It indeed looks like all suites are currently booked as it says “no longer available “, translated means currently sold out.  If you check frequently, you might see a few come back into availability.  To find Sunset Verandas, you have to select verandas and they are a subset, along with the IV’s, guarantees, etc.  When it doesn’t show as an option, it means they are sold out.

Your thought to contact a TA is a good one as they have the ability to find cabins coming available.  Good luck!

Thank you both so much. I’ll also look into the hull balcony. Cheers!

What cruise are you looking at?  There are so few Sunset Verandas, and they are so popular they sell out very, very quickly.  Surprised if no suites are showing unless the cruise is fairly soon.

We’re eyeing the Beyond out of Fort Lauderdale March 11, 2024 (Caribbean and Panama).

You’ll need to either book a suite or a sunset veranda to get the traditional balcony. Glad you enjoyed the cruise otherwise!

Thanks! We’re looking and it gives no options for either. Maybe my computer skills are lacking and it’s time to call a TA. 🤭

  4. We just returned from Beyond Med Rome to Barcelona cruise. We had an aqua class room with an infinite balcony. We absolutely hated the infinite “balcony” (wasn’t a balcony at all, just an extension of the room with a window you can open, essentially).

Anyway, we loved the Beyond, but don’t want another infinite veranda. What class needs to be booked to have the traditional veranda cabin with sliding doors? Seems all the verandas only offer infinite.

    thanks!

The test results document from your test provider must include the name of the lab that processed the test, the lab’s CLIA Lab Number or Certification Number, the address of the lab, your name, the date the test was taken, type of test, and your positive result.

This is what I’m having an issue obtaining. Apparently my doctor cannot (or will not?) provide the actual lab test result printout. They just typed on the COR letter “confirmed PCR test result to be Positive”.

Celebrity being celebrity… being updated a few weeks ago from June 12th everyone needs to be vaccinated now a few weeks later know one is required to be vaccinated on most/certain cruises… plus you can just take a photo of any negative test you can find and that’s perfectly acceptable to board the ship and spread as many covid germs as you want… 😱🤷🏼‍♂️

unless I’m reading the site incorrectly… but given the usual confusing website I guess I could be wrong 🤷🏼‍♂️

Makes me wonder how many people actually do this. And really - how thoroughly can they be checking the test results for thousands of people?

    Very disappointed and frustrated.

  7. We are traveling in 2 weeks out of Rome, and having had COVID in early July, we decided to get a Certificate of Recovery just in case. We submitted the request to our physician, specifically requesting the test results from our PCR taken there, and a letter outlining we are good for travel.

I just opened the letter. On the top half, he confirmed the PCR results as positive on July 7th, and on the bottom half, noted my full recovery, no symptoms and deemed me safe for travel. I was hoping for the official printout of “PCR SARS-COVID positive” like some places provide, but apparently, they can’t provide that. They can only confirm on the letter.

His confirmation of the positive PCR test taken, and the “good for travel” with his signature at the bottom should be fine, yeah?

I called Celebrity, and all they said was “we just need to see the test result and that you’re good for travel” but noted without seeing the form, they can’t say yes or no (understandable).

Am I worrying too much?! So stressful!

  8. Wondering if you noticed the 10 drink cards for sale on the Vision.

I don't drink enough to make the unlimited drink package worth it.

Some folks are saying they are seeing a 10 drink card available - all different pricing on it. But it is better than full price for sure.

Or, did you see any BOGO deals on drinks or happy hour pricing in any of the venue's?

We want to take on 12 paks of diet soda and as well a case of water. Wondering IF you did this or saw anyone being able to do it currently?

We purchased the Ultimate drink package but would not do it again. I didn't drink nearly what I thought I would. Although, I did notice the price of drinks was a bit high. Maybe RCCL raised the prices so people would find the packages more appealing.

I did not see any BOGO or happy hour prices. Sorry.

I'm also not sure whether or not they allowed diet soda but, in the past, we were able to carry on a case of water without any problems.

  9. Hi all - thanks for reading this review. I've lost track of the amount of cruises I've been on, but I am a Diamond RCCL member. I have been on almost every ship, small to large. A group of us decided to take this cruise out of Tampa because we liked the itinerary offered: Belize, Roatan Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel.

We arrived in Tampa the morning of March 3 and stayed at the Stadium Hotel in Tampa (AVOID!). Hotel was gross, reeked like smoke and must, and they had no towels available the next morning. I can't stress enough, don't stay here!

Anyway, we arrived at the port on March 4 around 11:30 am. Check-in was a breeze and we were on the ship by noon.

SHIP - The ship was easy to navigate. The crew kept her looking clean, but she is very tired and worn. RCCL desperately needs to replace carpeting and paint. Our room, oceanview forward on deck 4, was tiny and also worn. There was very little storage. The safe in our room broke on a daily basis - we had to call maintenance every day (sometimes twice per day!). They always fixed it as soon as they arrived, but it was frustrating.

WIFI - Purchased it for the week due to issues at home, and was able to easily text, load webpages and send/receive emails throughout the week. It was slow, but it served it's purpose. I posted a thread about wifi prior to the trip, and many people said it simply didn't work. Although allow, it worked fine for me.

SERVICE - Excellent, as always! The crew members are nothing short of amazing.

FOOD - Mediocre in comparison to the Allure.

