  1. Hi Everyone! I'm hoping some Houston area locals may be able to help me out with this. My kids and I will be sailing out of Galveston in August. However, we are flying into Houston four days prior to our sail date. So, we will not be able to test at home since we leave 4 days before we sail. We will have to get our COVID tests sometime after we arrive in Houston. Below are our plans for each day. Can you please let me know where you'd suggest we go for our COVID tests, and whether or not appointments will be necessary? Day 1 - early evening arrival at HOU. Staying near NASA. Day 2 - 1:10pm Astros game. Will be in and around the area of Minute Maid park before and after the game. No other plans for the day. Day 3 - Visit the NASA center in morning/afternoon. Then get transportation to Galveston, staying near Seawall. Evening sightseeing/dinner in Galveston Day 4 - Tour/Sightseeing in Galveston (on our own - nothing organized) Day 5 - Board ship So knowing where we will be in the area and when, may I please ask for some suggestions on the best place to go for our pre-boarding COVID tests? Thank you so much for any advice you can offer 🙂
  2. Hi everyone! My kids and I will be sailing in August. The photos taken on the ship are important to me. We will have a lot of them taken, and my social anxiety prevents me from asking random people on the ship to take our photo. I am in so very few photos with my kids, that this is a rare opportunity for us to be in photos together. So, again, we WILL be purchasing the ship photos. With that said, am I better off purchasing a package in advance? Or do they typically do "flash sales" on the last day(s) of the cruise? If so, are those sales typically any good? Any insight you can offer would be much appreciated! Thanks!
  3. Hey everyone! I’ll be sailing in August with my two boys, 9 and 10. We are hitting Roatan, Costs Maya, and Cozumel. We have a tour booked for Roatan already, so now I’m thinking about the other two. I’m kinda thinking I’d like one of them to just be a beach day (maybe something all inclusive with access to beach activities - even if they’re not included in the “all inclusive”), and do some kind of activity at the other port. for those who have done a similar itinerary, what do you recommend? Which port for the beach day, and which port for an activity? And any suggestions on activities? My kids are pretty adventurous, and they love thrills. We’ve already parasailed, so I’m ruling that out. I also don’t want any water parks. But maybe some kind of fun boat ride/tour? Perhaps one that also includes snorkeling? please spam me with any input or suggestions you may have! Thank you 😊
  4. I actually found a lot of great options on VRBO and just booked something there. It's a condo on the beach and has several restaurants within walking distance. It will be an uber ride to get to the Pleasure pier, which my kids definitely want to hit up - but it's only about a 2 mile distance. The place has a pool and hot tub and bunk beds for my boys. And it was less than $500 total for 2 nights (a Friday and Saturday night, to boot!). I definitely suggest looking on VRBO - lots of affordable condo and beach house rentals available. All with good reviews, too! 🙂
  5. Hi all - I’ve searched, but haven’t found exactly what I’m looking for. I’m traveling with my two sons, 9 & 10. We plan to spend two nights pre-cruise IN Galveston (many people keep suggesting that I check areas 30+ minutes outside of Galveston). We won’t have a car, so we’d like to be relatively close to some fun things for the family (even if you don’t have suggestions for specific places to stay, I’d love suggestions on the general area to stay in so that my boys and I can walk to the fun or take a short Uber ride to the fun!). I’m looking for something that’s a good bargain. And by bargain, I don’t necessarily mean “cheap.” I mean a decent place at a fair price. We won’t spend much time at the hotel, so I just need for it to be safe with comfortable beds 🙂 I don’t need luxury! I’m open to hotels or AirBnBs. Thank you in advance for any suggestions you may have to offer!
  6. Hi everyone! I am booked on the Jan 15, 2023 sailing on Explorer of the Seas. When I booked, the itinerary was Coco Cay, Falmouth, and Grand Cayman. It has since been updated to Labadee, Falmouth, and Nassau - which I'm really kind of bummed about! I'm not complaining. I know itineraries can change. I'm just curious...for those who are more experienced than me....do you know if itineraries ever change back? Like, is there ANY chance of getting either Coco Cay or Grand Cayman back? Also - how is Labadee? Does it compare at all to Coco Cay? I know they're both RC private islands, but I've only ever been to Coco Cay so I don't know what to expect now. Thanks for any insight you may have! Happy Cruising 🙂
