Thank you for the info about the cab! That seems very reasonable and much easier than trying to use the shuttle bus from the train station. Our hotel is close to the train station and our embarkation time is at 2 so we are hoping to do a little walking exploration of Hamburg in the morning before getting on the ship. Enjoy your cruise!! Yes. I filled that out a few months ago. I’m really just trying to figure out how I’m going to maintain my blood sugar and still enjoy traveling. I’m a planner, so these are the things I think about! 🙂

We leave in a month for our second MSC cruise. This time, we are going to Northern Europe. Last year I was footloose and fancy free in the Mediterranean on Splendida but this year… I have diabetes 🥺. I’m not on insulin and really have to be careful with what I’m eating. Pasta and potatoes are a no-go. I’m wondering if any of you have substituted things on the menu for dietary reasons? I hate eating in buffets so please don’t suggest that as my alternative. 🙂 Thanks for your help!

On Preziosa in October and needing to reserve our car /driver in Southampton. Last year, we had less luggage and just carried our own bags off the ship at the end of the cruise because we needed to catch a specific early train in Genoa. this time, we will have more luggage so we will put it outside the door the night before. About how long will it take for us to get our bags if our paperwork says to leave the ship at 7 am?

I’ve read that on many cruises the tap water is actually distilled water. Does anyone know if this is the case with MSC?

Headed on Preziosa in October and am in full research mode. I have some questions for those of you who have done these ports with MSC before: 1) Bruges - Can anyone tell me what the cost of the MSC shuttle is in Zeebrugge to get to Bruges? I am reading horrible reviews on Cruise Express and am thinking we will just do the Cruise bus but have no idea what the cost is. 2) Le Havre - We are going to go to the D-Day landing beaches. It's really important to us. At this point, I am thinking we are going to rent a car at the rental place right there at the port in LeHavre. Yes, I know it's not a short drive. On the Ireland MSC site, I saw an excursion to the British and Canadian landing beaches but not American. That excursion is not listed anymore. No D-Day landing excursions listed on the US site. I'd love any tips or suggestions if you've done this trip before. 3) It's looking like we can walk from the Copenhagen and Oslo ports. Is that true? Thanks, everyone! This will be our 2nd MSC cruise. Last year we were on Splendida for a Med cruise. Loved it.

We are on the Preziosa this October out of Hamburg. Last fall we were on Splendida from Genoa and enjoyed it very much. Here are some questions I have: 1) are these two ships pretty much similar in overall feel? 2) I just was diagnosed with diabetes… I filled out the online special needs form but am wondering if they’ll have the ability to provide low-carb options in the dining room (I’m not a fan of buffets:-) ) Anyone have experience with diabetes on MSC? 3) Anyone have tips on possibly getting a table for two for dinner? The people we sat with last year were fine, but our jobs are very people-oriented and we’d love to not feel like we needed to make small talk with strangers while on vacation. Thanks! Just booked our fall cruise! On the MSC website I can't seem to get info on the specialty dining venues on this ship. Would love it if someone could tell me about them and even better if they have info on pricing! We were on the Splendida last year but never did any specialty dining. Thanks!