The Windjammer had the same food daily and fruit was very limited. No berries, and pineapple was difficult to come by. Plenty of cantaloupe though, which I don't like, of course! The burgers were cold, fatty and tasteless. Windjammer gets a C for food quality and taste.

The Park Cafe in the solarium was a bit better, so I'd grade that a B.

The dining room food was standard dining room fare. Not amazing, but not terrible. B+.

PORTS - Unfortunately, Costa Maya was canceled due to bad weather, so we had an additional sea day. In the past, RCCL has given a $25 OBC to passengers due to this, but they didn't offer that this time, which is fine. It was an above and beyond gesture last time.

Roatan, Honduras - Very nice. We took a cab to a private, off the path beach. I can't remember the name. It had a nice bar, clean bathrooms and a nice, sandy beach. Cost was $10 pp for the cab, and $10 pp to get into the beach.

Belize City - Unimpressive, but I'm going to assume it's because we didn't do our homework. It was our first time there, and we figured we could cheaply take a cab to the beach. They wanted $50 pp for a 6 mile roundtrip to the beach! I couldn't fathom spending that. We shopped at the port and went back and hung out by an empty pool, which was nice.

Cozumel - I've always loved Cozumel. We went to a resort about 10 minutes from the port and relaxed on the beach. We shopped at the port after and then stopped at the "spring break" style bar on the pier post shopping. We had a margarita and once it got a bit too rowdy, we left. Lots of spring breakers on board!

Overall - I think my time cruising is done. Don't get me wrong - I love being on a ship - but there are other things I want to see and experience before I cruise again. I found myself a bit annoyed with the singing/dancing waiters, because you know they absolutely hate doing that. I don't want to dance the Macarena while I'm trying to eat. When I'm laying down by the pool, I don't want to hear awful karaoke or listen to people scream during a belly flop contest. Maybe I'm just getting old! Overall, I think I can get better food/experiences by going places for the same price.

If you have any vision questions, feel free to ask!

  10. Hi all. I'm traveling on the Vision for the first time. We typically cruise on larger ships (Oasis, Freedom, Explorer classes) and I was impressed with Wifi on Oasis class. We decided to do the Vision this time because we liked the itinerary, but I have a job that requires me to send/receive emails and iMessage (I know, I know - but it pays the bills). Anywho- how is the wifi aboard the Vision? Thanks :)

  11. A friend of mine cruise on the Allure the week prior to you and said the lines on the flow rider were minimal his week. Guess it all depends on the week you travel. As a flow rider addict, I am hoping for minimal lines when I cruise in March on the Allure.;)

It also depends on the time of day. If you go later in the afternoon, many people left the deck to head back to their rooms to nap, shower, etc. On our 6th day (sea day) I was able to stay on for a bit. But if you catch it from 11am-3pm on a sea day, you'll be waiting on line.

  12. Thanks for posting your review. Glad to hear you had a nice cruise on Allure. Also happy to hear that so far they have managed to keep the noro virus to a minimum by their constant cleaning.

Did you do Eastern or Western?

    Which night was the Quest?

Some threads on the boards mentioned that the Allure had more vibration than whats normal...did you find an excess of vibration on your sailing?

Our ports of call were St Maarten, St Thomas and Nassau. Our stay in Nassau was very short (arrived at 7 am, had to be back on board by 12:30 PM if I remember correctly).

Quest was the 5th night of the cruise (Thursday).

Funny you mention the vibration. I did feel it, more than on other cruises. It occurred during docking and definitely woke me up out of a deep sleep. Didn't bother me though (remember, I took naps! :D). It was almost like a wake up call to say, WE'RE HERE!

  13. That is a security photo to be used by security and POS.

The photo peoples photo is for matching your other photos taken to you.

I would want these systems staying seperate.

A photo, taken in front of a cruise ship backdrop, where they requested we make a funny face, is not for facial recognition. Sorry.

Edit to add: I just received a reply from RCI. They confirmed they take ONE facial recognition photo at check-in and any remaining photos are optional for your enjoyment. They apologized for their employee and said they will take measures to ensure it does not continue.

  14. My wife will be on the Allure at the end of Feb this month. We want to make sure we plan ahead for any of the themed nights (disco, 80's, etc) Did your Allue cruise have any themed nights? If so, can you share some details? Thanks!

Not that I can remember, but I wouldn't have participated so maybe I just didn't pay attention!

  15. We are theatre show people and so very much look forward to these. What show is Quest?

Quest is a scavenger hunt game show for adults only. It was held at 11:45 PM in Studio B (ice skating rink).

Did you have traditional or My Time dining? And how did you find it?

We had traditional dining - 8:30 PM. It was a bit late for me so next time I think I'll do the early seating. The positive was we were able to nap around 4-5 PM before dinner, so we can head out after and not be tired!

Did you try and specialty restaurants? We'll probably stick to the dining room but always interested in others experiences.

The only other restaurants we tried were Ritas Cantina (mexican) and Johnny Rockets, both for lunch. They were very good. We did not try any of the pricier steakhouses or restaurants.

    Enjoy your cruise!

  16. Im pretty sure on Allure the first photo is for facial recognition. That is how they put your pics in your binder unlike most of the other ships where you have to hunt and find your pics. I've had pics while riding the flow rider in my folder so they didn't swipe my card with those. It would have to be facial recognition.

We already had our photos taken at check-in for facial recognition.
