  1. Hi, what movies where they playing on your sailing? We'll be on the breeze August 21st.

I will post the complete list. On deck they did play Deadpool (12 am showing), Spectre (James Bond), The Martian, Zootopia, Creed.

  2. I'm interested in kids club detail! Did you try thrill theater? Favorite dining venue? I want to try breeze but still working on convincing the family!!

My kids absolutely love the clubs. I traveled with my 7,12, 16, 19, yo sons and 18 yo nephew (graduation gift cruise). My 7 yo didn't want to go but each time I dropped him off and picked him up later he'd say he had a blast. I barely saw my 12 and 16 yo as they spent a lot of time at club activities and just "hanging out" in the club until early hours. My 19 yo and my nephew loved being able to frequent the adult nightclub Liquid although they could not drink.

  3. Also wondering after check in at 1030 how long did you have to wait to board the Breeze and what time was your room available.

After check in the line moved really quickly. They stopped boarding for a brief moment (no reason given). But once they started boarding again, it progressed quickly. our rooms were ready as soon as we boarded. Luggage showed up around around 1:30 or so.

  4. My wife and I are flying in to Hobby/Hou on a Saturday and taking a family owned shuttle service to out Galveston Hotel. Sunday morning we will need a ride to the Port because its 3 miles away and the hotel doesn't have a shuttle.

Anyone have any specifics as to what is the best way to get to the Port? I have read that Uber is not allowed in Galveston. Is this true? What about Lyft?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend Kent with Galveston Taxi. 409.497.5117

  5. Looks like Moody Gardens is unavailable for the Sept 10 stay.

Any ideas? I tried the Holiday Inn Express and it was pretty bad.

The Hilton Galveston is also a great option. They offer a free of charge shuttle to the port. I think the parking for the cruise is free, but I can't be sure as we didn't have a car but we're asked if we needed the parking.

  6. Is it really any different than how restaurants pay their waitstaff? Certainly people are stiffing waiters and waitresses in US restaurants, are they?

Not sure Rh2458. I like to put cash in hand when I tip which I know makes it a bit unfortunate for those behind the scene. But like here in Vegas, its usually up to the bartender to tip out to the bar back, etc.

  7. I am sailing the CARNIVAL BREEZE Aug 28. Looking forward to being on holiday. How was the cabin temperature? Do I need to take a fan? I am on deck 7, midship.

What about food in the MDR? I keep reading negative things about the American Table. Did you dine in the steakhouse? Do the Chef's Table?

Did you take in the shows in the show room? Comments?

Did you go to the Piano Bar? Good entertainer?

Thanking you in advance for your comments,

Hi there...if you have a portable fan I would bring it. Like I mentioned our room was a bit warm compared to what I am used to at home. To me the MDR food was decent. We didn't do the chefs table so I have no comment there. I enjoyed Easy Breezy's 80's review and their nightly performances. Also Consuela was really good in the Ovation theatre.

  8. What was your itinerary?

If it was Montego Bay/Cayman/Coz did you happen to save your Fun Times?

I go in Jan with a my family of 6, niece, and my parents. What's the perfect spot on the ship? My daughter wants to do a video for her youtube channel. Can you think of any neat little "cubbies" to film in front of with a zillion people walking through the shot?

Hi! Our itinerary was Cozumel, Belize and Isla Roatan. I think the best spot is on the 11th deck on the sofa seating. From there you can look down on the Lido deck and it's the perfect area for viewing a movie. I would shoot in either the Lido Marketplace or over by the Red Frog pub on a sea day...lots and lots of people for her shot...happy cruising!!

  9. Agreed. Hopefully that day will come when they just jack up the price and make the gratuities part of the fare. Of course cruise critic would lose this heated subject that gets debated once a month but they'll survive. [emoji51]

Or maybe Carnival will stop paying third world wages

  10. Thanks for the feedback guys...we found Kent who has acted as somewhat as a personal driver for us doing our stay here. Very reasonable and we have been able to call him direct for pickups and drop-offs. He is an independent contractor with Yellow Cab but each ride is like a mini island tour. We have him booked for drop off back to IAH after the cruise as well. For those in my situation look him up at GalvestonTaxiKent on Facebook or 409.497.5117. Happy sailing!!!

  11. Any "recent" users of Galveston Express?

Between Yelp & Trip Advisor, it appears there are very mixed reviews, even recently. We still do not have a shuttle from IAH to Galveston in Sept.

    Please help!

Use Kent at GalvestonTaxiKent on Facebook. He is an independent contractor with Yellow Cab with very competitive rates. We basically used him as our personal driver while in Galveston for 4 days. Let me know if you would like his direct number or visit his Facebook page.

  12. Well after trying to figure out our in-town travel in Galveston we found Kent...he is perfect...he is an independent contractor with Yellow Cab..what's great about him is that you can call him directly and he will pick you up and take you wherever you need to go whether it's 2 minutes up the street or further. He is also very knowledgeable about Galveston and every ride is like a mini tour. If you're in a jam getting from point A to B while in Galveston I recommend him. You can book transportation directly to and from Hobby and Bush International at his site GalvestonTaxiKent on Facebook or call direct at 409.497.5117. Happy sailing.

  13. Hello everybody, we are in Galveston for a few days before we cruise Sunday on the Breeze. Whats the best way to get around down here??? We didn't get a rental car and the trolley was disabled during hurricane Ike. We are staying on the Seawall side. Thanks in advance for suggestions/help.

  14. Never have gotten anything from him. The fact that I can call him anytime day or night is enough. He even gave me his cell phone number in case of emergencies. I have called him as late as 11pm thinking I would just leave a voicemail. To my surprise he answered and took care of my issue. Even on holidays or Sundays (caught him in the middle of yard work one time).

That kind of service is priceless.

Same here firemanbobswife. I've never needed a call from an upgrade fairy because he has always been on top of it.
