yukon by bus and back on the train - again great and saw bears from the train.
In Ketchikan we visited Saxman which was very interesting. Only took a couple of hours and then wandered the shops.

Thanks everyone.

we are flying into San Francisco on 23 May and staying at the Best Western plus the Tuscan. Can anyone advise on the best way to get to the hotel please?
We don't want to use public transport and are currently considering a taxi unless we can identify something else.
Thanks in anticipation.

We visited Bay of Islands on Solstice in November 2014. We left the ship on one of the early tenders with no difficulties. We think we had to get tender tickets but can't remember for sure.
Basically we were off early, got shuttle to Pahia and then ferry to Russell arriving about 9.15 am before most places were open and with no problems.

We stayed at the Harbour Grand in Kowloon. Stunning hotel. Be sure to book a harbour view club room.
-
We stayed at the Sky City which was about 10 minutes by taxi from the pier. Excellent hotel and used by lots of other cruisers.
-
We flew Cathay Pacific premium economy from the UK to Australia and back last year and thought it was very good.
-
We stayed at Sky City Grand which was very comfortable and is a short taxi ride to the pier. Seems popular with cruisers. We did walk down a couple of times without luggage but decided taxi easier with bags.
The Hilton is on the pier - so close that we could see into the rooms from our balcony.

I wouldn't bother with the ships tour either. We got an early tender to Waitanga and then used the free shuttle bus to Paiia. We then bought ferry tickets to Russell and explored on our own. Russell is small and there are decent tourist information offices in Russell and near where the shuttle bus dropped us off.
On our way back the shuttle bus dropped us at the treaty ground which is very close to where the tenders drop off. All very easy to do on your own

We did the ships transfer which took almost 2 hours each way. I think the point about using ships transfers is well made as our ship was delayed by 45 minutes as one of the tours was late back.

We stayed in the Harbour Grand Kowloon for 3 nights last month. We had a Harbour View Club roon. The hotel was amazing and we would definitely stay again if we visit Hong Kong.

We were in Akaroa last week and booked the a Celebrity excursion to Christchurch. Akaroa itself and surrounding area is beautiful but we spent almost 5 hours on a coach so didn't get chance to explore.
One of the Celebrity excursions was very late back which delayed sailing by almost 1 hour.

The beaches are not great in my view in Sorrento more lots of bathing platforms.
Ensure you take all documentation re: OBC

Celebrity are giving us $350 on board credit after messing up our booking but 6 weeks later this has still not been credited to our account despite me chasing this up. I think it's a good idea to take any evidence on board with you.
