I almost always give an extra $1 per drink, It makes the bartender/waiters remember you and get prompt service.

Here's a little example of how i think tipping that extra $1 helps.  A couple days into the cruise, Schooner was pretty crowded and i saw a couple setting at a table with a couple empty chairs.  So i asked if we could share their table, the lady said yes but if you want something to drink you'll have to go to the bar, saying they were slow.   We just smiled and said okay, a minute later our drinks were delivered, the lady had this shocked look on her face.  We had actually ran into one of the waiters we had before when we first walked into the bar.  He took our order and said go ahead and find a seat and I'll find you.

Exactly! We have "skipped" the line so many times by tipping extra. They just arrive with your usual before you can even order. I usually bring about $50 in ones and get above and beyond service.

Wow thanks all. You made the decision very easy! If I just buy a another 3  night SDP whatever restaurant I want to go to for those 3 nights will be covered- do I have that right? For instance if I want to go to Le Bistro 2 of the 6 nights they will be covered with the SDP? (And we're just ordering one main course/nothing extra).

Thanks once again for your help.:)

Yup. We have done multiple nights at the same place many nights. I could eat at Le Bistro every night.

Two parties redeemed BofA Visa reward points for OBC which we were able to access and use via the Cruise Planner to buy a soda pkg, a refreshment pkg, an internet pkg, and make Rubicon reservations ahead of time. Once available, we also reserved all of our main entertainment through the Cruise Planner. I completed the online check-in process for all 7 of us, though the system lost mine twice and it had to be redone. Remaining OBC was then transferred to our on board accounts.

Thank you! I was trying to find out if you could use it before the cruise. Yay!

I leave for my Conquest Cruise in 3 weeks. I just received an email that says you receive a free bottle of wine on the first or SECOND night of the cruise if you dine in the steakhouse.

Can someone confirm that you now receive it on the second night as well? I thought it was only on the first.

Just double check. It is first night and first formal. On our Sunrise cruise this summer we ended up with the 1st formal being night 3. Even the staff didn't know why they did that. No problems in changing our reservation.

I recommend half price wine and getting Caymus for $45 which is cheaper than you can get at home. It is amazing.

I totally agree with you!  I always eat at the steakhouse as I have never had a bad meal.  And like you said where in the US can you get USDA Prime meat with all the extras for $38?  That meal alone would be at least $100 in Dallas.  And if you go on the first night you also get a free bottle of wine.  I know a lot of people complain about the quality of the wine but to me it was drinkable and hey it was free.

We have it booked the first two nights because the free wine can be traded for half priced wine. I get dinner and a bottle of Caymus for cheaper than I canbuy the bottle of Caymus at home for.

Also the oysters. There is no words for them. I dream of them nightly lol

I thought Cellar Masters was being turned into the Gastro  Pub, at least on the Summit.  With that being said, if they do away with Cellar Masters, will they continue with the wine tastings events?  I always looked forward to it on the first sea day.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! That is my favorite place on the Summit.

Cheers!  After doing a search for “how to plan a pub crawl” I came up short!  I’ve actually never participated in one, and Im trying to gather information for a TA cruise this spring.  With 7 sea days our roll call is looking for a few fun activities to fill our days.  I’d appreciate input from anyone who has planned a pub crawl or participated in one!  We will be sailing on NCL’s Jade.

    Thanks!

I made a google slide to print out as a punch card for my Escape cruise. If you are interested give me your email and I will make you a copy that you can change for the Jade.

  8. I prefer the summit (5 years in a row)  to mega ships (although we are taking the Escape in February). Both my parents and my BFs parents both enjoyed the more relaxed atmosphere of the summit.  It’s $10 a day to upgrade to premium on celebrity to get the better beverage package.
