  1. Wow, I see you have about 50 posts in the last hour. Umm, trying to get your post count up ???
  2. Awesome thread to be still relevant after 1 1/2 years. And yes, we did the same itinerary and agree it was among the best cruises we have done.
  3. This thread is over a year and a half old, but still relevant. We did this same cruise and used all the info to create an awesome cruise!!!!
  4. Wow, I thought I wrote this at first. Describes my situation almost exactly - except, insert 40 years as a Surgical RN. House and cars paid off, kids grown and gone, maxing out the 403B, 5 weeks vacation, spoiling 4 grand-kids - yep that's me, too! Three cruises coming up this year.
  5. Hi, Liz! Thanks for the "shout out". Everything is fine in Midland. We are in a huge oil boom and lots of folks have migrated here. Lowest unemployment rate in the state, if not the nation. It has been the worst drought in the last couple of years, but we received a huge amount of rain in September. I hope Glenna and I run into you, as we sail Brilliance May 27th. We are flying into London a couple of days early and then take the train to Harwich on May 27th. You will probably already be heading back to London, by then.
  6. That is possible. Perhaps our sailing dropped later than yours, since it is May 27th. We booked back in July and this was the first price drop on our sailing.
  7. Yes, very sure. What don't you "get"? We booked an E1 for over $5500 (12-night Baltic cruise) - the price dropped to $4300 - we get $1200 back, but had a balanced owed of $1000 - they are refunding the difference of approx. $220. (Final payment date is not until March - thus refund, upgrade is available.)PS - The price drops are still there today on D1,D2, E1, E2, and E3.
  8. It really pays to watch for price drops. Our E1 balcony dropped over $1200 today. We owed $1000, so the cruise is paid off and RCI will credit us $220 to our credit card. We could have upgraded to D1 for about $200, but stayed put on deck 8 hump. Keep watching, as balcony guarantees are sometimes even lower priced.
  9. Loved the review! We are doing this exact itinerary in 3 weeks. Looking forward to it!
  10. We already have a well-established roll call for you cruise here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1394757 And, not to burst your bubble, the Cinque Terre region is in disrepair.
  11. We are on the sept 2nd Brilliance 12-night out of Barcelona. We booked the Casa Camper about a year ago. I hope you find something reasonable at this late date. Seriously, to get a good rate and a good location, one needs to start looking much farther out. Have you checked your roll call for ideas? 12. Yes, waiting for the Paul McCartney story. As a 10 year old in 1964 I pretty-much grew up as a Beatles fan. I finally got to see my hero in 2005 in Vegas. I felt like a 10-year old girl - LOL. Still my favorite concert to date - and I have seen almost all the greats! Eagles, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Steve Winwood, Heart, Guess Who, James Gang, Styxx, Sammy Hagar, Grass Roots, Steppenwolf, ZZ Top, etc, etc, etc. Paul McCartney blew them ALL AWAY!!!!
  13. Wel, it is exclusively Royal Caribbean for us - Diamond Plus. (See signature)
