Yes....sailed on her last Sept to the Greek Isles.

We are planning on leaving this Sunday from Venice for this cruise. I’ve done a ton of research and unless you are in a Haven room or have an NCL excursion you have to wait on line. Everyone wants to get off early. I’ve read that people get in line an hour before the line opens and they still don’t get an early tender. It’s not good!!

As for the upgrade you will get an email (I think) at 80 days out with your offer. I’ve read that they could let you know up to 3 days before you sail.

Just off the Star yesterday in Venice, working on a review now. We docked around 7AM, and were off at 8:05AM (we picked the #1 luggage tags, which had the earliest time of 8:10am, but they started early). Our flight was at 12:45pm, and we were at the airport by 9:30am (used public transit from the bus station to the airport, on the 9am bus).

Were you scheduled to arrive at 7a? Ours is scheduled to arrive at 8a. We have 9:45 taxi pick up scheduled at the pier. Not sure what time to disembark. I guess we should try to get an early luggage tag. Are the early tags hard to get?

Interesting. Our final pay date was still 90 days out. But dining reservations was 120 days out. Sailing next Sunday on the Star from Venice.

Thanks everyone but we have a scheduled taxi to take us to the Mestre train station. Also not wanting to drag luggage to the People Mover. . So do you think the 9:00 tag will be enough time to make our 9:45 taxi ?! Or do we need to get an earlier one??

For those of you who have recently cruised the Greek Isles from Venice, if the ship docks at 8 what time could you disembark? When and where do they start giving out the colored tags for the different times??

I don’t know which hotel NCL uses, but the Hilton Hawaiian Village is on the beach. It also has its own lagoon. We stayed there a few years ago before our POA cruise.

Reading their calendar I see NCL Star docking on August 28 and September 25.

We haven’t cruised NCL in a few years. If I remember correctly you are given color tags to place on your luggage that will tell you what time you disembark. How do we get the tags we need to guarantee us getting off the ship at a particular time?? We are catching a train to Rome and don’t want to miss it.

If you want a wonderful beach day, we went to the Carambola Beach Club on St Friar’s beach last year. It was $30 to reserve 2 chairs and 1 umbrella. We took a taxi from the pier for $16. Check it out online. You can also reserve it online.

We are on the Sept 9 sailing also. We had planned to do Santorini on our own considering the time in port 2p-10p. We figured if we took an NCL excursion we would be in the dark for part of the tour. But these comments make us wonder maybe we should reconsider the port and see what NCL offers just to be able to get off the ship at a reasonable time. Not happy !!! We have not read about these problems in other ports that we have to tender into.

We’re at 59 days also.
