JBare or anyone else,
How easy is it to catch a taxi outside of Terminal Alameda? Taxi stand or flagged from the road? Official taxis? Do they use meters or do we negotiate a price?
Thanks for your responses.

Thank you JBare. I am sure that we, and I mean all the people who have been waiting to hear back from someone with first hand experience, appreciate you taking the time to inform the rest of us how it all works. Onward and forward :)

Thank you JBare. Excellent review of how to get to and from San Antonio from Santiago. Also, thank you for the advice regarding the metro and luggage. We got caught doing that in Europe. Many stations had no escalators / elevators resulting in having to carry large suitcases up and down many flights of stairs. Not a major problem, but totally unexpected.
We will be travelling in the opposite direction. Santiago to San Antonio. In your opinion, will we need advance reservations for the bus? Is there a difference between bus companies? Did the tour people indicate the free transport between the bus terminal and the port will continue indefinitely?
Once again, thank you so much for your post.

Bumping again, hoping someone has first hand details :)

Hi. Just bumping this post up. Waiting for first hand experience.

Just keeping this alive hoping someone will eventually have detailed information:)

Get off the cruise ship, take a left when you get to the promenade, find one of several ferries that will take you to Klien Bonaire, decent drift snorkeling along the beach area. Nice white sand beach. No amenities, so bring snacks, water, etc. Very easy to do.

Awesome. I'm sure others will be interested in the information as well. Enjoy your trip.

Sounds easy enough. Will you be able to post your experience before March 2018? That's when we will be doing our cruise.

arthurstance,
Would you know if there is transportation to the ship from the port entrance? From the map, I think you walk to your right two to three blocks. Is this what you have found out as well?

Has anyone taken the bus from Santiago to San Antonio?
If so, what is the best way to get from the bus terminal to the cruise ship? Taxi, Walk?
Does the taxi take you right to the cruise ship or to the port entrance?
And if the port entrance, how does one then get to the ship?
Thanks for your answers.

From my research I believe it will be San Miguel Shopping Plaza.

Would you know the cost of a taxi to the main downtown area of Lima from the shopping malls?
-
Has anyone done Lima Peru from the cruise port on their own? If so, what did you use to get to the city etc. Please advise.
Thanks

Seeing that the majority of ships will be using San Antonio instead of Valparasio for both embarkation and debarkation, does anyone know how to get from Santiago to San Antonio by bus? I understand that there is a bus from the main terminal in Santiago (Tur bus) that goes to San Antonio. Can anyone verify this? Also, I have read somewhere that the bus terminal in San Antonio is only 4 blocks from the Port Entrance. Can anyone verify this as well and give directions from the bus terminal to the Port Entrance. Thanks in advance.

We took the metro to and from the cruise ship in Singapore. You have 3 to four stairs to negotiate at the Marina South Pier Station. Otherwise, there are escalators etc to get you around. Cost is about 2.50 SDG per person (machines only take coins and 5 and 10 dollar bills). Time it took to get from hotel to cruise ship was about 20 min (there was a wait for the train). From cruise ship to airport - 40 min to 60 min total. It was easy and comfortable. When you are at the Marina South Pier Station, it is about a 10 - 15 minute walk to the ship. All on flat ground, paved, and covered. Very easy to do if you do not have mobility issues.

No need for organized tours. Orient yourself with the Metro, ferry, and buses, and you will get around easily. If you insist, take a cab. Very inexpensive.

1. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of anyone missing the ship due to traffic issues from KL to Port Klang?
2. Does anyone have first hand knowledge of the cost of a taxi to and from KL from Port Klang?
3. Does anyone know the price charged by private taxis to tour KL from Port Klang? I have heard anywhere from US $100 to $150.
Thanks for the answers in advance.

In looking at the route and timetable for the Alilaguna waterbus, it shows that the waterbus does go to and from the Hilton Molino and the cruise ship terminal (Tronchetto stop). Can anyone confirm this as I was planning to simply hop off the cruise ship upon disembarking and hop onto a Alilaguna waterbus that would take us directly to the Hilton Molino.

Thanks for the info Relaxatsea. Do the official taxis have a distinct color, or identification on the outside of the cab?
