  1. Looking at either Carnival Glory, or Celebrity Reflection next March. Clueless about both lines; have taken 3 Disney cruises but no kids this time.

    Questions about Glory;

    how much would a drink package be for sodas for my husband, and water and iced tea for us both? I would have the occasional "boat drink" but not enough to include booze in the package. Is there a self-serve station?

    Does the adult only area on Glory have a pool? That's where we'd be spending most of our on deck time.

    How is the spa? I like the rainforest room type options.

    Is the suite upgrade worth it for early embarkation, etc?

    Any deals going on or on the horizon? I am talking to a TA soon. What is the refund policy? I'll be insuring through a third party company.

    Thanks for any help?

  2. I am looking at Reflection for one of my options for a cruise next March. Based on some reviews, I know people like to book the rooms on the bump. But when I look at rooms available online, the only bump rooms are on the sloping edges of the bump--not the straight part. Are those rooms just as good? What is a good deck that has rooms above and below?

  3. I really appreciate this thread. I never heard of Verizon rewards, and we have a business/personal verizon account where I imagine we could rack up rewards quickly. When you sign up you get 10000 points so I could get 10 of these cards for $900, even if I have to look for a while! Thanks!

  4. Thanks so much for the feedback! My husband says "do what you want" so I guess if I switch it's cool.

    Either way we sail from Fort Lauderdale or Miami, so already out of my comfort zone! I've done 3 cruises, all Disney--the Wonder in 03, the Magic in 04, and the Dream last month. It made us remember we love cruising! I do love Disney though, which is why paying for the double dip is Ok with me--we got a good rate with an onboard booking thing. And we love Castaway Cay but our day there last month got rained out.

    I am going to try to stop at a TA tomorrow and get (gasp) brochures--assuming they still make them LOL--for the two lines. I don't have to do this right away so I can do some research. I really am excited about new ports!

  5. I have two Disney cruises booked. However, I looked into other cruises to see what my options were for our March '17 4 night Dream. (no way I'm giving up my July '17 birthday Dream CC double dip).

    In March for $200 more I can get a 7 night Celebrity Reflection cruise (Cayman, Cozumel, Jamaica, Labadee) in a suite, or a 6 night RCCL Freedom of the Seas in a junior suite (Cayman, Cozumel, Puerto Costa Maya).

    We have been to Cayman in Cozumel, albeit in 2004. So two unknown ports on Reflection, one on RCL.

    So which would you all recommend for two 53 year olds, cruising without their (now adult) kids? We love water activities, don't drink much (maybe a couple of boat drinks for me), don't gamble. Love to relax on the verandah or somewhere on deck. Want a decent sized adult pool area. I'm also looking for a ship it is easy to learn about--part of the allure of the Disney ships is I know what I'm doing already. I would have to get used to new ways of dining, getting iced teas and sodas, etc. And this might be a pipe dream because my husband loves DCL and I don't know if he'll switch.

  6. Let me put it this way...I haven't been on a cruise since July of 2004. It was a Disney Magic 7 day. I still think about that brunch and booked another one for our Dream cruise March 28 as soon as I could!
