Just booked Johnny Cab for our POA Cruise in 2 weeks.

$25  for 2 people from HNL to Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort

 $25 from POA pier to HNL

We prepaid and they were very prompt with emails to our questions.

NCL was going to charge us $50 from Pier to HNL,  Plus we get to have a private taxi at our designated time....we don't have to sit and wait for the bus to fill up.

NO....the hotel is your choice.  Also,  NCL will automatically charge you for the transfers if  you choose their free or reduced airfare.  You do not have to take them.....as long as you call and tell them to remove them from your reservation.

We took the free air from SFO for next month.  After waiting what seemed forever, we are really happy with the results.  We are flying United non stop both directions.

1:00p HNL - 8:09p SFO

It was really frustrating waiting till 38  days out for them to ticket us.  We were able to upgrade on United to United Plus for more legroom. When we booked with Premium Air, they told me that they usually will fly you non-stop from the West coast.  But, obviously, that's not always the case. I would check Expedia to see what flights are available from the airport you want to fly from.  I don't know if we would do this again.......!!!!

We are using the Free Flight Promo.   Our EDocs were available at 121 days.  At 38  days,when we were finally ticketed, they had the the air info added to it.  During the interim, we were able to see all the reservations we had made for the cruise......excursions and speciality dining.   I'd give them a call.

 We finally got our seats at 38 days out.  Originally told 60....then 50....then 40-45.  We are flying on United non stop SFO to HNL.  United let us upgrade to United Plus  (extra legroom) for no additional charge.  I didn't ask why......I think it's because we have miles with their frequent flier program.   I tried to upgrade to First Class.....no go !!  We happen to be on the same flights that they called the "placeholders" from months ago.  We would have picked the same flights if we paid ourselves.  After following the many posts about this, we are very lucky with the flights that NCL finally ticketed for us.    Yes, we saved almost $1000 for the 2 of us.  But the waiting and waiting was really hard, not knowing what  we would end up with.  Don't know if we would do it again.

We were on the Star last September in a mid ship Mini Suite on deck  11.  I'm sorry I don't remember the exact stateroom number.   Yes....there is alot of noise from the moving of chairs in  the buffet right above you. It starts very early in the morning and continues throughout the day into the evening.   Some days, we couldn't sit on the balcony because the noise of the chairs was too loud to even have a conversation.    We met a couple who were in mini suite but towards the front of the ship.....with no buffet above them.....and they said they had no noise at all.   Honestly, the mini suite was nice, but we would never book a stateroom again that didn't have other rooms above it.

How many days out when you were ticketed-

2 year ago we were on RCCL out of San Juan. When we disembarked, we did self walk off along with a few hundred other people.  The line at customs took about 20 minutes (about 100 people before us),  We hopped in a taxi to the airport.  There was an accident on the road, so it took longer than expected.  The airport (at about 9a) was a zoo.  Luckily we were flying Seaborne to St. Thomas and that counter had no line.  But the line for TSA was huge, even with us having TSA PreCheck.  The person before my husband had to have her carry on checked which then added more time to getting to the gate. You never know what will go wrong.   I can't remember where I read it, but somewhere on the NCL website, they say don't book a flight less than 6 hours after the ship gets to your final port.

Our placeholders have been there and  have not changed since we booked the cruise last November.  We are at 57 days out and nothing !!   i called Premium Air this morning   I got a really nice guy, who told me that they used to give out the flight info at 60 days......now it's 30-40 days out!!!!  Needless to say, I wasn't happy when I hung up!! 

I will keep checking my EDocs throughout the day.....every day !

Just want to be able to upgrade to Economy Plus with more legroom for our 5 hour flight from SFO to HNL

Today we are at 60 days......waiting for airfare info.  I called the Premium Air the other day and asked about it.  They told me at 50 days, they will call the airlines and negotiate our tickets.  WHAT?????? When I told them that I was told that I would get the info at 60 days....they said "Who told you that?"   Guess, I'm still waiting !!!!  I've been following this topic for months....doesn't appear that the info will be available even at 50 days.!!

His Combination Hilo and Volcano Nat'l Park tour is great.   He operates a clean 12 passenger van and picks you up right at the pier.  We took it last time we were in Hilo and plan to take the tour again in November.

I was curious to know what airline geneticfreak was on that allowed him to upgrade to first class.  I am pretty sure we will be on United......just waiting for the flight info to come through. Didn't think an upgrade to first class was available.

What airlines did you fly?  I was told that you couldn't upgrade to first class.....only economy plus.

What......no hair curlers allowed?   I was planning on bringing a flat iron for my hair (not clothes).  Will they take it?  Should I pack it in my carry on?

It isn't just how many days in advance you get the airfare, it's that you may not have time to change anything before ticketing is finalized.  As in our case and checking for edoc air listing several times a day, they were updated and our flights ticketed within 7 hours from when i last checked.  And they were ticketed immediately and NCL said we could change anything..

It was my understanding from the Premium Air department, and alot of posts, that once you get you air info, you can call the airlines and try to change seats, or upgrade to Economy Plus, dealing now directly with the airline.   Once NCL sends you the info, then it (I think) means that the tickets were paid for and ticketed, and finalized. 

How many days out did you get your info?

Unfortunately, it looks like I'll be flying outbound separate from the two I'm traveling with, they're in another cabin on a separate booking but flying from the same city (guess one of the flights didn't have 3 empty seats?).  Good thing we're all adults....

You won't get your Edocs until you complete your check in.  Edocs are usually available at 120 days out.  Except your airline info won't be on your first Edocs till NCL pays for your tickets.  After reading a ton of posts on this topic, it seems that the airline info will appear on your Edocs anywhere from 60 days to 30 days out.  We are at 85 days right now, and I still check every day.  It's pretty frustrating, but free airfare from SFO to HNL makes me not as crazy as I thought I would be!

Interesting.....our invoice showed an additional charge for the transportation returning to the airport, until I called my PCC and had them remove it.  Wonder if its included now?

The transportation to and from the airport is an additional fee....not included in the airfare perk  .  You can tell NCL to take it off your reservation and make your own transportation, one way or both ways.  Yes, if you deviate either way, the transportation is not included in that direction.
