  1. To make our luggage tags a bit sturdier I cover it with peel and stick laminate at home and use a paper punch to put a hole at the ends then use a small zip tie to attach it to our luggage handle prior to handing our luggage over.

We just purchased the FTTF and printed our boarding passes. The boarding pass has a FTTF logo on it and the luggage tags are also marked. I don't mind not getting my luggage til later in the day but to be able to get on the ship earlier and take advantage of the first cruise day is important to me. Priority boarding with Carnival requires more cruises then Princess, which we already have.

  2. We have rented cabanas with Carnival and Princess - they operate differently and I can't remember which offers what - Does Princess assign you a cabana or do you go to the tour desk when you get onboard to select the one you want? Is it Carnival or Princess that provides soda, chips, salsa, guacamole, fruit platter and veggie platter? I reserved for our Ruby cruise in a few weeks - can't wait!

  3. We haven't missed but have seen people that have..... I don't think it's as easy as 'catching the next ship' - I think your cruise is just missed. If you have a direct flight you will probably be okay but the way our flights have gone lately, we've had to RUN to the next gate (even with an hour and a half scheduled between flights) and get to the gate as the plane was boarding.

Be sure you keep the phone number of the cruiseline with you so you can call if there is a problem.... they may wait.

  4. I bought a 6 pack of the empty, clear glass ornaments and put a small amount of sand in them from Seven Mile Beach. Bought a package of small seashells at Michael's craft stores to add to the sand and used a gold highlighter to write the name of the beach and the year on the outside of the glass. They made nice gifts and a nice decoration for our Christmas tree. I didnt realize either that you weren't 'allowed' to being the sand home. Guess I'll be wearing oversized shoes to the beach this summer!

  5. Last spring we booked (on RCCL) the city tour of Los Angeles. We were the first group off the ship and through customs, picked up our luggage and took it out to the bus where it was loaded and we didn't have to worry about it again until we got to the airport, when they dropped us off at our airline. It was about a 3 hour tour, we had a great time - in fact it inspired us to take a land vacation last summer in L.A. Anyway, it was a fun way to spend the time between disembarkation and our flight. Someone from our group was staying in LA longer, they dropped them off at a location at the airport where they could get a cab back to their hotel. Don't know if this helps you or not but this was our experience.
