  1. We are frequent visitors to Cabo. Whales are plentiful from December through February. There may be some as early as November, some late ones through the first few weeks of March. There will be many whale watching tours sold at the pier. We like the catamarans such as Pez Gato. They are small enough to manuever quickly but yet large enough to feel safe. The larger boats are very slow and not able to quickly move to the site when whales are spotted. The small motorboats get dangerously close. There seems to be no rules preventing boats from harassing the whales, so these little boats try to give their passengers a thrill by approaching really close.

Another activity we like is sea kayaking. Rentals can be found all along Medano Beach. We kayak out towards Lovers Beach and can pull it out of the water to enjoy the beach for a while before heading back. A less strenuous way is to get on a water taxi over to Lovers Beach. There will be plenty of them available to take you back.

Coach Jeff - the Pacific waters are much cooler than the Caribbean, plus much rougher. I don't know where they can take you on a helmet dive where you can actually see anything. The area is not good for snorkeling either, although there are some bays between Cabo and San Jose where we have seen snorkelers.
