Did the proctored Abbot Binax tests this morning.  Was quite simple.  Set up account on on Navica first with your info then go to eMed site  to log on.  Results emailed quickly after 15 min timer ended.  There are a few Youtube videos which are helpful to watch first.  Just be sure it's the AG Test Card, the proctored one.

So you don't have to set up an appointment time to take the test?  Just scan the QR code on the box and follow the instructions?

Just an update about Maryland CVS Rapid Testing. It appears CVS in my Annapolis area are no longer scheduling Rapid test. They still schedule the PCR 1-2 day result notification. We have three Binax Now test kits that we will use, but also wanted a backup in case there are problems. I did find a few Clinics that will do Rapid testing with a 15 minute return of results, properly documented.

The very nice woman at the local clinic stated most drive thru Pharmacy stores are dropping Rapid Testing due to home testing availability . Keep in mind, this is for my area only. Don't know about CVS in other locations.

That might explain why our local CVS stores (Columbus, OH) don't have any rapid testing available all of a sudden.  It threw me for a loop so I ordered the proctored at-home tests from Optum today with express delivery for our May 6 cruise.

I usually use CVS but May not find rapid test availability so I checked Walgreens. They have the NAAT rapid test. I’ve read somewhere that it IS accepted by Celebrity, correct?

Thanks. I called Celebrity today and they told me it IS accepted.

I called Celebrity and the representative advised the regular rapid antigen test was acceptable.

We had our appointments with CVS for this morning cancelled on Wednesday.  We had backup appointments for this afternoon at Walgreens.  Took our test in the drive through at Walgreens and had the results back, both negative, in under an hour.

Which test did you take at Walgreens?  Rapid NAAT or Rapid Antigen?

Yes, we were tested there in December.  We made an appointment.  You need to enter FLL as both your departure and arrival destinations.  It was very easy and we got our results within the hour.  It may be busier now, but that was our experience at the time.  Because of the increase in cruisers, I would recommend the appointment in case they get too busy to accept more walk-ins.

That's good information to have in our back pocket.  Thank you!

We are sailing on Friday but flying down to FLL on Wednesday night.  We will test at Walgreens before we leave but will probably schedule a back up test at a CVS/Walgreens in FLL just in case.

The clue is in what you posted 'amount paid' less taxes and fees, so in your example (and using fictitious amounts), if you paid $3000 and $500 of that were taxes and fees, you'd get your $500 T&F back and your FCC  would be 125% of $2500 ($2500 + $500 = $3000).

The 'cruise fare' is what you paid, not the rack rate, which is basically a fictitious amount like the MSRP of qa car.

Thank you for the reply.  I understood that the FCC would not include what we paid in taxes.  When I referred to promotions, I meant the "sail now" savings of $400 that is often advertised.  But if I understand your position, the FCC is only based on what we actually paid, not the "brochure" rate.

    Thank you.

  5. Trying to decipher what exactly is meant by:

Your Future Cruise Credit (FCC) will be reflective of the cruise fare amount paid, less taxes & fees.

If our cruise fare was $5000 but we only paid $3000 due to promotions, do we get 125% of the $5000 or 125% of the $3000?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Get a Havana Balcony on Deck 5. We had #5239 which was last cabin before pool area.... Excellent location...so close to bar and pool area. Complete privacy on one side. Additionally you can enter your cabin from porch/balcony area (separate card) so it saves you alot of steps and you don't need to make the big circle by going through Havana Bar and entering cabin from Hallway. Loved the relaxful atmosphere and top notch pool/bar service. Doubt we will cruise again on any other Carnival ships which do not have this area.

So you can "lock" the balcony door on deck 5 and enter from the outside?

  7. We had the room closest to the pool #5239... It was awesome and saved a ton of steps being able to access room through slider door off porch instead of having to walk thru the bar and back down the hallway. You will love this area!! I was just saying the wife and I would walk over to the pool area more than stay on our balcony to enjoy the atmosphere and have our drinks. Plus the chairs on the cabana/porch are useless...only the swing is of any use. Whoever planned the outside seating on the porch's should be thrown overboard!!

Are you able to "lock" the balcony door and access from the outside?

  8. Did you not think you should have to tip?

I've heard people that don't get out of their house much actually ask if they were supposed to or not on our last cruise.

Takes the guesswork out. I can't even imagine a chef's table experience that didn't warrant at least 15%, so I wouldn't get my feathers ruffled over it, IMHO.

Exactly, I always added 20% so for me this is a discount.

Me too. I usually just rounded up to $100...which is still a deal if you ask me. :)

I was surprised when we didn't receive the check at the end of Chef's Table on my April cruise on the Pride and was told that they automatically just charged the S&S.

  9. I'm new to cruising on NCL. How do the dining packages work? If I buy a three meal package - are there are restrictions as to which restaurant I can eat a meal at? Or is it three meals at any specialty restaurant?

What is the on board price to eat at a specialty restaurant? I presume that there is a discount by pre-purchasing online?

    Thanks in advance!

  10. This was the info we received and what we paid for our visit in March:

The Day pass has a cost of $77.00 for adults and kids under the age of 12 pay half price $38.50. The day pass starts from 9:00a.m. up until 6:00p.m. and Includes food, all drinks and non-motorized watersports.

We did pay for it in advance, which worked out fine, but was odd for me to be sending my credit card info over email. I purposely used a card we don't use often, and then monitored it closely for weird charges. Had no issues.

What website did you use to purchase the pass online? I found this one: http://www.shoreexcursioneer.com/aruba/occidental-grand-resort-day-pass-all-inclusive.html

Just not sure if it is "official"...
