  1. Hello everyone. I thought I would give you a different cruise report.

I am currently in Cork Ireland, which due to a snow storm all flights have been cancelled. Until Saturday at the earliest. My MSC Seaside cruise leaves this Saturday. This is a B2B cruise. My travel companion doesn't live in Ireland so will have no problem reaching the cruise. (though she is 68, so am worried about her travelling by herself)

My flight should have left at 8pm last night.

I am currently standing in the airport queue to see if I will be able to change my flights.

I have accepted that I won't make it for the cruise on Saturday. At least my companion will be on board. Due to the weather my travel agent is closed. So I will try calling MSC on Saturday on how I will board the ship.

As it is a back 2 back I am thinking I will probably have to board next Saturday. Has anything similar happened to any of you? Where weather caused you to miss first leg of the trip?

On the positive side I will have some days to relax in Miami. I will also have a lighter case as I won't need as many clothes [emoji2]

Also the airline comped me for last nights hotel and I now have a voucher for food.

My biggest concern is my travel companion being by herself. She's never travelled so far without me.

I will continue to update you on this unusual situation.

Cam you meet the ship at it's next port?

  2. I think having the trays available does make it a bit easier to cart your food from buffet to table with minimal trips. Especially when you have plates for the littlest ones in your party

  3. Boy this topic again. Cracks me up. Some of you should scrape your pennies together and just cruise Regency or some other luxury line if you want to wear your tuxedos and fancy-smancy dresses every night. Each person is going to have his or her own perception of what "formal" is dependent on their personal lifestyle and background. The dress code is a guideline. Unless Carnival starts handing out uniforms before dinner, people are never going to be "On the same page" in terms of what they wear....and who wants to be?? As long as you are clean and don't smell (hygiene issues) you should be fine. As mentioned by others, I am too involved with my family to be involved with what you are wearing. My 2 cents

  4. Hi actually I think it's only the San Luis resort next door that is owned by Landry's. At least that was my understanding when we stayed there last July. The elevators tend to have a mind of their own (or so it seemed) stopping on floors we had not selected. The rooms are mediocre and a bit old. We had a balcony that faced the pool. It was nice. There's a grocery store in walking distance and a few good restaurants (rainforest cafe, IHOP right next door).

  5. Thanks Thorncroft. I appreciate the assistance. We are celebrating a few birthdays, completion of my doctorate, and our 23rd wedding anniversary. So of course, gonna ask about some freebies😊 and confirm our early dining request that is still waitlisted.

  6. Send your requested via his FB page a day or two before you sail. Be sure to include your name, ship, cabin # and sailing date. If he's not available, he has a few "helpers" who will hopefully see your request and forward it on to the proper channels. If you're sailing on Dream, don't hold your breath. It's the most likely ship to not get your requests.

Do you include your sailing/booking number? Can everyone see it?

  7. Thanks for the feedback. I will have to just keep checking daily and hopefully snag a second one. The pvp said people will sometimes cancel, etc and more may open up. Which I know from previous bookings...just frustrating. Worst case we at least one.

  8. Has anyone cruised with 1 FTTF but 2 rooms. So far, I have only been able to book 1 FTTF. I'm worried I won't be able to get a second one for our July 29 sailing on the Vista. If you have done this how did it work out for you? Thanks
