Thanks everyone that answered my question.  I haven't totally decided, but I think I may risk it.  I will be able to do the self debark, and will let them know I have an early flight.  How do you get a customs pre-check?  That sounds like a good idea.

What are your thoughts on a 10:45 am flight out of FLL after debarking at Port Everglades on January 25, 2020?  Do you think it will be doable?  We’re supposed to be back at 8:00. It seems like in the past we usually get back before daylight. 

When you pull up his FB page, scroll down a little bit and you will see "See Visitor Posts" click on that and that is where you will ask your question to John.  He really does respond to these daily, unless he is not on FB that day.  If you read his posts, he will usually say when he is not going to be available on the Visitor Posts.  But usually his assistant answers, and if it's something John needs to know about, she will let him know. 

Flymia - where is Berns steakhouse located? Do you know of any hotels close by?

Can you book a ride now for Jan 22, 2017, or do you just do it the day you need the ride? Haven't ever had any experience with either, but am thinking that will be the best way to get from POM to a beach hotel in Fort Lauderdale after our cruise.

At breakfast on lido, I like to get an omelet made to my liking, then get a croissant or bagel and make a sandwich, delicious!

One time they had a warm strawberry syrup for the pancakes and waffles, we used it to make a yummy strawberry sundae with the soft serve!!

Where is Mortons? We may want to try it if it's close to where we will be staying pre-cruise. We've ate at Millers Ale House several times, would like to try something new.

I just tried doing a google search for audio tours in San Juan. There's a few things that come up that you might find helpful. Looks like there was a walking tour that you could print off and do yourself???

I had been trying to decide what cruise I wanted to take next, and when JH announced Bloggers Cruise 8, it was on the Breeze and 2 ports were new to us, that is all I needed to decide --- Carnival Breeze here we come Jan. 31, 2015!!!! Looking forward to meeting John. Love his blogs!

Two years ago we were staying at Springhill Suites in FL one night precruise. When we arrived and was checking in the person could not find my reservation. How could that be? I had my confirmation printout and handed it to her, and guess what? It was for Jan 15 not Feb 15th!!!!!!!!!!

Needless to say I was a basketcase, luckily they found us a room (for more than double what I had reserved at). So that is why I now check, double check and triple check all my reservations!!:D

The one on the Breeze was right by the Blue Iguana Cantina, so I suppose you were supposed to use it on your burrito or tacos. But why wouldn't they keep chips out there to go along with the Mexican fare??? I put this on my survey after our cruise.

They use deck 5 of the Main Dining Room for MTD.

No irons or ironing boards on any RCI ships. Fire hazards. I use Wrinkle Release or you can have something pressed by the laundry service. Have fun.

That's a bummer. They have one of each floor on the Carnival ships I've been on. They actually have washers & dryers also.

We are using Super Shuttle to get us from Port Everglades to Palm Beach airport on Jan. 26th. It is a shared ride and the cost is $94 for 2. I have never done this before and have not used Super Shuttle, so I hope all goes well. Our flight is at noon.

We have used QLS for 4 years now. They have never given us anything but GREAT service! We will keep using them as the need arises.

I see that you've been to the Ale House twice. We will be in Dania Beach in May and was planning on going there. Do you have any recommendations of what is good to eat there?

Our group tried steaks, to sandwiches to seafood. We all thought everything was very good. They have a website that you can view their menu if you want to see ahead of time what they have.

Question for Royalcruz: We are staying at Springhill Suites in Dania Beach precruise - Feb. 15th. Have stayed there a couple of times but have never ventured out further than the mall across the street and ate at the Ale House each time. This time we would like to go over to Dania Beach for a while and find a different place to eat dinner that evening. We both don't care for seafood, but any other suggestions would be good. Is it feasible to walk to the beach from this hotel? Or would we need to take transportation and what is available? Our plane get in to FLL at 2:00 p.m. so we won't have a whole lot of daylight time to sight see, but would really like to go to the beach for a little while. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

We have stayed at this hotel the last two cruises and have it booked for our cruise 2-16-13. The rooms we had were like a small suite, separate room with couch, chair, sink,fridge, desk, then bed and bathroom. Room was clean, bed very comfortable. There was a good selection for breakfast, hot & cold. The pool area was nice, didn't swim as it was a little cool. Was given warm cookies and bottles of water at check-in. There is a shopping mall across a busy street with several fast food places, and across from the mall is a KMart. There's a Wendys (if I remember correctly) right next to the hotel. We haven't went any further than what we could walk in this area. I am hoping to maybe get down to Dania Beach in Feb. And check it out. We are arriving early afternoon. I booked this room on lastminutetravel this time and I think if was around $120. We will use the free shuttle from the airport and then will use QLS shuttle to get us down to POM. I think you will be more than happy with this hotel for a pre cruise stay!! Hope your family has a great cruise.

Well, I have read all 65 pages of All things LOS, and I have not seen this question asked. I would like to know if there is a magnifying mirror in the cabin bathrooms? We will be in cabin 6583, a Promenade inside. We had one of these mirrors last year on the Carnival Splendor. It was wonderful, for us "50 somethings" that have trouble seeing!!! I have really enjoyed reading everyones comments and reviews, keep them coming!! We leave Jan. 16th, and I'm already so excited!!:)
